Well, you've read the notes, the notes are now in the past, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - the cows will come home in the future, while you post in the present and the future, which will then be the past. The cows find all of this MOOtaphysical.

And the word of the day is: MANTISSA!
-
And a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to occasional dear reader divarobbie - hope he is having a fun birthday with CAKE.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR divarobbie!! ;D
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... Well... I'm still up.
-
I got back from San Diego around 1:30 this/yesterday afternoon... And then my day just continued on non-stop. Some work, some "logistics", some food, some music, some friends. It was a good day. Just a long one.
-
And... I shall have to catch up on what I've missed in the morning. I really do need to get some sleep now.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
Laters...
-
Happy birthday to Divarobbie!
-
Sunday morning greetings! I saw Fr. Richard off to Lima a little after 7 and I've been puttering ever since. In an hour or so my cousin Perry and I will leave to join my sister's family and the guest-of-honor to celebrate Mom's 93rd birthday.
-
And the word of the day is: MANTISSA!
And The Song Of The Day Is: INCHWORM
-
good morning to all
-
Thank you DR JANE and DR CILLA LIZ.....I did NOT see Bunny this morning. Since it's raining, he may be under the deck or where ever else his home is. It used to be under the flowering bush in the front yard......which no longer has flowers or leaves, so he has vacated that abode.
-
Good morning, all! I survived the night, although my lower back is killing me. I spent about an hour debating staying in bed all day or or not. I had several weird dreamds, one involving Joe and Jaston of "Greater Tuna" and another involving the Appalachian stay in Hilton Head. There were more I do not remember now.
As to today, I've got things to work on, but I may jump onto RED MILL for a while, so that everything's ready to be scanned and copied.
Coffee first.
-
I like Melodyland.
-
I think my favorite tracks are the title tune, the Sherman Brothers medley, and Tomorrow, but it is all very nice.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday Wishes to DR Divarobbie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I mentioned I saw the stage version of Beauty and the Beast yesterday and a few plot points didn't jump out to me until this morning. (Never thought about them until now even though I've have seen the film many times)
If the castle is in walking distance from the liitle town the quiet village (evident by Belle walking from the castle to see her father) how come no one else knew about it? Was the mirror some kind of magical GPS? Gaston and villagers were able to find it.
If Maurice was lost when he found the castle how did he find his way back to the little town the quiet village?
The Enchantress was a mean ol' b*tch. When she punished the Prince she punished the all occupants of the castle. What did they do to her?

I watched THE STINGIEST MAN IN TOWN last night with Basil Rathbone.
It was a kinescope of a black-and-white 1956 live television broadcast, so the quality of the picture was not the greatest.
The best aspect of the show was the score. It had several very nice and hummable songs.
The problem(s) with the program is that:
1. In many key roles, they used singers (e.g. Vic Damone) rather than actors who can sing.
2. The actors, including Rathbone, were giving stage performances.
Still, it was an entertaining 81minutes and I'm glad I finally had an opportunity to see it.

Tried brushing up some of the thousands of leaves but due to the wind they just fly up in the air and land back where they were, so I've given it up until another time.
-
I try to avoid doing any shopping on Sundays - or much else really - but I needed some stationary so had to make a trip to Staples. I can now get on with the serious business of doing the laundry.
-
It's just the guests and me on this lovely Sunday morning.
-
JR, I'm wondering if maybe whoever wrote the date on that FF TV Guide put the wrong year. If it was December 30, it really should be the flapper cover, not the holly. I'm thinking maybe it was 1962, not 1961.
-
I watched Disney's Meet The Robinsons for the first time today. What a tremendous, fun film!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy, happy, divarobbie!
-
Time is a four-letter word.

Back from breakfast at Cracker Barrel with 9 of my relatives. We celebrated Mom's 93rd birthday and then dispersed as follows:
My niece taking Gram (my Mom) home to check her grocery list and then head home to Illinois
My sister and her husband to Kroger to shop for what's on said list and deliver it to Mom
My nephew and his girlfriend headed north to their home in Michigan
My cousin headed south to his home in Georgia
My son and daughter-in-law to Meijer in search of bookcases for their new apartment
Me to my home - ALONE!
-
Could be DR JMK......but the flapper issue was Dec 30 61-Jan 5 62
The previous week is Dec 22- Dec 29, 1961 - but I will also try to locate the 62/63 issue.
Too bad there's no date on the pages of the layout.

your copy IS the Indiana edition, correct?

your copy IS the Indiana edition, correct?
I have no idea, I think Conrad Lane gave it to me years ago, which would probably mean so, but I can't guarantee it, plus it's just those two pages, I have nothing else to go by.
-
I don't think I've ever seen that FF pic before!
-
I'm up after close to nine hours of sleep. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, and soon I'll be jogging, in only a few.

