What happened to page 18?
When I came out of the NEW REHEARSAL CENTER tonight, it was so hot and humid that my eyeglasses steamed up.
Adam asked me tonight if I would like drums to play when I exit the first time.....;D
I told him that I would adore to have percussion on my egress.....which he said would be fine, but would I like drums when I exit.....
That happened to me today when I came out of the Obama event.

Six Trapped in Collapsed Utah Coal Mine
...
In 2007, inspectors have issued 32 citations against the mine, 14 of them considered significant.
Last month, inspectors cited the mine for violating a rule requiring that at least two separate passageways be designated for escape in an emergency.
It was the third time in less than two years that the mine had been cited for the same problem, according to MSHA records. In 2005, MSHA ordered the mine owners to pay $963 for not having escapeways and the 2006 fine for the same problem was just $60.
Overall, the federal government has ordered the mine owner to pay nearly $152,000 in penalties for its 325 violations with many citations having no fines calculated yet. Since January, the mine owner has paid $130,678 in fines, according to MSHA records.
Asked about safety, Murray told reporters: "I believe we run a very safe coal mine. We've had an excellent record."
And the word of the day is: EXIMIOUS!Rebelling against the ex-gay movement, Adam and Steve declared to one and all that they were gay and therefor EXIMIOUS.
Will we see the "Can I keep my own name" line in future promos?
On last night's CLOSER, Brenda entered the boat wearing that wonderfully rediculous floppy white brim hat; we get a great shot of her peeling it off; however, she leaves the boat without it!
Where's the damn hat!!!!
I love french fries straight out of the hot oil with a sprinkling of salt and vinegar.
Bacon is probably my favorite fried food!!

I was going through an old SHOWBILL the othe day for Cloud 9 and there was a phot mention of BAbes in Toyland at the Eastside Playhouse. This is circa December1982!
Thanks for the good wishes on our journey down the road :D
You seem unconcerned that your relationship may well bring about the destruction of the family unit and maybe even the end of Western Civilization :-X

Yesterday is the first Aug 6 in my memory when no publuc notice was made of the anniversary of the attack on Hiroshima.
When word of the attack filtered back to the US, there was an initial presumption that the war was over. I found this event most distressing - I had been promised a pony ride on my Birthday (8 Aug), and the Seaside Park, NJ summer concessions all closed for the celebration.
Imagine what the news coverage would have looked like given today's technology. In those good old days, the only moving picture testimonials available were those provided by the motion picture houses, many days after an international event. (Of course this was a decided improvment over our early days of Independence when news of the Napoleonic Wars had to travel by ship to Philadelphia.)

The festival is centered around booths arranged in colorful marketplace style representing the cultures of about 50 nations. The booths are staffed by UNC Charlotte international students and members of Charlotte's international community and feature art, crafts and costumes from each participating country. Many booths offer international food for sale.
So glad to read you're feeling better DR Elmore. Once one moves past fifty, health issues seem to be a lot more at the fore of one's life.
Same weather here, DR GINNY.
So walking around in my leather costume shouldn't be as terrible as it was last night.
After two weeks, I'm starting to remember all of the tangled relationships in the story.
Urban librarian observation: Even a week at a seminary didn't increase my tolerance of the bottom-feeders.

One of the great things about the show. Nothing is as simple as black and white.
HITLER'S MUSIC COLLECTION TURNS UP IN DEAD RUSSIAN SOLDIER'S ATTIC
BERLIN — Adolf Hitler, the most notorious champion of Richard Wagner and “racially pure” German music, banished Jewish and Russian musicians from the concert halls of the Third Reich — but apparently listened secretly to their work.
Oh, well, in spite of the unpleasant weather, Anthony and I will still celebrate our 12th Anniversary! Wow, time flies.
Jose, let's chat later in the day - I'm finished with my production meeting at six. Not sure when I'm meeting up with Merrill, but it wouldn't be until nine or thereafter. Do you have my cell number? I'll e it to you.

