Slow day here at HHW, my walk was awesome, nice neighborhoods and streets around my apartment, and there's nothing like a brisk walk to get the day started, even at 10:00am!

Oh...

Toothpaste - Mentadent - I liked the type that came in the regular toothpaste tubes rather than those pump deals. However, the stuff in the tubes is getting harder to find.

I've tried using some of the 'classics' - Crest, Colgate, etc - but for some unknown reason they never fully rinse from my mouth, teeth, gums. A few hours later, I would sometimes find some "gunk" on my tongue. I asked my dentist about it, and he was thinking it was due to the fact that I had very healthy teeth (never had a cavity <knock wood>), and that some of the stuff in those toothpastes that are supposed to go into the surface of the teeth, would not absorb fully. So.. Sounded good to me.

Topic of the Day:

Toothpaste: whatever Costco has. Right now it's an orange colored (but not flavored) AquaFresh. It has a eucalyptus/menthol taste that took almost a whole tube to get used to. Now, it's okay, but at first it was pretty gross.

Anti-perspirant: whatever Costco has. Right now, I don't remember. I actually have three different kinds and switch off every few days.

Shaving cream: whatever is cheapest at whatever store I go to when I run out. Right now, some very cheap (totally-off) brand that I got at Grocery Outlets for only 99¢...with 33% extra for free!

Soap: whatever Costco has. Right now, some new Irish Spring blue stuff. Before that was Zest!

Shampoo: Head & Shoulders...only. My only brand loyalty.

Cologne: I don't wear the stuff (too many "scent sensitive" people at work). I have some Pierre Cardin (sp?) that someone gave me and on a whim, I bought a four-pack called "Cuba." There are four different versions (green, blue, red and orange) in cigar-shaped spritzer bottles and I actually like a couple of them, but I never get a chance to wear it.

Soap: whatever is on sale, with preferences for Irish Spring and Zest

I have never bought a bed for myself. The two I've owned since living away from home were both hand-me-downs. The first was a double bed that my brother didn't want any more which I used in my first two apartments and in the guest room of this house for quite a few years.

The one in my bedroom now is the one my ex- brought with him when we moved into this house. When he left, he left the mattress since we were using the frame and headboard that went with my first bed (mattress and box springs) which was in the guest bedroom. When he left, he left the queen-sized bed (no quips, please) in the master bedroom and took the guest bedroom for himself. I bought a futon for the guest bedroom. (Does that count as a bed?)

Watched all of SPIDER-MAN 2 this afternoon. On the larger screen, the CGI Spider-Man sequences stick out very obviously. Obviously more sophisticated technically, but it's the same principle that they used in those old SUPERMAN serials which would switch to a cartoon Superman whenever he needed to fly.

For my next choice, I pulled from the to-watch shelf Brian De Palma's BODY DOUBLE. Another of his Hitchcock "tributes" (this one to REAR WINDOW), I only got about 10 minutes of it watched, so I've barely started it. There's a Dolby Surround 2.0 track that they've got cranked WAY up (the music in those first few minutes was VERY loud), and the transfer looks OK so far. Not super sharp, but it's an older movie, and they've probably used an old element for the transfer.
