Topic of the Day: I wasn't born until 1966. :)Goodnight Young George.
Deb/Vixmom, no I haven't yet found/received a Wyoming State Quarter.
bk - Do you want the score or vocal selections version of "Lost In the Wilderness"?
bk, thanks for the screen shot comparisons last evening...very interesting.
You'd think that someone can/would come up with some sort of color standardization scheme for film color hue, density, & saturation.

And the word of the day is: SUSURROUS!
And The Song Of The Day Is: WHISPERING
I can only hear Les Paul and Mary Ford doing this one!
;)
I was still in my mom's tummy when Kennedy was shot. I believe my sister was home (sick?) watching TV when the announcement came.
I don't know from the theories.
DR Elmore, I read a review of that new holiday box set that contains MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS, and the reviewer was shocked to see that the original title BABES IN TOYLAND has been restored to the film used in the transfer. They were also very complimentary about the way it looked (it's in the original black and white, not the colorized version that is so prevalent.)
My DH and I had dinner at a nearby Italian place. When we went to pay our bill, we were informed that it had already been paid by someone who was sitting a few tables away from us. He didn't even want them to tell us who paid for it.

DR Jane: I read with commiseration your description of your hand and how the ice pack seemed to help.

And along those lines: When Sen. Arlen Specter -- who co-authored the "magic bullet" theory -- was berating Anita Hill in the Congressional hearings over the nomination of Clarence Thomas for a seat on the Supreme Court, he asked her if she expected him to believe that a woman who was on a committee investigating the same kinds of harrassment that she was now accusing Thomas of would wait all those many years to step forward, I desperately wanted her to say, "Senator, I can't believe that you, of all people, would have trouble believing that it took me all those years. You, after all, having come up with the "magic bullet" theory, which is far less believable than anything I've said, thus far."
Have you had a chance yet to check out the local vet in case of an emergency?
It's not 100% certain, but it does look like both Mr. Menken and Mr. Schwartz will be in attendance for the fundraiser.
(in the too much information department, I can even recall she was fastening her panty hose to her girdle, LOL)
Despite the liberties/fictions interjected into Oliver Stone's screenplay for "JFK", I -- for one -- believe there is more truth to it than fiction.
This morning I looked in my living room, and this is what I saw:
Bubble and squeak (sometimes just called bubble) is a traditional English dish made with the shallow-fried leftover vegetables from a roast dinner. The chief ingredients are potato and cabbage, but carrots, peas, brussels sprouts, and other vegetables can be added. It is traditionally served with cold meat from the Sunday roast, and pickles. Traditionally the meat was added to the bubble and squeak itself, although nowadays the vegetarian version is more common. The cold chopped vegetables (and cold chopped meat if used) are fried in a pan together with mashed potato until the mixture is well-cooked and brown on the sides. The name is a description of the action and sound made during the cooking process.
Bruce, interesting you should mention bubble and squeak, Keith and i were discussing it yesterday.
then I have to figure out who'll sing it. It can be someone we have or a new person -
Where in tarnation IS everyone? I will now say that it's certain that Menken and Schwartz will be there.
Ginny, to me Ben's photo looks more like potato pancakes with veggies. i think i would like these. i wonder why my, English, mother never made them. maybe cuz she made great potato pancakes & used leftover mashed potatoes to fry in butter & then served topped with Golden Syrup-oh so yummy.
My mom makes a delicious potato bulbenik. Her latkes are very good, but the bulbenik is incredible.
i'm surprised. imdb shows him working as late as '94, and still alive. a shame
... like u i'm trying to be careful what i eat.
And the word of the day is: SUSURROUS!Willie and Toby were an amazing pair of cow thieves - their victims often reported that there was barely a SUSURRATION in the grasses while they were being rustled.
Where in tarnation IS everyone? I will now say that it's certain that Menken and Schwartz will be there. And, we're now trying to get a song from Enchanted - if we do, then I have to figure out who'll sing it. It can be someone we have or a new person - we shall see.Where is James Marsden when you need him!?
Good AfternoonNot so fast that you hurt him, I hope! :o
Applause! Applause! Applause!
-Which reminds me, about an hour or so ago, I ran into Jason Graae on Eighth Avenue as I was walking up to Columbus Circle.
That's all.
Not so fast that you hurt him, I hope! :o
Yesterday I got "Shirley MacLaine-Live at the Palace" from 1976. Interesting. There is a LONG segment from Some Came Running where she re-enacts a scene with Frank Sinatra. It' a little strange for my taste. Perhaps if I was sitting in the audience of the Palace Theatre in 1976 it would have played better. Oh, well.
I can only hear Les Paul and Mary Ford doing this one!
;)
I watched all of the special features on the disc which included a "making of" documentary, a TV special than ran 22 minutes, and 11 deleted scenes, none of which needed to be in the movie and were wisely cut (though Betty Buckley had one of her few scenes left on the cutting room floor).
I have never met Maryann Lopinto.
Come to think of it, I've never even heard of Maryann Lopinto.
She has probably never heard of me, either.
Something tells me Maryann may have a different definition of "everybody" than I have. ::)
My mom makes a delicious potato bulbenik. Her latkes are very good, but the bulbenik is incredible.
Lee Patterson had spent that last 15 or so years sailing on his boat, which made it particularly difficult for me to pin him down (no cracks DR Elmore) for an interview. Th
DR Ron Pulliam - And then there are those who "defiled" definition.
I didn't hear from the old vet today....guess I'll just have to add him to the list of men who haven't called ;)
Seriously, I have gone to him for 6 years. Between the money and time I spent on 3 different cats, you'd think he'd call me back. Either the front desk didn't tell him, or he didn't value me as the owner of two of his patients. It may sound funny, but that hurts my feelings.
Also consider how he might have learned of your decision to go elsewhere, and who the "filter" of your request was and how it may have been relayed to him.
He may not think you actually want him to call. It all depends on the message he actually received.
He, too, may feel hurt.
Yeah, or he may think I'm a psycho bitch from hell, but you'd think after 6 years he wouldn't think that.