Right, and the date handwritten on it is December 30, 1961, which means it really SHOULD be in the flapper issue if indeed the writer actually meant 1961 LOL.

He would have had the Central Indiana edition.....so....hmmmm.....
-
Strange.......but that's what makes collecting so interesting.
-
Oh.....I just thought of something......maybe it was the locally published TV NEWS for that week instead of the TV Guide.

No, it's definitely TV GUIDE.

When I get home I'll pull it out again and see if I can divine any other clues.

DR divarobbie,

-
DR Ginny it sounds like a nice morning for you followed by quiet time.

I need to change so we can take Sherlock to the hiking trails. It has been a pleasant morning so far. I hope I say the same after we return from the trails. Today is the 2nd anniversary of my shoulder surgery & I hope no more dogs knock me down.
-
DR Jane - anniversary wishes that you have no more shoulder or any other injuries!

Listening to This Week On Broadway with Peter Fiichia & Michael Portantiere praising two recordings by Liz Callaway "A Place Called Home" and "Where Do I Go From Here? They went on for several minutes how wonderful they were
Both I like to point out were recorded by Mr. Bruce Kimmel on The Story Goes On and Lost in Boston
-
When I get home I'll pull it out again and see if I can divine any other clues.
Okay Sherlock.
-
Heaven forbid that THEY should point out that those recordings would not exist but not for me - thus it has been with every record producer and label throughout time.
-
Back from the four-mile jog - as always, whilst doing it I drilled my patter and lyrics over and over again.
-
MUSIC MAN was shown on Channel 16 without interruption and it was exactly what I needed. Now, a short break and there'll be skating to watch!
-
Won't have time to eat until after rehearsal - so around three-thirty.
-
I believe I DRILLED MY PATTER is a favorite Irish porn film of Elmore's. ;)
-
Happy Happy Birthday, DR divarobbie!
-
And, at 9:30, the Big Ten Network is rebroadcasting yesterday's Michigan/Ohio State game. Watching with a bunch of people I love was fun, fun, fun, but I think I'll watch it again for the details.
The TV scheduling gods must have known how much I'd need a "down" day today!
-
I believe I DRILLED MY PATTER is a favorite Irish porn film of Elmore's. ;)
You sure know my collection awfully well, much better than I do!
-
JohnG - thanks for the YouTube comment!!!

!!!PAGE THREE!!!
-
Good Morning! Good Afternoon!
I'm up, I'm up.... And I've already breakfasted, practiced and made a bunch of phone calls!
-
Won't have time to eat until after rehearsal - so around three-thirty.
Wha... Oh... That's right... Another rehearsal... Not mine... Not today at least...
Whew!
-
Back from breakfast at Cracker Barrel with 9 of my relatives. We celebrated Mom's 93rd birthday and then dispersed as follows:
...
My son and daughter-in-law to Meijer in search of bookcases for their new apartment
...
And the founder of Meijer, Frederick Meijer, just passed away on Friday. :(
-
And right now, I need to get ready to run a few more errands on this I'm-not-sure-if-it's-unseasonably warm day in Glendale and Los Angeles.
Laters...

Yes, DR Jose, I saw that Meijer news...

Thank you. While semi short, we had a very nice hike.

Happy Birthday, DR divarobbie!

DR JOSE - how is the new piano?
I believe this rehearsal is for the next Gardenia show, not the UNSUNG / LOST show.

Last week I ordered fresh eggs from my egg lady (who swears she will never kill the chickens). She mentioned the chickens weren't laying as many eggs as usual with the shorter hours of daylight, however she would find the largest ones for me. One of those eggs is THREE INCHES LONG! It looks for like a duck egg. Keith asked what kind of chicken lays such a large egg. She didn't know which chicken it is, figure it is an unhappy one. I thought about making a soft boiled egg but haven't a clue how long to cook it. Instead I'll scramble it. She said to expect a double yoke. From the size triple is more like it.

THE MUSIC MAN on our PBS station - perfect for a rainy Sunday!

I assure you, DR TCB, if it had been that version I wouldn't have given it 2.5 hours of my life!

Good Afternoon, once again!
Another set of errands completed. Another break.
:)
-
Time to ketchup on yesterday's posts...
-
Rehearsal vibes for MR BK and Company.
DR JOSE - how is the new piano?
DR JRand - The new piano doesn't arrive at LACC until tomorrow afternoon. A friend of mine very generously let me use his home studio this morning to get some practicing in.
-
DR Ginny, I have been negligent....

