Okay, let's get some postin' goin' on.  We're on a little lunch break.  I think that what's left is the act two finale, the curtain call, and All About Men.

Our Winter From Hell continues into spring with Betsy and the boys all having flu, and me with a new sore throat and ear canal pain.  Oy.

I spent most of yesterday dealing with a brouhaha at the review site, where one of the more self-important reviewers decided that two of my reviews (out of probably 200 at this point) didn't meet his criteria, despite the fact that not one reader, nor any of the editors who approve the reviews, had complained.  He really went ballistic when I had the audacity to answer his complaints in the public reviewers' forum where he had posted them, and also for challenging an out and out factual error he had posted (not to mention his spelling errors, but that was just for fun on my part  ;D).

This guy, who writes the most bloated, ridiculously lengthy reviews I have ever read, and who prides himself on being part of some society of critics that only allows membership based on number of words per review, deserves to be taken down a peg or two, so I am thinking of developing a website entitled:  (Insert Critic's Name Here)IsTheMostBloatedGasbagofallTime.com.  I think that has a certain ring to it, don't y'all?

On a slightly related topic--has anyone else gotten around to "Hit the Deck" in the new MGM set?  The soundtrack is awful, IMHO--something is definitely wrong.  I need to do some research on this.
I'm sorry your having such a hard winter.  But it's Spring now and things should go better.

As for your "friend" the reviewer,  it's amazing how something can set some people off.  One has to wonder what drives such people.

I hate to say it but we're starting to get some really heavy rain now.  Guess I'll sign off until it passes.

There is just one problem with it.  It is so high that poor Bear can't climb up.

This is good and bad.  Bad because I know how badly he wants to come up with me.  He laid his head on the side and cried a little bit.

Good because he has fallen off the old bed and with this one being so high, I'm very afraid that he would hurt himself if he fell from it.

I put the dog bed I bought for him to use at the kennel beside the bed.  I hope he learns to sleep on it.

I think that Bear is a little too big for those pets steps lke I have for the kitties, but maybe he could get used to a metal step stool.

Mine didn't even ship until today, so I won't have it in hand until at least Wednesday.

Good afternoon!

Very disconcerting not being able to log in this morning. Glad things are back to normal.

We've got partly cloudy but sunny skies here, and it's warm. I've been inside, of course, doing my usual Sunday chores including washing, drying, and folding the laundry.

I began my afternoon of viewing with another MR. WONG movie, this one being THE MYSTERIOUS MR. WONG. I did not get the murderer's identity correct, but I nevertheless enjoyed this little B-picture (They're all Monogram films, so they have very low budgets. Even with that limitation, the plots are rather snappy and fun.)

No effort has been put into cleaning up these old films, but they play just fine even with missing frames, scratches, and other blemishes.

I spent the majority of this afternoon watching ANGELS IN AMERICA. I didn't quite get through the third part. I should be able to finish it and the rest of it this evening before my prime time TV line-up kicks in.

I hadn't seen ANGELS IN AMERICA since enjoying it during its premiere run on HBO-HD. This is the sDVD set which looks fine anamorphically enhanced as it is, but I'd love to have the movie in HD one day.

TV Reminders:

COLD CASE and DEXTER on CBS tonight.

MONK AND PSYCH get their first HD network showings on NBC tonight. (No, DR Jennifer, they are not the pilot episodes.)

THE TUDORS on Showtime

JOHN ADAMS on HBO

Wow! A busy Sunday of shows even without ABC's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and BROTHERS & SISTERS.

In case you were wondering, there's over 400 pounds of smiling faces standing on that red trunk!

$110 at TRUNKOUTLET

Sadly, I don't which is why I am SO looking forward to seeing PSYCH in HD on NBC. I may not watch it "live," but it will definitely be recorded for viewing tomorrow if I don't see it tonight.

Easily when the site is off-line for hours at a time. I think this is a fine number of posts for the number of hours that posting has been available.

Yes, my cable company offers TBS-HD and VERSUS-HD (heaven help us), but no USA-HD.

Who knows why they do this?

I'm going to head down now to clean the guest bath, put away the folded clothes, and then it's back to the den for more ANGELS IN AMERICA and then grand HD viewing for the evening.