I'm in concert with S. Woody on his salient comment:
Too bad JAMES MARSDEN (someone's very talented landlord with a gorgeous singing voice) isn't available!
(Or...is he?)

OH!!
And since we're sort of talking about Stephen Schwartz, and since yesterday was "Ask BK Day", well... -I just keep meaning to ask this....
A couple of years ago, one of the voice teachers I work with came across a song entitled, "Close Upon The Hour". It was listed as being from a musical versions of "The King of Hearts". And it was also listed as being composed by Stephen Schwartz. She even said she got it directly from him. However...
King of Hearts, the Musical was written by Peter Link and Jacob Brackman, and the song "Close Upon the Hour" is indeed the same song I have. Does anyone know if it's possible that Mr. Schwartz might have ghost-written one of the songs - "Close Upon The Hour" certainly does sound like if could have been written by Mr. Schwartz? Or did my teacher simply get her stories and composers mixed up? *On the manuscript copy of the music I have, it even says, "Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz" - and it actually looks like Stephen's hand too. ???
Or is used to it by now.
;D
cilla, from what you said about the front desk, i bet the vet didn't get the message.
do you know how the fist vet made the diagnosis
george, how did your appointment go.
i think vets or regular physicians most of us have dealt with at least one bad experience.

Reporters surrounded Britney Spears car.
One police officer apparently wasn’t too thrilled by the scene. He ordered a group of photographers and cameramen who were surrounding the car in the middle of the street to sit on a curb and provide identification while Spears drove away.
The photographers were issued citations by the Beverly Hills Police Department. On the ticket, it listed “stood in front of car with a camera” as the reason. The ticket is not correctable and the fine is $80.
;D good for him.
Also, DotM, it's interesting that that was the post that brought you out and finally got you to post.
And now I am going to watch THE WILD PARTY, purchased after reading some of DR EDISAURUS' posts.
DR FJL and The Pope were walking down the street. Coming toward them were Brad Pitt and Mary Lopinto.
FJL said to the Pope: Isn't that Brad Pitt?
And The Pope Said: I don't know, but I think that's Mary Lopinto with him.

As for conspiracy theories in regards to JFK's assassination...
When I was in high school, Sister Maureen Bernard (or was it Sr. Maureen Christopher - ??), was my government teacher junior year. She was a self-avowed JFK-aholic, and even more "rabid" JFK-Assassination-Theorist/Researcher. She shared a bunch of information and writings that she had come across over the years. She even had a copy one of the original "reports" that was released on the newsstands, as well, as the subsequent revised report that was released after the original ones were recalled. It was fascinating - and a bit scary - to see what was edited and/or blacked out from the original copy. She even followed the trail of the missing brain fragments, as well as the reports of someone in a wheelchair on Aristotle Onassis' boat in the middle of the Mediterranean. And the eventually sighting of a burial at sea. ???
And now I am going to watch THE WILD PARTY, purchased after reading some of DR EDISAURUS' posts.
Did you notice DR TCB, DR tomovoz announced our engagement?
There are some wonderful things in THE WILD PARTY - David Dukes' performance being one of them.
I've just spent an hour and a half listening to Oliver Stone's commentary track on JFK, which I had never listened to before, but thanks to today's topic, I felt inclined towards.
Thanks for the avatar George, but I think I'll stick with my 20 year old one!
When we had our little stray cat fixed she kept licking her stitches and so we had to make her wear the collar. She hated it!
We kept her sequestered in the kitchen away from our other cats. One night she stepped on the blender buttons and turned it on. That plus the collar was too much and it scared her half to death and woke us up. She was hanging from a picture frame in the kitchen. It took us all a while to calm down!
Too much information coupled, I suspect, with cloudy recall. Panty hose are not connected to a girdle. The whole point of wearing pantyhose is to avoid the use of a gridle or garterbelt to hold up the hose. If Mom was fastening hose to the clips on her girdle, they were just plain stockings, not panty-hose.
Too much exposition.
der Brucer
He is still hoping to be ring bearer.
Sadly, Mr. Dukes passed away while filming ROSE RED here in Pierce County. The treatment received by his widow, Carol Dukes, by the medical examiner's office in our county is a continuing embarrassment to the people who live here.
I don't think panty hose was invented yet in 1963, I certainly know that when I started wearing hoisery in 1967/68 or so (fishnet stockings were big then) I had to use a garter belt
cilla, from what you said about the front desk, i bet the vet didn't get the message.
Well I don't necessarily remember them in 1963, I'm sure I was older when I remember them....my point is, in 1963 most women were probably wearing garter belts....