I also enjoyed the cake.

And now that I'm all ketched up...

~~~~~VIBES FOR DC PHOEBE~~~~~
As for yesterday's Topic of the Day...
The first time I had a Vanilla-Vanilla cupcake at Magnolia Bakery it was a revelation(?). I normally would get Chocolate-Chocolate, Chocolate-Vanilla or Vanilla-Chocolate cupcake, but that first Vanilla-Vanilla was pretty amazing.
I did try a cupcake or two from Sprinkles a few weeks ago, and I have to say that I was truly impressed by the quality of the cake and the frosting, and the balance between them. It was tasting chocolate cake that actually tasted like chocolate rather than "brown".
DR Michael S - RE: DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
-"Be Our Guest" really is/was still a showstopper even after it made the move to the Lunt-Fontanne. What it lacked in numbers, it more than made up in "density".
-I like "A Change In Me", however, that refrain can get quite whiny in the audition room. ::) -It was also added to the OCR. Alas, I think I would have preferred to hear Toni Braxton belt out the song rather than "mix" it.
-And as for the move from The Palace to The Lunt-Fontanne, as FORBIDDEN BROADWAY put it: "Beauty's been decreased." ;)
-
As for Christmas cards...
If anyone plans on sending me one, be sure to ask me for my new mailing address.
-
DR elmore - I hope you're feeling better today.
-
I doubt I'm sending cards again this year. :(
-
DR JMK - He has the Google, and he knows how to use it!
-
DR Cillilaz - Great to see your brother and sister and Sam too.
-
As for Christmas cards...
If anyone plans on sending me one, be sure to ask me for my new mailing address.
But will you promise to keep the new address long enough to receive the card?
-
Oh!
I finally discovered that someone had uploaded the Julie Andrews TV Special, "One Step Into Spring" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9-f808BI34&sns=em) to YouTube. Part 3 includes her solo rendition of "At the Ballet"(!?!?!).
Of course, just because you send a card doesn't mean I will open the envelope. ;)
-
And as DR JRand noted earlier, and as their Twitter feed just confirmed, "The Amazing Race" will start at 8:54pm EST/7:54pm CST.
And now...
Time for me to run my last few errands for the day.
Jane, stupid question, probably; but when you sent cards, did you send Christmas, Hanukkah, or both?
-
Thank you, DR TCB!
Jane, stupid question, probably; but when you sent cards, did you send Christmas, Hanukkah, or both?
I only sent Chanukah cards to those who celebrate it. Sometimes I sent generic holiday cards, other times Christmas, but not religious, cards. My shoulders have taken the fun out of doing cards. I'm sure you can appreciate this. I sent close to 150 cards every years having moved so often.
I'm finished Christmas shopping for my 6 year old great-niece. I give gift cards to just about everyone else, so that should be easy.
Everyone must be suffering from a Thanksgiving foodover.
I finished the last of the leftovers today. Tomorrow I must eat lighter. Of course the delicious matzos brie with carmalized apples Keith made for breakfast didn't help.
I have an early flight in the morning, so I must say goodnight!
I watched Disney's Meet The Robinsons for the first time today. What a tremendous, fun film!
I remember when it first came out. I saw it in 3-D and it was a lot of fun!
-
Well, I've been home all day doing nothing but watching TV. I haven't even taken a shower yet. However, I must take a shower now.
Actually, one non-TV-watching thing that I've done is remove all the science experiments from my fridge. ::) I now have dishes soaking in bleach water...finally.
And that's been my day.
-
And now, I must take a shower and run a couple of errands. I need to leave my house.
We had a nice rehearsal with Melody, Dan Callaway, Kim Huber, and Alet. Then I went to Gelson's and got several little things from the deli there - chicken pasta (not so good today), stuffing, mac and cheese, and a couple of small vegetable egg roles. That was my meal o' the day.
-
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. :)
I bought a Nook last week and returned it today (Sunday). I was getting headaches trying to read it. I tried different settings and none seem to work for me.
When I returned it I mentioned the reason why and the associate acknowledge that he had heard this before
-
Wrote the blurb, got the audio samples to the web guy and all should be ready to announce either tomorrow afternoon or at midnight.
-
Good Evening!
My friends in Glendale basically re-celebrated Thanksgiving earlier tonight. She cooked up a turkey breast, warmed up some leftover side dishes and made a few new ones. There were three of us at the table. Needless to say, she has leftovers for the week, and we all have very happy tummies. ;)
