Can anyone tell me why a copy of the flopsical "First Impressions" would be selling for $160 on Amazon? Last Christmas, or so it seemed, it was selling for $8 on DRG.

Many years ago, I was in SLC over the holidays visiting my parents and I wandered into a little used record store near downtown.  They had a FABOO collection of old OBCs there that I had never been able to find--stuff like "First Impressions," "Christine," etc., all sealed, mint, stereo.  I went a little nuts and bought a pile o'LP's for myself that day.  :)

Belated vibes to the needy, and alms to the poor.

Dr Edi I can't stop thinking about what you are going through today and hope there will be good in the day as well as pain.  I'm very moved how you came to love you step mother and her family.

I'm actually trying to remember everything I found there--I remember I was gobsmacked at the time.  This was WAAAY before the internets, and I had been searching for rarer OBCs for years in Goldmine, etc., to no avail.  I know I picked up at least 5 or 6 really rare things that day, and none of them were hideously priced.

Ditto!

DR DakotaCelt - I thought of you the other night when we went to the Montgomery Inn Boathouse for my brother-in-law's surprise party.  Hadn't been there since we went there in April!

I once found a trove like that, but used and hideously overpriced. They had "Flahooley," the revival of "House of Flowers" (now on Kritzerland), and a few others. But I was poor and in college ... hey, that sounds like my upcoming year, if I ever hear about getting accepted into grad school.

Resume vibes for DR FJL.

DR MBARNUM just sent me the 1964 Japanese Recording of Annie Get Your Gun, which I am sure will be a NEW favorite of mine.

TOD:

From Kritzerland:

Earth vs The Spider/Attack of the 50 Foot Woman
Sugar
Promises, Promises
Promises, Promises LONDON
The Boy and the Pirates
Saint Joan

Others:

The Sherman Brothers Songbook
Beach Blanket Bingo Original Score & Backing Tracks
Red by John Stevens
Sal - The Complete Epic Recordings, Sal Mineo

Many others.....but these are my favorite.....right now.

DR Elmore - thank you for posting about Bryn Terfel's Christmas CD!  I've always wanted him to do one and, now, Richard has ordered it for me!

This is quite clever

It is, indeed!  My cousin from Spain sent it to me and I sent it to my DH Fr. Richard.  He loved it and said I won't go to hell for sharing it!
