Why, if one were mischievous, one could cause mayhem in an unlocked post! ::)
All alone, I'm so all alone . . . .
I'm here, just have nothing to say.
Nothing like a few gratuitous posts from Missy K to start off your Sunday morning, heh? (DR Ronnie's dream come true..heh-heh-heh)
Archive of American Television has many interesting interviews.
Here is a 2003 interview of Jack Larsen.

Good morning DR td - Mr Borders USA!!
I'm jealous! I want to go to Genghis Cohen with bk and get to see that precious Mikey!
OK. Here's the rundown of the plans for netowrk shows if the strike is settled today:

Add to that THE CLOSER, which should start airing new episodes in mid-July!
Sorry your interview didn't work out in L.A., but could you drive to San Diego to do the interview there if that was the original point of your travels?
And the word of the day is: TRUCKLE!
Safe travel vibes to our MBarnum. I hope you have many surprise encounters with famous film stars!

DR FJL - Are you seeing/have you seen Applause this weekend?
Sunday morning greetings! Richard is officiating at church today and then we're taking Rob and Mary Linda out to lunch to celebrate her birthday (which is actually tomorrow).
Wonder if DR Singdaw produced the Seuss from memory last night? I tried to post a photo of my traditional green eggs and ham Easter dinner, but the upload folder is full.
I thin it is obvious from last night's posts, that DR Coleslaw has serious drug issues!
a new haineshisway.com award for most consecutive posts!
All this talk of food and cooking yesterday! Does any DR have any experience with pasteurized and homogenized eggs? I was wondering if they could be used for those older recipes which call for uncooked eggs. Many years ago my mom used to make a killer pineapple desert which used uncooked eggs.

One of my all time favorite actors, John Saxon!!!!!

MBarnum, JWP used to be on Days at one time back in the early 1980s and then on another soap where he got an emmy nod.
John Saxon is a good actor....
Question: Is Frank Stallone a brother or relation to Sylvester Stallone?
Thanks for the updates, DR Matt H.!

I was wondering if they could be used for those older recipes which call for uncooked eggs. Many years ago my mom used to make a killer pineapple desert which used uncooked eggs.Going to Michael Ruhlman's Elements of Cooking, (http://blog.ruhlman.com/) again:
Pasteurize, pasteurization: The process of heating a liquid - such as milk or fruit juices - to specific minimum temperatures for specific durations in order to kill pathogens. The process not only ensures that liquid doesn't make anyone sick, it also serves as a preservative by killing those microbes responsible for a food's deterioration. The reason cooked meat will keep longer than raw is because it's been, in a manner of speaking, pasteurized.
Homogenize: to mechanically combine two opposing liquids so that they are uniformly dispersed; milk is homogenized to prevent the fat from combining with itself and rising to the top.
I finished the last two episodes of FAMILY TIES. Most of the episodes during the season revolved about Michael J. Fox's Alex, but the two part season finale episodes were Michael Gross' showcase, and he gave a very touching performance.Michael Gross doing the laying on of hands. Touching indeed!

Thanks for the info, Matt.
George, that is so funny.
MBARNUM is going to Li'l Abner with The Queen of Outer Space.....
Singdaw wins a new haineshisway.com award for most consecutive posts!
It is quite warm here.
When Richard and I returned from church and lunch in Cincinnati, our neighbors called across the street to tell us that their power was out and to let them know if ours was, too. It was and had been for about an hour by then. It was getting c-c-c-cold in our house. A little over half an hour later, the power came back on. Weird.
Start off? We're on page two!
::)
Don't role your little icon eyes at me...I was going by AZ time not HHW page time ....
Sorry PORTRAIT IN BLACK wasn't up to par, but it's always been my least favorite Ross Hunter-produced melodrama from this period. I much prefer MIDNIGHT LACE and BACK STREET.
Anybody besides me watching the great PRIDE AND PREJUDICE adaptation with Colin Firth tonight?
Anybody besides me watching the great PRIDE AND PREJUDICE adaptation with Colin Firth tonight?
I went to church this morning where the topic of conversation with DRs Laura and Sandra was DR TCB, fabric for a toga for DR Sandra, a large gold tassle which wouldn't get in the way of her cocoanut bra, the Swedish Chef's hat (which will be part of the outfit) and my butt. A highly religious experience, indeed!
If you buy an HDTV with an internal digital (ATSC/QAM) tuner (which most new HDTVs have now; only older models may be lacking that VERY essential feature
I have to run out and buy some hanging fixtures and some velcro tape.
You were prayed for, DR TCB.
Thank you Dear Reader Laura. I appreciate the prayers.
DR Kerry, I will be glad to drop some ice down your pants tomorrow.
I got the VIZIO 32 inch HDTV today. Woo Hoo! I love it. I have my cable box hooked up through the components (it wouldn't work with my HDMI cable) I get a number of HD channels on the cable - including our local stations, I love them. I have my DVD (not HDDVD) hooked up through the AV and am going to get the antenna I used to get the local stations when I had Direct TV and hook it up to see if I can get more local stations.
I'm really glad I got it.
DR Kerry, I will be glad to drop some ice down your pants tomorrow.

