Was he the "prince" of the Putnam County Playhouse auditioners or is there a concept I'm missing?

I think if you search my comments on Hollywood or Bust you'll find that I am a bit harsher on the transfer, which I thought basically a disaster.  The only GREAT transfer in the set is Artists and Models, and while the color is eye-popping, even it isn't sharp enough.  The other transfers are all fine, if unexceptional.

Will we never get to page fourteen?

Seriously, can believe thirteen pages before two o'clock my time?

I've been in the garage preparing packages for shipment tomorrow morning.

TOD -

iPod - A Sondheim playlist (go figure)

that's all.

Does anyone know what happened with Ken Mandelbaum?  He hasn't posted on Broadway.com in over a year.  Did he retire?

I don't know if anyone read this yesterday

Besides the stupidity of the work that was "destroyed" or whatever, I think it's cool that his cat's name is Otto, the same as my miniature schnauzer, maybe it's a sign :)

It's about time to head off to an MRI.  The clinic is at 59th and Seventh Avenue, so I'll finally get to stop into the Borders at Columbus Circle.

Maybe it's Lloyd Webber's attempt to abandon a project that sounded ridiculous from the get-go?

I've heard nothing about WEHT Mr Mandelbaum. We once were friends but after crowning himself high priest of the musical, he attached himself to Mr Ethan Mordden, and they've been a coven ever since. He seems to have stepped down from the pontiff's chair. I heard a rumor that the notorious illegal videotaper who was caught too many times and banned from theatres was he, but I only repeat a rumor I'd heard.  If true, that would explain part of it but who's to know?

I read your comments, but it didn't think you watched every one of those  movies all the way through. If you did, you did it in record time.  I did watch HOLLYWOOD OR BUST all the way through, hence my comments.

Yes, that's true--it was the "Mambo #5" of it's time.
Despite the heavy rotation and the fact is was #1 here ,I didn't catch up with Mambo #5 for ages.  Eventually - Ah! It was the old Perez Prado tune from the 50's and hadn't changed much at all.

Everything old is new again. (a PA reference)

Mandelbaum did seem to disappear off the face of the earth. I know some people here had problems with him, but I always enjoyed his writing even when I didn't agree with everything he wrote.

Good luck with those Bedroom and Hall DR TCB. I gave my copy away VERY QUICKLY. (But then some people liked Jeffrey and Big Eden.  (Being "Gay" movies does not make them good!).

"Bear Cub" is a good movie!

I have watched all the Martin and Lewis films in the volume two set.  And that includes all of Hollywood or Bust, which I believe I wrote about separately.

I posted on another board that whenever ALW needs to keep his name alive in the papers, he pulls out the Phantom sequel - he's been doing it for years.  My guess is someone has read my ongoing commentary on this (I have posted about it every time he has - and have written several columnists about it), and contacted him and laid down the guantlet - let's hear some of this sequel.  Hence, the cat destroyed it - as if ALW wouldn't have it backed up somewhere.  Puhleeze.

No, being gay-themed does not make them good automatically, but I genuinely liked JEFFREY and BIG EDEN (the latter especially) very much.

BEDROOMS & HALLWAYS is now more interesting for its cast than for the story, but even it has its moments.

I have that %#**%$(^ kitchen floor to mop, so I'd better head down now and get to it.

Then, I want to do a little reading before settling in with tonight's viewing.

Michael Ball -  from Kismet's romantic lead to drag.  I guess that's the fickle finger of fate.

Didn't Dame Kiri sing the Phantom 2's big song on ALW's Birthday tribute?
The song was then recycled for "The Beautiful Game".  Much as "I Don't Talk To Strangers" ended up in Phantom 1. (All I Ask Of You).

"Firefly" -- standard DVD of complete series.

I got me some TV watching to do.

Can someone who "knows" answer this question:

Who is the current "queen bitch" of Broadway?
