Page 6 Meena Kumari dance!!

(this was my other Bollywood movie of the weekend: 1955 comedy titled MISS MARY starring the late Meena Kumari and singer Kishore Kumar)

Poor Meena took a few too many nips of the bottle over the years and died at a very young age  :'(

Next I watched last night's premiere of THE CLASS. Loved most of it with an excellent collection of characters that have space to grow and develop. Some good comedy and some drama, too.

I agree - some of the best comedy writing in some time.

We also enjoyed the pilot of "Studio 60" - hope they can keep it up.

Here's a picture of my love-cat---much larger than when I brought him home, on the cover of a book. I like to think of him as the Fabio of the cat world!

Is the book about your love cat?  I had a tuxedo cat that lived to seventeen.  She was near death when she walked into our apartment and claimed us.

Our Echo was almost 10 when we lost her. She was the smallest Bernese we ever saw with a top weight of 65 pounds.  Boy could she move, kept up with every Border Collie we knew.

Well, the fridge finely went below forty so I guess it just took time for it to cool down.  The washer, however, will have to go back because everytime I turn it on water comes out from under it.

And then Mommy has to leave for NYC!   :)  Talk about a hard thing to do!  Oh, and do I take it you got the boy?  I thought that was the one the breeder was keeping.  Good for you!

You bet!!  The breeder is keeping one girl and three boys.  The fourth boy, and pick of the males, has the blue eye so she can't show him. She is very dissapointed.  Originally we wanted a girl.

Yes, a new NIP/TUCK tonight but opposite a new LAW & ORDER: SVU and a new BOSTON LEGAL. Decisions, decisions. Oh, I'll see them all, but I have to decide what to see "live" and what to record for viewing tomorrow.

You think you got problems - here's my line-up:

8 PM - Watch "House", record "NCIS
9 PM - Watch "Law & Order CI, record "The Unit" - miss out on "Standoff"
10 PM - Watch "Law & Order - SVU", record "Smith" (pilot)

And I'll have to watch "House" and tape at the same time because the chef asked to be picked-up at 8:30 (a good idea if I want to eat)

der Brucer

And tomorrows no better:
Jericho - pilot
Bones
Criminal Minds
Justice
CSI-NY
Kidnapped - pilot

I thought I would run out of time before I could get that photo up and online.  After I snapped it, I had to resize it and then upload it to Photobucket then link it to here.  Whew!

This Verizon card is pretty fast to allow me to get all of that done in the short time I have.

This morning I had a lovely brunch with my friend who's leaving this Sunday on a major boating excursion.  This afternoon I taught the September edition of "Grantseeking Basics" to a lively group of 19.  This evening I'm going to watch the season premiers of NCIS and Boston Legal.

TV GUIDE's Matt Roush said the second episode of STUDIO 60 is even better than the pilot.

It got nicely sampled last night in the ratings though CSI: MIAMI did get a larger audience (but it was off a couple of million viewers from its season premiere last year).

In fact, NBC and CBS both had good nights in the ratings last night (NBC won the night by .2 in rating and about 800,000 viewers, so it was close). ABC and Fox suffered in comparison.

But it's for the children (heard that before!)

Associated Press

Quote

Gonzales Calls for Law Demanding Preservation of Internet Customer Data
Tuesday , September 19, 2006

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Tuesday that Congress should require Internet providers to preserve customer records, asserting that prosecutors need them to fight child pornography.

Gonzales and FBI Director Robert Mueller have met with several Internet providers, including Time Warner Inc.'s AOL, Comcast Corp., Google Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Verizon Communications Inc.

The law enforcement officials have indicated to the companies they must retain customer records, possibly for two years. The companies have discussed strengthening their retention periods — which currently run the gamut from a few days to about a year — to help avoid legislation.

During those meetings, which took place earlier this summer, Justice Department officials asserted that customer records would help them investigate child pornography cases. But the FBI also said during the meetings that such records would help their terrorism investigations, said one person who attended the meetings but spoke on condition of anonymity because the meetings were intended to be private.

Many nights during the week, I have this exact same problem. Too many shows, not enough time (or recording space!)

I will never understand the showing of dogs.

Standards for the Bernese Mountain Dog have changed very little over the years, and only for the better unlike some other breeds.  Why people show there dogs is another question.  ;D  I expect Sherlocks parents, especially his mother, could make it to Westminster if the breeder where so inclined, but she isn't.
