Well, you've read the notes, the notes had its moments, and now it is time for you to post until the had its moments cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EPICUREAN!
-
I was just about to get us to last night's Page Six, but the day got locked. ::)
It happens. ;)
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I have no wisdom to impart at this moment.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, I'm happy to report.
-
I've seen Yvette Mimieux, to my knowledge, in two movies, Where the Boys Are and The Time Machine.
-
Today is my long Lenox Hill day. After radiation, I have a conference with Dr. Blacksburg, the radiologist.
-
DR Jeanne, thanks for the recommendation on the Ida Cook biography.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Morning.
-
DR TCB gave good advice last night.
If you are looking for any governmental program, only trust those sites that end in .gov.
-
I cannot imagine what today has in store. It feels like Thursday, but it's Wednesday. I think.
I updated my calendar today. So many appointments over the next three months, half of them routine.
-
We are now under a winter storm watch as of 1 a.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Saturday.
Sigh.
The possibility is sleet and freezing rain. Again.
Sigh.
I like winter, but I don't like sleet and freezing rain.
Sigh.

These are Morning Buns. They are available at all locations of La Farine, the French patisserie in the Bay Area.
-
One of those morning buns could change my whole outlook on life!
-
I have not yet found any pastry, locally, that compares to any of the pastries I had access to in the Bay Area.
-
Since no one is here but me and 0 guests, I guess it's time for me to mosey on along to somewhere else.
-
Wednesday.
-
I ordered my four free covid tests at this .gov site.
https://www.covidtests.gov/
There is a link there that takes you to a USPS site where you enter your name and address and then "checkout." No charge no additional information requested. Tests to be mailed in late January, which I thought it was already.
-
'morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got the all-clear from the oral surgeon, so I’m celebrating with popcorn.
-
Popcorn is a wonderful way to celebrate.
-
I got my sixth, and final, Thin Man blu ray in the mail today!!! "The Song of the Thin Man" completes the run.
-
I went to Riley's on Main, which is actually on Calhoun Street, for lunch. Limas, rice with milk gravy, chicken tenders, a pork chop and a cheddar biscuit were my selections.
Very tasty.
-
Why are we still on page 1 at this hour of the day? Do folks take a Wednesday hiatus or something?
-
It's unseemly.
-
Not at all usual, is it?
-
Page 2

Even if the quality varies, the martinis are always dry.

YAY!

I wish I like martinis.

Access-a-Ride was 10 minutes early, the radiation treatment was early, and after I saw Dr Blacksburg, it was not yet 1:00. I took a taxi to my pharmacy, picked up four prescriptions, and I am home.
Not a bad day. So far.

It occurred to Pooh and Piglet that they hadn't heard from Eeyore for several days, so they put on their hats and coats and trotted across the Hundred Acre Wood to Eeyore's stick house. Inside the house was Eeyore.
"Hello Eeyore," said Pooh.
"Hello Pooh. Hello Piglet," said Eeyore, in a Glum Sounding Voice.
"We just thought we'd check in on you," said Piglet, "because we hadn't heard from you, and so we wanted to know if you were okay."
Eeyore was silent for a moment. "Am I okay?" he asked, eventually. "Well, I don't know, to be honest. Are any of us really okay? That's what I ask myself. All I can tell you, Pooh and Piglet, is that right now I feel really rather Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. Which is why I haven't bothered you. Because you wouldn't want to waste your time hanging out with someone who is Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All, would you now."
Pooh looked at Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh, and they both sat down, one on either side of Eeyore in his stick house.
Eeyore looked at them in surprise. "What are you doing?"
"We're sitting here with you," said Pooh, "because we are your friends. And true friends don't care if someone is feeling Sad, or Alone, or Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. True friends are there for you anyway. And so here we are."
"Oh," said Eeyore. "Oh." And the three of them sat there in silence, and while Pooh and Piglet said nothing at all; somehow, almost imperceptibly, Eeyore started to feel a very tiny little bit better.
Because Pooh and Piglet were There.
No more; no less.

I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of sleep - uninterrupted.

Thank you for that respite, DR Ron Pulliam. And quite timely, as A.A. Milne's birthday was just yesterday.

I finally figured out how to play. How? A local news station has a weekly "tech" report pointing out neat things on the internet. They actually played a game online. I didn't quite get that I was doing separate words seeking a final solution. Don't know why, but I have enjoyed playing the past week.

Minnesota has passed a law that would "lock the clock" on Daylight Savings, so we would join Arizona in not changing our clocks. Apparently it must now be approved by Congress in Washington D.C.
-
Also, MN Department of Transportation has an annual contest to name new snowplows.
Last year, winners were "Darth Blader" and "Plowy McPlowFace."
On the ballot this year are "Betty Whiteout" and "The Big Leplowski."

“This was what war did! It emptied towns of their inhabitants as it emptied veins of their blood; it killed houses and lands as well as men. Out there, a few miles beyond the sunny vineyards and the low hills, men were dying at that very moment by hundreds, by thousands—and their motionless young bodies must have the same unnatural look as these wan ruins, these gutted houses and sterile fields.... War meant Death, Death, Death—Death everywhere and to everything.”

Cheery passage from one of my books.

Wednesday evening greetings! I had a routine midday appointment with my cardiologist, then spent the afternoon doing this and that for 2 of my 3 women’s organizations.

If I remember correctly, Washington state also passed a similar law. I completely agree with it.

My library only has it as The Bravest Voices.

You get very interesting winter weather there.

Approval is only needed in order to stay on Daylight Saving Time, not stay on regular times as they do in Arizona & Hawaii. Locking the clock on Daylight Saving time would mean you will switch in the spring and never change back.
-
California, Oregon, & Washington voted to lock the clock and have yet to receive Congressional approval.
-
I googles and found that a total of 19 states want to stay on Daylight Saving time all year round.

Hello, George.

Tonight I watched REOPENING - THE BROADWAY REVIVAL. It was okay.
-
In honor of Betty White, I have started binge watching THE GOLDEN GIRLS.
-
I could have sworn that George was here.
-
This not being able to drive is driving me crazy.
-
Not that I have any place that I have to go, I just want to go for a drive.
-
I need to get my prescriptions delivered. I guess I will have to use Uber, or one of the others, and pay up the nose for the delivery.
-
Hmm, maybe George went to bed?
-
Hello, George.
Hi, Tom.
-
I could have sworn that George was here.

I need to get my prescriptions delivered. I guess I will have to use Uber, or one of the others, and pay up the nose for the delivery.
Darn! I have Kaiser, and I can get mine mailed for free...not the prescriptions themselves, of course, but free delivery through the mail. :-\
-
Hmm, maybe George went to bed?
Well, I'm on my bed, but I'm not sleeping...yet.
-
I don't think I slept four hours
last night this morning, so I REALLY need to go to bed right after the day changes and hope that I can actually get to sleep.
-
Sleep vibes to DR George!

Thanks, Tom!
