Out of curiousity, what do DRs think of John Wayne's film career?

I see that DR tomovoz holds a major dislike for Wayne, while I find him a fascinating "movie star."  A world without the films Wayne made with Howard Hawks would seem a very sad world to me.  St. Patrick's Day without THE QUIET MAN would be most unseemly.

Yes, DRTCB....I thought I was as up to date as I could possibly get.  Imagine getting a different FONT just by changing your daisy wheel?  And you could use correction tape right ON the page.  No more messy white out.

Wonders why DRJANE says "u" - but I won't ask.

Miss Blue is back from the doggie beauty parlor, wearing her lovely newly brushed coat and a witch and goblin scarf.

Well, DR td - since I am not writing any reviews that I know of - I have lots of time to watch DVD's.

As for Mr Wayne.....I like several of his films for various reasons:

TRUE GRIT
THE SEARCHERS
THE CONQUEROR
STAGECOACH
RIO BRAVO

More wildlife in the garden yesterday.

DP Colin and our friend Peter (the one I have been visiting so often in hospital this past year).

Well, I took Callie to the new vet today.  The "senior" vet in the office was out so I went to a young woman who seemed to be right out of school.  I gave her the xrays and the notes from the other vet and she seemed a bit overwhelmed by it, but went in the back for awhile and came back with some really practical solutions.

She also noticed that Callie had a temp and thinks she has an infection of some sort right now, so we're treating her with antibiotics.  She gave her some fluids, told me she would show me how to do it and could give me a set up for them so I could give them to her if there was an emergency.  She told me about 2 prescription foods that are low residue and gave me samples of both to try.  She did an exam and Callie isn't going because she isn't eating...no problem there.

So, I'm not sure exactly what's wrong right now, but I gave her the antibiotic tonight and we'll see how it goes. She isn't well, but....

The young vet is going to consult with the other vet tomorrow and will get back to me.   It's like going from the high tech modern vet hospital to the mom and pop vet clinic.  So far I like it. Much more teaching me how to manage the situation .

The most telling thing was Callie purred the entire time we were there.

The other vet didn't call, but he usually has Wednesday afternoons off, so I didn't expect him to.

I"m cautiously optimistic about this vet. I am hoping that she spends more time on each case if she is fairly new at this.  The other vet at that office is the one who was so highly recommended.  I'm willing to give her a chance. We'll see what happens.   She did tell me to add a little more lactalose and skip the pill that Callie chokes on. We'll see how that works out.
