What is this banner about TIN MEN: "Journey Beyond the Yellow Brick Road", airing on the Sci Fi network Dec. 2nd? Has anybody heard anything about this?

Look no further than HERE for your "Tin Man" information.  I've been eagerly awaiting this one for several months.

Well, I guess it's time to check the mail and then get ready to start fixing some lunch and watching today's video selections.

Happy Halloween - there is a costume contest as school today, but I did not prepare a costume---the possibilities are endless.

Gorgeous kitchen!! When are you inviting us all over for dinner?

(I recognized that theme, too, and I also think it is from Saturday Night at the Movies.)

Good Morning, once again.

I'm back from the gym... And after today's workout, I can honestly say that I do not like those hip adductor and hip abductor machines.  Well, the abductor machine isnt too bad, but the adductor machine... ugh!

Well, time for me to wash my blender (post-workout smoothie, ya' know), and take a look at the White Christmas book for a bit.

No, but (and I kid you not--maybe Cillaliz can confirm) they are *all* part of class action lawsuits that we have been informed about after purchasing them.  The refrigerator has some door anomaly, the stove tips over if it doesn't have some special non-tip device installed and I can't remember what the microwave's problem is.  We want CASH, baby, CASH to settle.  :)

That means you need to continue on those machines until you OWN them.  One always dislikes the things that are best for him.

No one has commented on the exciting new formal dining space with Betsy's mom's unique art.  But maybe that's a good thing.  ;)

BK:

Will the fact that the Chance Theatre's "Brain" production will run in repertory affect your decision whether or not to direct?

der Brucer

No - because the same designers design both shows, and this theater, unlike NYMF, seems to have their stuff together AND it's their theater so they know what's what.

Questions for BK:

I don't remember if you've specified this, but is Cindy Williams only doing the intro to the event or will she also sing a song?

Also, will anyone sing "No Time At All" from Pippin?  If so, who?  If you can say.

I haven't really released who's singing what, but I guess I can tell you that yes, we're doing No Time At All and it will be sung by Bruce Vilanch.

I think that was a proposal for the MGM production of "Marie Antoinette".  The screenplay was written in a way that made both Louis and Marie seem rather harmless and fun, and the writers may have considered having Marie say, "Let them eat day-old cake" to make her seem more callous.

Good try, but no cigar.  I found the reference; it's in Edward Albee's THE AMERICAN DREAM, one of my favorite plays:

Mommy recalls that Grandma has always wrapped boxes nicely. When she was a child, left poor with the death of Grandpa, Grandma used to wrap her a lunchbox every day for school. The other children would withdraw their chicken legs and chocolate cakes from their poorly wrapped boxes, and Mommy would not have the heart to rip into hers.

Daddy guesses that it was because her box was empty. Mommy protests, saying that Grandma always filled it the night before with her own un-eaten dinner. After school, Mommy would bring back her lunch for Grandma to eat. "I love day-old cake" she used to say. Mommy ate all the other children's food at school because they thought her box was empty. They thought she suffered from the sin of pride. Since that made them superior to her, they were quite generous.
