My new DE-humidifier is working like a champ.

The difference all around the house is just wonderfu.

Surprised myself. 

I pushed and pushed and made things happen.

It wasn't easy with my hip issues, but that is getting better, too.

Good for you. I hope to do the same with my house tomorrow.

None whatsoever. Just that my mom has never met Jane, nor have I really talked to her about the people from here that I've met.

  I didn't realize she was unaware of us.

Well, I've talked in general about HHW, but not about specific people.

So, yesterday, I discovered something about my car fob.  There's an actual key!  I should've known this and found that one is inside the fob...which makes perfect sense:

I can't believe they didn't show you where the key is hidden.  You will need that if the battery on the fob dies.

Yes, I would.  But I'm pretty sure I would've either figured it out or come across it when (if?) I read any of the manuals.

So, today is the day that we're celebrating my mom's 80th birthday.  People are coming over to her house around 1:00.  There's going to be a potluck and a good time will be had by all.  I forgot that that was today and signed up for ushering (this time it WILL be happening), but I'll only be about an hour late, if even that.  My scheduled call time is 10:30 and it's scheduled to go to 2:00.  People will stay a long time at my mom's, so I won't miss much.

The ushering this morning went quite well.

Got a Philly cheese from some jernt called Juicy's. It arrived and it was the worst thing ever. I ate it because it cost fifteen bucks - stale bread, overcooked meat that seemed like it had been sitting around for hours, melted cheese that seemed like it had been sitting around for hours - in fact, the entire sandwich felt like it had been made at five o'clock and delivered at eight. Turns out it's one of those ghost kitchens in another restaurant called Milan's Pizza. I called them and told the owner of Milan's that they're gonna get a bad rep from Juicy's. Of course, there's no Yelp page for obvious reasons - but, there is now, thanks to me and my one-star review. I ordered through Uber Eats - I lodged a complaint and they say they'll get back to you but I doubt they will. DoorDash, you can get someone on the phone. Not with Uber Eats.

It was the end of the season festival showcase for a local dance school.

I was enjoyable in a disinterested usher kind of way.

When that was over, I went to my mom's.

A little more than a dozen people were there, and people were still eating, do I just dug right in.

I ate too much, but I showed my new car to several people.

[George]

Everyone was suitably impressed...mainly that it was a new car.

We hung around at my mom's for a few hours, then I went to my sister's and chatted a bit with my cousin John and his wife Angel who are staying at my sister's

They're leaving in the morning to go back to their home in Oregon, so it was nice to say goodbye.

[George]

And then I cam home and NEED to nap!

I just can't keep my eyes open, so I won't try.

It was a fine sold-out closing night, and a fun li’l cast par-tay was had. It's a good group and I'd be happy to return sometime.

DR Jrand71, that's astounding that they charged you nothing. That's a mechanic you want to keep. I would also keep a bottle of the appropriate coolant with me from now on, or at least have some at home, since they couldn't actually fix the leak.

I went through something similar, and they finally found it. There's a very weird, almost deformed looking pipe that was corroded and leaking. It was a challenge to replace, so they had to charge me. But my mechanic has got to be one of the most honest anywhere, and they are quick to give a break when the circumstances warrant it.

At least the management is aware of the mess, but if the building goes up in flames, I may be going with it. I will not leave the cats behind, and trying to evacuate while struggling with a walker and trying to get three cats into their carriers while they're in a panic is truly terrifying.

Like you, Larry, I would never be able to get these brats into their carriers.  The good news is I have sprinklers throughout the condo.  Not that I ever want them to go off!!

I forgot I found a brother......so I put some bait out for two more.  We shall see if either or both of them get caught in the trap.

Jrand, now that George has his new car, he can pick me up, and we will drive out and do your show.  I know I am too old to be a brother, but when I dye my hair and slap on the morticians wax, I can pass for 65.

When Entertainment Weekly went caput, the publisher subbed out People. The latest issue has just arrived, and I am breathless to read the cover story all about the Jonas Brothers.     

Oh, wow, I haven’t gotten my issue yet.

This afternoon we saw the tour of "Come  From Away." It was excellent.

I love that show.
