Yes I found FOTRE a bit slow, too.....but there's almost always something or someone to look at....and NO CGI.

For me - CGI makes everything look like a big video/computer game - and it is very distracting.

In case no one else mentioned it, director Robert Mulligan (TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, UP THE DOWN STAIRCASE) died. He did some wonderful films.

Boy, I would save up for an electric garage door. I don't remember them being horrifically expensive. $150 maybe? I could be wrong. I had mine installed almost 30 years ago and only had to replace the spring on it once.

Well, I've surfed enough for this afternoon, so I'm going to head down now and get the presents into the car and then be on my way to the dinner. (Early because there are kids in the house.)

Claudia Barrett is from ROBOT MONSTER...I think JRAnd might be confusing that film with THE ASTRO ZOMBIES.

ROBOT MONSTER!?!?

What is it with you guys and these shlocky movies?

I am the king of kulture, DR DRuxy.

My garage would require not only a garage door opener, but a new garage door, and that will run a bit more then $150.00, unfortunately.

I think I would enjoy Interlude better if someone other then June Allyson was in the lead.

Bruce, Gmail has a feature where it will pick up another one of your email addresses. I've never used it, but I assume that the messages go right into Gmail.  Anyone here used this?

DR Jeanne - our DS Rob was just telling us yesterday that a lot of students at his university have their school email picked up by their Gmail accounts.  He chooses not to do that, because the U system provides some "fail-safes" that are useful when instructors claim not to have received take-home exams that were, indeed, sent on time.

...and, as the romantic lead, Gerard Butler at his sexiest.
You mean he was still wearing that costume from The 300? ? ?

DR Jane have you ever thought of getting a snow blower!  I mean if Keith has to shovel the road it could really help!

Shoveling is still required in areas the snow blower doesn't work.  Keith uses the snow blower & then shovels.

How are things at the Nursie Lassner Wedding Chapel today? Did her DIL-to-be arrive safely? I may have missed that part of the saga.

Future DIL arrived without any problems, just late at night.

I'm glad you are beginning to feel better. DS Craig is coming down with a cold & my sinus problem, or whatever it is, is worst.

I am out to do another round of driveway shoveling.  It's over three feet in places.  This is truly astounding for Portland.

Back from getting licensed reattached - I had to go to the car dealer's to buy the holder, which they make specially because when I bought my car in 1998 it was not a law that you had to have the front plate on your car and the cars of that era were not designed to have the plate.  That cost seventy bucks (!) and then I had a local station attach it, which took five minutes and cost ten bucks.

I'd post snow pictures, but we haven't had any.

It's cold enough, but we haven't had any precipitation.

I'm browning a roast... there will be pot roast tonight.  Probably with some red wine in the braising liquid.
