I'll bet JJ would approve if someone vacuumed that disgusting looking carpet!

:D

A big sheet of linoleum will make the clean-up easier.  Hey, you never know what extras people have stashed away.

JJ sure has beautiful markings.

When I was a tad, Easter was the time of giving live baby animals to young children to neglect to death. As I have previously reminisced, my folks didn't support the "neglect" routine and so were saddled with growing numbers of ducks, chickens, and rabbits.

That's where you get it from. :)

Off to the showers to get ready for a memorial for the writing teacher at that college I went to last year - he died over the Christmas holidays, and apparently, stayed refrigerated at the coroner's office until the 'authorities' found his sister 2 weeks ago... sheesh...

George! Gimme yer dates!

March 13 - April 5, 2008 - click HERE for show information and HERE for ticket information.  You can't buy on-line.  You have to purchase in person or over the phone.  If you're able to go, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing tickets as soon as possible by phone.  Also, there is NOT a performance on Easter Sunday.  Which is good, because I'll be in Seattle seeing Mamma Mia! :D

We really should have been thinking about this, oh, say 10 years ago!

Here, in "forward looking" Sussex county, the city of Rehoboth Beach is under a Federal Court order to stop dumping their poorly treated sewage into the canal or Rehoboth Bay.

Local officials are pointing out that our rapid development is about to tap-out our local aquifers.

The city fathers are considering:

A. Ocean Outfall - Building a great big pipe that extends from Rehoboth Beach 9000 feet into the Atlantic Ocean through which they will discharge the treated waste water.

B. Spray Irrigation - recycling treated waste-water onto leased vacant land, farmlands raising feed-stock, golf courses, etc. - and consequently, recharging the aquifer.

Since A is arguably cheaper - they will probably opt for the sewer to the ocean solution (and maybe require all new residents to import their water from China?)

Note: the very elements like nitrogen and phosphorus that make the waste water deadly to the Bay, are beneficial to the farmland, reducing the need for chemical fertilizers, whose run-off also poisons the inland waters.

der Brucer

Note these ae the same folks who don't want off-shore wind farms because they pollute the view, and want the required additional electricity to be imported from Maryland coal fired electric plants (nevermind that the state is refusing permission to the utilities to build more transmission lines through the state).

You can imagine the looks I get wen I suggest that our coast would be an ideal spot for a nuclear power plant.

JANE EYRE is one of my favorite books and movies, in its various incarnations, so I probably would have loved WIDE SARGASSO SEA, but I just couldn't get past the title.

I think now I'm ready to give it a shot. Any recommendations by the DRs?

I don't care for sequels or prequels written by a different author.

There are plenty of reviews
you can read.  I love Jane Eyre and have no interest in this.

And you disagree?

I should.  I don't like guns.  Yet, I really can't blame them & chances are they are just as likely to save lives as take them.

THe 5th b-day with the DP (the pastry chef), and will there be cake waiting at home?  Nope, no cake.  There has NEVER been cake.  I'm over the fact that the DP will not bring cake for mine or ANYONE's b-day!

This is funny.  Did he bake you anything special?  Are cakes an item he doesn't enjoy baking?

HAVE A GREAT EVENING!

JJ sure has beautiful markings.

I asked JJ about the linoleum; his reply:

Ask her if she'd rather sit her bare butt doen on a linoleum covered cold concrete floor or a carpet!

And how do I describe his markings;  "blotches of tortoise shell" doesn't sound attractive.

That's where you get it from. :)

I suspect so.

I remember during the War, the wild rabbits ruined my father's Victory Garden. The next year he comletely fenced in his garden - and planted a second unfenced garden next to his for the wild rabbits!

Question for people who have used Craig's List

Went to it for the first time. It seems you can only post ads by city. Is there a way to post so everyone in the US can see the posting?

I asked JJ about the linoleum; his reply:

Ask her if she'd rather sit her bare butt down on a linoleum covered cold concrete floor or a carpet!

And how do I describe his markings;  "blotches of tortoise shell" doesn't sound attractive.

He is not a tortoise shell, or tortie,-AT ALL.  Sort of like a tabby, but I don't know the exact term :o.  I'll have to check it out.

As for the linoleum, only under the box silly.  Why would he be sitting around the box any other time than when he is using it?

Torties are always females. JJ is a tabby.

I did a little research to come up with the official description of JJ’s marking.  I would say he is a brown patched, or marble, swirled tabby.    I found there are 3 kinds of tabby’s (I knew this just wondered if there was an official name) striped, spotted and swirled.

While I have never seen or heard of a male tortie or calico……“Male tortoiseshells can occur as a result of chromosomal abnormalities (often linked to sterility) or by a phenomenon known as chimericism, where two early stage embryos are merged into a single kitten.”
