The most delightful book just became available here at my library - and I'm one of the first to check it out!

DR Ginny, do you work in a public library? I am in an academic one.

I just got off the phone with DR Jose...he's in San Francisco...when he called he had just come down the hill from Coit Tower and during the last part of our talk he was ascending Lombard Street (the world's crookedest street) and had to stop and rest.

San Francisco has some steep, steep streets...and they can wind the fittest among us.

So far, he's been very good...he has bypassed several chocolate shops.

Had to log out abruptly earlier because I was having a real "Dilbert Moment" here at work.  I called our systems geniuses to ask them to install the color printer on my desk computer and they said, "Not without your manager's approval."  Oy.  When my manager got back from his meeting, he said, "I don't care if everybody in the department has it."  So, once I had the approval of someone who hasn't been alive as long as I've been a member of the American Library Association, the systems geniuses had to wave their magic wands over my computer.  End of Dilbert moment.

Gotta love animated systems....

I have lovely stories about ex-libris/Aleph and Peoplesoft.... I have a word for peoplesoft that is not very ladylike but is descriptive.

Peter Lawford and Phyllis Kirk were the first Nick and Nora I ever saw.

moi aussi!  I'm back from Charlotte's dance recital, and an interesting reciatal it was.  Those kids have got to raise their standards of listening, and a lot of the recital looked like too much MTV viewing.  A Asian-American student did a wonderful Korean Drum Dance involving three hanging tom-toms and an off-stage drummer that deservedly brought down the house.

DR TPunk, Charlotte and I want to see TRISTAN AND ISOLDE on Saturday night.  Do you want to come with us?

Finished with my two rough drafts - they're pretty good, I think, but then again, I'm in the dark somewhat - I'm sure they'll have notes, but I think they're okay as a first draft.  I'll polish when I get home tonight.

Jrand, got your e and will send you what you want in a day or two.

FJL-
I am a fan of  the Hollisters. I posted on them back in the days before you joined up. I found a website that has a lot about them.

The four books I have, inherited from cousins, I think, are:
THE HAPPY HOLLISTERS
THE HAPPY HOLLISTERS AT CIRCUS ISLAND
THE HAPPY HOLLISTERS AND THE INDIAN TREASURE
THE HAPPY HOLLISTERS AND THE OLD CLIPPER SHIP

Back when there used to be a cable channel called The Nostalgia Network, they used to show Boston Blackie on there.

Yes, JRand, I hoped to come into work today and hear that a few of America's finest ballerinas had inquired as to who that handsome devil was watching from the wings last night. Alas, I heard nothing, and am smart enough not to post on here if I did. TPunk knows kickboxing.

Well, the time is getting near and I am getting very very excited.  I drove by the new house on the way home and saw a U-Haul in the driveway....so nice to know they are getting everything out of there.  I close on the house at 8:30 AM on Feb 1.  Then I'm going to work all day....yeah right my mind will really be there...but then I'm taking off from Feb 2-10 to clean, paint, finish packing and move.

The elpee cover of the night is the Bob Judd Quartet at Costella's Chalet. Wherever that is. I found the album at an antique store in Gilroy, California, Garlic Capital of the World.

It is actually really a nice-sounding album. Tends to be medleys.

Today I bought a new sofa chair and mattress and box spring. The sales are great right now and I took Paul who was most entertaining.  He's like a kid in a candy shop and does a great job distracting the salesman so I could take my time looking