DR Jason, your beautiful "Giants In The Sky" was quite wonderful!
but on the plus side, I just had the best brussel sprouts I've ever had in my life...and I LOVE me some brusssel sprouts!
Der B, I think I have an answer regarding the hat. I'm looking at the episode now, and in the first scene, when she's at the beach, she takes off the hat as she enters the tent to see the victim and shoves the hat in her purse. So she probably did the same while she was down below in the boat.

So I have a question for you librarians out there...
I requested a book to be sent to my local branch via the library's website. When I look up my account to check the status of the book, it says "CONFIRMED - CANNOT BE CANCELLED." Am I to assume that they mean the book is there waiting for me, or does that just mean the request went through and the book is in transit?? I don't want to walk to the library in this heat just to find out that the book isn't there...
Corn dogs! And funnel cakes! MMmmmmmm!

I have never met a fried food that I didn't like.

Did I miss it? Did someone already do the ageless pun about gays in the millinery?
even gays in the millinery have been known to forget their hats ....
DR Jason, how is your yoga going?
I can't remember the actual topic of the day (I read the notes nearly 12 hours ago), but I'm getting the jist of it...
I love fried foods. There, I've said it. I'm from Kentucky, so we fry everything. Not to cast doubts upon the quality of Skip's fried chicken, but my dad's fried chicken is by far my favorite on earth. Maybe it's the ingredients he uses, but I suspect it's more than that. In any case, his is my favorite by a long-shot. He used to be the international quality control manager for KFC (in the early 80's), and he's one of the few people in the world to know the 11 secret herbs and spices in the Colonel's secret recipe. And he's a fantastic cook. So is my mom. Her mac & cheese is amazing, as is her homemade creamed corn. YUM! Luckily, I was able to partake of most of my favorite home-cooked foods while I was there just a couple of weeks ago. :)
At the Bollywood movie up in Beaverton this weekend, during the intermission, they served freshly fried pakoras in the lobby...oh, my gosh those were good!!!
And congrats to DR Michael Shayne for losing 66 pounds!! I know how hard it's been to lose 45... How are you doing it? I honestly think Weight Watchers is the only way I'd have lost it... I couldn't have done it by myself.

I'm just not thrilled with the way things are being presented to me, and the pressure I'm getting to just make offers without giving things thought. It's fine if I know the people, but not if I don't, and not if I'm not sure about it even IF I know them. While I suppose we could use one final strong burst of excellent vibes and xylophones for the actress, I'm starting to get annoyed about what should have been a simple offer and acceptance that has now dragged on almost six days. The latest from the agent is that she hasn't heard back from her client, which I find completely hard to believe, given the phoner than I had with her client last week.
But, one way or the other, we either have her by the end of the day or I'm moving on - to whom is up in the air, but we have some names that I think would be fine.
Unfortunately, with the heat and humidity also come the mosquitos. I have five HUGE bites on my left calf. My calves are so big that a mosquito could live for YEARS off just one of them, but is it necessary to bite SO MANY times??
DR George: According to the very soft-spoken man on the phone, "COMMITTED" means the book has been located at another branch and is being sent to my local one. Once the book is available for pick-up, the notice should change to "AVAILABLE" or "ON HOLD." Ya learn something new every day, I tell ya...
Our library system uses "In Transit" when an item is being sent from one library to another without a hold attached and "Transit Request," if there is a request for a patron. Once it arrives at a branch, it changes to "Item being held." :)
Oh, DR MBarnum, Alejandro and I are very happy together. So far I've only done the half class workout... Once the weather cools off, I'll start with the full class.
How is YOUR yoga going?? ;)

Where'd everybody go? I was off in another window, trying to book reasonably priced flights for us for NYC and then someone stopped in my cube to visit for a bit.
Sad to be all alone in BK's living room...
Are we at 350000 yet?
No one is alone (a Sondheim reference). :D
Of course, it's never simple with our casting guy, so he's made the "offer" to the good actor, but he's now is a casting session from three to nine - certainly I haven't gotten that kind of time from him. I'm going to be discussing the situation at our production meeting, because frankly I'm tired of beating my head against the wall. I get arguments about everything, and, unless I'm mistaken, this guy is working for ME and my show, not the other way around. But, it doesn't help that he's casting eleven other NYMF shows - who knows where I am in his food chain, but I suspect at the bottom. I also suspect that every time I give him a name, he pitches it to other shows. Can't be sure, but boy, I gotta tell you.
All I can say is thank goodness for A/C. I grew up without it for much of my childhood, but I guess we just stood things back then. I certainly couldn't do it now. Just to open the front door to get the mail was ghastly - that rush of stifling hot air right in your face. Ugh!
I'm starving! And it's still over an hour til dinner time!

