Well, you've read the notes, the notes really smelled, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - I don't think we WANT Glorious Smell-O-Vision for THAT event.

In my VCR:  a couple of tapes.  One has this week's latest "Last Comic Standing" episode and Wednesday's rebroadcast of Oprah's episode (I don't even remember why I taped it).  Another tape has some other show that I taped.

In my DVD player:  "Deceit" (still).  A movie from Netflix that I've been notified has been shipped is "The Alien Conspiracy: Grey Skies."  One of our very own Hainsies or Kimlets is involved in it! ;)

In my CD player at work:  a whole bunch of CDs that I haven't listened to...one that I listened to yesterday for only the second time is the new concert cast recording of South Pacific with Reba and Stokes.  I really like this.

Moving right along....

Well I don't know about his singing, but the art director of the John Pizzarelli CD cover should get some kind of award....it's great!

TOD:

CD: Will Young, Friday's Child

DVD:  THE TERROR OF FRANKENSTEIN

VCR:  FOREVER AMBER

Memorial service today for friend Jan, and the we have a SOLD OUT audience for DEATH BY CHOCOLATE tonight.  Of course last night, the girl running the lights doubled bumped and ended up in a blackout and so she hit "GO" again and ended up a scene ahead....it was kind of a mess, when she finally decided she had to do something, she hit a cue and lit the stage while the SM was still finishing his scene change.... GRRRRRRRRRRR

How HARD can it be to hit "GO" on cue....one time....each time?

By an odd twist, there are no anagrams for the word JINK.

Perhaps DR Francois could translate for us the French verb "J'ink."

Der B has all sorts of stuff recorded, for viewing at a later date.  I have no idea what he has recorded, of course.

Nothing planned for this weekend, but I did see a prison boxing/kick boxing Midnight Express/Russian Mafia/Colonel Klink/Mike Tyson sort of film last night. It was crap but it held my interest.

What did you do with John Pizzarelli that was mentioned in yesterday notes?

I saw and met him many years ago at the Montreal Jazz Festival which was his breakout venue.

I have 4 of his albums and one of his wife's

Good morning, all!  I have a day of running around:  10:45 AM appointment at 112th and Amsterdam with my surgeon to check out his cutting on Monday, and a 1:00 PM meeting in Wall Street, which is all the  way to the bottom of the island.
After that, I shall indulge myself and lounge around until I tire of it.

DR MichaelS, I met John Pizzarelli while working on a Gershwin concert for the Library of Congress around 1996 or so.  The cast included Lara Teeter, Audra McDonald, Dawn Upshaw, David Garrison, John Pizzarelli, and several others,  I've never worked on anything with him, but I've worked with his wife Jessica on the WINDFLOWERS album for PS Classics.  They are both wonderful people.  I last saw them when they rcorded a number for the FINE AND DANDY recording.

DVD:  DECEIT (commentary track), HAMLET (Derek Jacobi), MACBETH (Richard Pasco), several operas

CD:  Guy Haines, Jule Styne in Hollywood, Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies, Patti Lupone Lady With a Torch

VCR:  The Life and Times of William Shakespeare (Tim Curry), cheap porn (IT'S BAAAAACK!!!)

check of media:

iPod:  Tori Amos--Little Earthquakes and a whole lot of Chumbawumba

Tivo:  Documentary on Hershey Park in Hershey, PA and IVANHOE with Liz Taylor

DVD:  I haven't bought a new DVD in weeks--I'm sort of proud of myself.

VCR:  I'm hoping I'll have time this weekend to watch (and transfer to DVD) the Public Theater Central Park production of A MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT DREAM (or is it A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM) that starred William Hurt as Oberon.

Good Morning!

BIG storm moving through right now.  The rain just started a few minutes ago, but the skies have been rumbling for a good 20 minutes already.  And from the radio reports, it's supposed to be severe but short.  I hope it does  stay short, and I hope it's not that severe.

DR Jose, I meant to offer sympathies for the phone bill earlier.  I hope it's all resolved to your satisfaction ASAP.

Last night DR Rodzinski wrote:

Quote
I just want to say if any of the recent three vampire musicals had a number half as entertaining as the opening of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, any of them might still be running.

Yeah, was that number freaky or what?

It was like some sort of zombie dance. But sort of cool!

So you think you can dance results spoiler.

Btw, not sure if anybody else mentioned this. But I was actually very happy with the two who were eliminated.

My favorites are benji and his cousin heidi. And i also like allison. And after last night's show i really like travis.  But i really dislike dimitry. Not sure why (he's a good dancer). But his personality just rubbed me the wrong way. And I think martha had the least personality of the remaining girls.

I can't wait to see who the pairs are next week.

Btw, i asked this before, but does anybody know if any of the pairs dances are on the internet? I still really want to see heidi and travis' contemporary. Thanks.

I'm also not sure if anybody has mentioned BIG BROTHER.

I was really happy with the HOH winner.
I'm not sure how i feel about nakomis leaving over diane. I don't really prefer one of the other. But I would have been curious to see if nakomis had kept her agreement with kaysar.

Also, i'm not understanding how the alliances voted. Kaysar seemed to make a deal with nakomis, yet only janelle and will voted to keep her. So why did will and mike boogie not vote together. ANd why did james/howie not vote with janelle (Kaysar). I am really confused.

That was actually a really good HOH challenge. Much better than the plain Q&As.

Friday morning greetings!  The sherry and biscuits were a huge hit last night, as were the Cadbury chocolates that DH Richard contributed.  He's a long-time Sayers fan and led our discussion brilliantly.

TOD - CD(car), a new audiobook:  Anne Tyler's Digging to America, read by Blair Brown.

DVD - Gaudy Night

VCR - Food Network's Behind the Bash:  Dream Ball, thanks to DR George - thank you, thank you, thank you!

Huge storm, angry storm.  But it looks like it's over now.  Rodzinski's office finally has power restored but as he made his way out to work he was told that the A train was closed.  So he came back in, waited a bit, and made his way out again.  I hope it's not a miserable ride to work.

DR Jennifer, re: BB All Stars...SPOILERS

I would have preferred Diane be voted out as I think Nakomis is a much better player, and I enjoy her colorful hair...however, it was probably in everyone's best interest to vote out Nakomis.

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]Kaysar is so nice to look at!!!!![/move]

I was also pleased with who won HOH...that will be very interesting, I think!

[move=right,scroll,6,transparent,100%]Kaysar is so nice to look at!!![/move]

I am enjoying this All-stars season much better more then I thought I would...in the past the thing that has always attracted me to BIG BROTHER was getting to know all new contestants...but so many of these people this season have grown and matured since they were on before...it is almost like they are different people altogether.....

[move=up,scroll,6,transparent,100%]I love Kaysar!!![/move]

...for instance, Jase, who I detested when he was on a few season's back, is now actually quite likeable and I am enjoying the way he is playing the game.

Good morning!

It's a tiny bit cooler this morning. It actually didn't feel stifling when I went outside to get the newspaper. But we're still slated for temps in the 90s the next two days. By Sunday, there should be somewhat cooler temps in the 80s.
