Well, I failed to have any Chinese food yesterday.  My stomach wasn't really in the mood for any spicy food, so I stuck to more bland fare.
I took a random three hour nap this evening, slept from about 6 to 9.  As a result, my body doesn't have the faintest idea what time it really is, and I'm walking around in a bit of a fog.

And the word of the day is: ERUMPENT

I have never heard of this word!  But according to the American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition, 2000, here it is:

ADJECTIVE: Bursting through or as if through a surface or covering.

Ann is walking around in a bit of a fog.

I am walking around in lounging pyjamas, smoking jacket, a dickie, and bunny slippers - occasionally I stop and do the TWIST.

Sorry about that.  I didn't have any problem with it, so I didn't think anyone else would.  You should be able to click on this link:

http://www.bartleby.com/61/wavs/37/E0203700.wav

to hear the pronunciation of ERUMPENT.  (Hopefully this won't be a problem...let me know). ::)

No problems with the link??  Okay, now I must go to bed.  I don't know when my housemate will be home, but I don't want to be up when he gets here.  I just want to leave his birthday card and present (fudge-covered Oreos!) on the table for him.  So, I'm going to bed with absolutely no idea how to use ERUMPANT in a sentence.  Good night all!

ErumPENT not PANT.  Erumpant is a mythical word.

Did Miss Gale Storm return today on the day of her namesake?

Hayley Mills patiently signed FREE autographs a few years ago after a matinee of THE KING AND I.  She was not the BEST Anna in the world, but it was fun to see her because of who she is.  When she came out the door and saw many of us standing there, I decided to use a line from SUMMER MAGIC....I said:  "She's not knock-kneed, Nancy!"  Everyone laughed and Hayley said:  "Thank you, Walt Disney!"

I agree with you, DR JRand, and appreciate your gallant comment. Hayley should not do musicals where her character must do a lot of singing. It's not her strong suit. She's a lovely actress, however, and that got her through.

I saw CALL(ING) NORTHSIDE 777 on the FMC some months ago, and I enjoyed it without being bowled over by it. I had always heard what a triumph it was, and I found it good rather than great. Not sure when the DVD is available if I'd want to spring for it. But I'm glad these classics are finding their way to DVD release.

Well, we got some of your rain, I guess. Wasn't supposed to start until this afternoon, but when I got up this morning (8:15), it was already raining, and I ended up going to the grocery store in the rain. Not heavy but still irritating. But, that's over with now, and I'll be settling in for some CSI: MIAMI episodes and THE GREAT ZIEGFELD today.

I slept very late!  I'm ready to go back to bed, but I will refrain.  I have some tidying to do; I've lost a folder of magazine clippings, it's not in any of the usual places, and I need to find it.  Damn, I hate that when it happens.  I don't think it vanished when the bookcases fell, but I don't have any sense of time these days.

When I went to the Library of Congress last October, I recopied a libretto to THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER, but I found the original copy later in my files here; I had stuck it in a drawer with other libretti after the bookcase collapse and totally forgot about it.   So, I have to find this fershlugenah folder of clippings today.

Dear Friend BK, ever since your Hayley Mills kiss, "Joshua Noveck" has been running through my head.

Posting from the Heim of Ana in Orange County.  Just finished two days at the Religious Eduacation Congress, and it was faboo.  EL-DP Eric arrived last night and met myself and an old pal from the "other church" in the Land of Disney and we frolocked till midnight.  And YES, we frolicked because for the first time since the last two times I've been down here, IT WASN'T CROWDED!!!!   One could, if one wanted too, frolick down Main Street like a Gazelle in Neverland and not run into anyone!!

I've decided to blow off the last day of Congress and spend the next few days enjoying D-land with the lack of crowds.  It really felt like old times last night, when you were able to walk anywhere at anytime and not run into anyone.  Last night, EL-DP handed me an early b-day gift, tickets for the Balcony seating/ dessert buffet for tonights 10:30pm viewing of "Fantasmic!!" - so I'm hoping the weather will hold.  What a guy!

Went to a play last night at the Pentacle Theater...DEARLY DEPARTED...which my friend Jeff is in. It was closing night and it was sold out, so I waited at the ticket booth for an hour hoping to snag a ticket...which I finally did!

It was a funny play and I enjoyed it. Met Jeff's girlfriend and got to meet one of the other actors, Rob Brunner, who I have long had a crush on (having seen him in previous plays...and at the gym!)  ;)

Prior to the play I decided to eat at a Chinese place on State street in order to fulfill BK's request for us to all eat some Chinese.

So, I had Beef in Black Bean Sauce...and it was tasty....I was also the only one in the restaurant!