DR Cillaliz - hope you feel better after some comfort food. I'm about to go home, too, in 100o weather that they say feels like 113o :P
It's supposed to stay in the 90's until next Wednesday.
Enough to make anybody sick.
Then I headed on down to Union Square to pick up some things at Trader Joe's. Well, I found out that they don't carry what I was looking for, and they were out of the other things I was thinking of picking up. So, I headed back uptown to Whole Foods... Which was also out of what I was looking for... So, I just headed on back to the apartment. And here I am.Trader Joe's is not known for stocking sailors. Sorry. (Dunno about Whole Foods.)
I'll need to catch up later!
Car service day and a movie whilst we wait - "La Vie En Rose"
Cilla-Don't get sick vibes!
Jose, as you may have surmised from my posts, I'm severely less than thrilled about our guy and have, in fact, had a long meeting about what he's doing with our general managers, who are majorly pissed right now. I"m probably going to let them deal with him from now on. As to tomorrow, I know we start the dance stuff at ten-thirty at Ripley-Grier and if I remember correctly, they're going to use the CD for those auditions, as the room they booked has no piano. So, your original call time (I presume around noon) is probably good and we're probably in the same room at Pearl.
I believe he sleeps with it under his pillow.

Hmmmmmmm. I got a phone message asking me to bring the "Brain Tap" dance music!
Dear DR SWoody,Not really a recipe, more along the lines of a method.
Please post your recipe for roasted beets.
Noel, is your DW Joy helping out with your casting or is Geoff doing it himself?
Served how:
Steamed, broiled, baked?
Butter and cracked black pepper?
Healthy squeeze of lemon?
A nice dose of good Balsamic vinegar?
Gated good parmesan cheese?
Boiled, mashed, with melted Velveeta >:(
Is that the way a southern lady treats expensive millinery?

What is fried beavertail?
Also try the tasty beaver tail, a doughy, deep-fried pastry associated with Ottawa, although a number of places claim to have created it. It's available in sweet and savory versions, topped with cinnamon, sugar, icing sugar, etc. In the winter, many places will offer it on the canal. During the summer, the only place downtown to offer it is in the Byward Market on George St. There is a variety of toppings and the taste of the beaver tail arguably stands out more with the classic sugar & cinnamon. However, the locals' favourite is the kilaloe sunrise, a topping of sugar and lemon juice.
Dear DR SWoody,

Will we never get to page eleven?
I cut the grass in 100 degree weather. Now I can't drink enough water!
Drink some Gatorade!
Seriously, it will replace what you lost through sweat.
Our crack casting director sent out the sched at about ten this evening. He also made no response to my long e-mail where I laid out what I was feeling, nor did he respond to my general manager. The latter will be taking over casting duties if this guy keeps doing what he's doing. No excuse for it - once again we have no answer on the actress situation and I'm afraid it's not going to be settled (whatever the casting is) while I'm here, which is really infuriating. Well, he'll be seeing me bright and early in the morning, and if I were him I know I'd try to have real good news for me.
Yes, it was Gerrit we offered it to - the original Rodzinski - but there were insurmountable logistical problems. But, it was great to reconnect with him, and he's totally on board for doing a commentary track on The Creature Wasn't Nice DVD.
It turns out our guy did call and wanted to talk about what he is saying is large miscommunication issues immediately - only he called my home phone, and tonight, just a moment ago, is the first time I have checked that voice mail. I know he has my cell, so it's weird.
DR Cillaliz, I hope you feel better soon!
DR Cillaliz, I forgot to tell you -- the helicopter crash last week was at what used to be the old Indian School, before it was torn down and made into a park.
Yes, a page back I posted that the owner had given me the info to fix it.
