Oh, I love Black Bear, Cillaliz. I am glad there isn't one too close! I love the Shasta Scramble, and yesterday I had the crab omelet that is one of the summer specials. It was the only thing I ate all day.

Yes, I had oatmeal today.

Interesting story of babies switched at birth.  This one has a happy ending. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100731/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_brazil_switched_at_birth

We are currently getting a sprinkling of rain. Accuweather shows a very large storm headed my way. I wonder if THIS one will make it here?

I know what you mean, Laura.  It has been almost ten days since we had rain.

No big storm, but we got a few minutes of gentle rain. Very unusual for summer.

The football meatloaf is a cute idea for a football watching party.  But I don't think I would use pimento for the laces.

I needed to buy a new funnel for refilling my cleaning bottle from the large economy refill bottle.  Since my hands shake, it is not really a good idea to try to refill it freestyle.

When I went to the supermarket, I first looked in the cooking ware aisle, then the automotive aisle, and finally the cleaning products aisle, thinking that they might have it hanging there as an impulse buy.  No luck.  When I going through the checkstand the clerk asked me if I found everything.

I answered, "Actually no, I was looking to buy a funnel."

He stared at me for the longest time before he asked, "You mean, like a coffee funnel?"

I looked at him for the longest time before I answered, "Ahh, no."

We didn't continue the conversation.

So, no one bothered to listen to my hour-long interview on KGIL - I even provided a link and everything.  Well, I've heard from some complete strangers who liked it very much, so that's nice at least.

As I said, podcast available at  www.retro1260.com

I've noticed some markets have extra kitchen stuff above the vegetables, others by the dairy or both.   Time to let your fingers do the walking ;)  Good luck.  I'm sure you'll find one.

Yes I did watch the VIEW, although not just for the President (although i did want to see him).  I actually like the show and record it every day.

I hope you know I wasn't teasing you, it just seemed a bit ironic that the only person who admitted watching the US pres. on the View is from Canada.

No, I didn't mind how you said it.  Actually it was interesting to watch the President and see how the co-hosts reacted to him. Elisabeth, who I would have thought would not have liked him was in awe of him.

He was very charming. And he seemed to have a magneticism that drew them all in. The only thing I will say is that most of his answers were quite drawn out vs being concise. But I guess if you're the President it's better to elaborate vs seeming stupid.

Seems like a sensible query from the clerk; home coffee brewers often need to replace the funnels on their coffee makers:

I wonder if the reports that AMERICAN IDOL fired Kara are true. I hope not (but i'm guessing they are). I was happy that Ellen decided not to come back. And I get why they'd want a bigger name like J. Lo. But I actually like Kara. She made smart comments.

They say it will be Jennifer Lopez, Randy and Steven Tyler.
