Well the S'More Entertainment Season Six of The Danny Thomas Show arrived yesterday.

It's great! All of the ORIGINAL titles are at the beginning of each episode, the episodes are broadcast NOT syndicated. There are interviews with Angela Cartwright, Marjorie Lord, and Sid Melton. The Angela and Marjorie interviews are very nice. The questions are edited out and they just talk about the show and the other cast members.

Lord says she was completely typecast and unable to work in anything else, except a Bob Hope movie - and tells a funny story about introducing her real husband to an Indianapolis matron at a party only to be told angrily that she was "married to Danny Thomas!"

The episodes are fun....Hans Conreid, Lucy & Desi, William Demarest (as Lord's father), Dinah Shore, Tony Bennett, and Annette Funicello all make guest appearances.

A fun show.....get it if you can....especially if you enjoyed the show years ago. There is also about 10 minutes of bloopers and retakes that will make you smile.

Muchos Gracias to all the well-wishers from yesterday, and apologies for the errant-and-truant-ness.

The Lovely Wife(tm) and I sat down to watch the Back to the Future trilogy this past week for the first time (she'd never seen the second, and I only saw the third movie once, back in the theater), and we got a huge kick out of seeing all the inter-related characterizations and scenes, many of which were quite subtle (in the first movie, fr'instance, the mall where Marty meets the professor is called "twin pines". At the movie end, the camera pans across the mall, which is now called "single pine mall" or something similar, since Marty knocked over one of the trees in the past in an earlier scene. Very subtle, doesn't hurt you if you don't get it, but probably missed by 95% of the original audience).

Question for bk: what's your favorite movie in-joke or subtle reference?