DRJOSE....who took the picture?
The WGA strike is over...
STRIKING WRITERS MAY BE BACK TO WORK WEDNESDAY AFTER GUILD RECOMMENDS CONTRACT
I'll keep you company ... even if ever so briefly...
Neat picture Jose!
I have never seen a pink limosine!
I hope the prize is a week in Bellevue.
Ass-Effects.....hmmmmm
Very funny. Phrases that drive me crazy when spoken incorrectly in musicals include:
Beau-DEEE and the Beast.
The Soun Dove Music
and my favorite: Wooden tit be loverly?
Good Afternoon!
Done for the day. And it seemed to be the afternoon of "changing cue lines"... Oh, you want me to start playing now? (but you wrote something else on your music) ;)
Tina and Beyonce doing PROUD MARY....wonder if Beyonce even realizes she just got served in front of 35 million people?
And my favorite from Sunday in the Park with George:
Mademoiselles
Me and my friend
We are butt soldiers...
I wondered about that too. -Although, sort of sadly, I think that was due to the ever-lowering vocal range - and keys - of Ms. Turner.

That ain't all that got lower. 8)
Some thangs go without sayin', my sistah. ;)
I like Jason Bateman, but he is pretty irritating in his segments.
DRSandra's cocanut bra does not have tassles..... yet!
I blame the WGA strike.

Of course you could go with the lighted tassles and teach her how to twirl them.

Hmm... Some interesting choices in the Classical Grammy awards. Well, at least interesting to me.
Bellevue, WA?
I expected to get that comment from one of the Northwet contingent, but not from the cosmopolitan Jose!

Well... I did live in Port Angeles and Seattle when I was but a child. And my aunt still lives in Seattle too.
And I thought you were fishin' for a visitor. ;)
...oh, and I even took the freeway from Burbank to Glendale...it wasn't bad at all...even if everyone drove much faster then I.
Now I will hie myself to Melrose and Fairfax where I, Bk and others will have a nice dining experience....and let it be
Well, I am always fishin' for a visitor, but the handsome David is already taken.
Someone please promise me that Kanye West will go away soon? Please!!
Oh my....Aretha baby, bad color for you.....DR CILLA LIZ this will be a nice test of your new HDTV!!!
Hope they didn't talk about Doris in the first six minutes of the show that I didn't watch.
I'm watching extreme makeover
Which David?
.. the Vixter absolutely LOVED Rent....
They didn't, DR JRand. I know this because that's about all of the show Richard and I could stand to watch.
Instead, we watched a DVD of Sinatra duets - clips from 1950s and '60s TV, with Ol' Blue Eyes singing with the likes of Dinah Shore, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Shirley Jones, Lena Horne, Elvis, and so on. The group of kids surrounding him during "High Hopes" looked like my 3rd grade class.
Richard commented on the contrast between the productions. We also noticed how much cigarette smoking went on during musical numbers and how much non-PC humor there was.
Great wardrobe tips - and some sparkling conversational "idioms" to add to her language skills :)

I'm happy you're happy she's happy - I mean, that's what shows about disease dispair and death are for.
Roy Scheider has joined the choir invisible.
?
Out west, they are up to Beyonce and Tina.
I doubt The Vixter heard any language in Rent that she hasn't heard on the school bus.
DR Vixmom - did you and she get to any of the sci-fi convention this weekend?

Thanks, Jrand, I assumed that is what you meant, but I couldn't find anything about it on CNN.
The Sci- Fi Convention is the first weekend of April, which coincides with her school chorus's field trip to Rent whichis how we came to see it yesterday... I had been happy to let her go to see it without me....
Oh, sorry, I got confused - something that happens to me more and more, it seems.
DR JOSE....you need one of them fancy white coats with the black trim and the mandarin collar!!
WOW! Lang-Lang has also gotten TALL too!
*He's really quite the prodigy, wunderkind, Classical music publicity machine. However, his work in bringing music - and pianos(!) - to the more rural parts of China. There is even a piano company that has designed and named a piano model after him.
Keely Smith!!!
What the f**k is it with the wind chill factor? If it feels like minus five degrees, shouldn't we just call it minus five degrees?
So, here I am, catching up on yesterday's posts and reliving the joy that is Dr. Seuss (thanks, Singdaw!) and I'm half-listening what's on TV. I'm not really watching anything, just changing channels when I take the time to watch what's on and realize that I don't want to watch what's on. ;) Anyway, a commercial comes on about some new acid reflux/heartburn medicine and I don't believe what I'm hearing! I turn to see the name of the product on the screen. It's spelled exactly like this: AcipHex® But what I'd heard was a fake doctor telling the fake narrator of the fake story: "Fred, you have acid reflux disease. I want you to try prescription Ass-Effects!" :o And later, the voice-over says, "Ask your doctor if Ass-Effects is right for you." And finally, "So call today and learn more about Ass-Effects."
;D
Anybody besides me watching the great PRIDE AND PREJUDICE adaptation with Colin Firth tonight?
(No room for dessert.)
...I'm still giggling from the whole experience. :)
Thanks for the wind chill info, Cilla.
Well, I'm gonna get a head start on my baggage re-packing, and then get ready for bed. By this time tomorrow, I should already be back home in NYC. Whew! And...
Goodnight.
A bit of premature ejaculation I think.
Wednesday is the soonest - the writers must vote to end the strike!

Expected to return this fall or January '09.

No, that would be incorrect. They've accepted the deal - the ratification is a formality, just as it was with the stagehands and the DGA. The strike is over. The End.

;D Happy to answer the question. Bottom line. If it's cold and windy....wear a coat, a hat, a scarf and gloves
Do you honestly suggest that if the membership, on Tuesday, votes against ending the strike, that the strike is still over? I think not!
Do you also suggest that if the membership fails to ratify the contract, which their leadership simply "recommended", that the strike is over. I think not!
The strike is probably over, the membership will most likely ratify - but it is nota done deal - unless you know something the AP does not.

The first thing on my list for Monday....buy some maps of LA for those times when I know where I think I am going but the phone rings while you are driving and you answer it and talk and totally miss your other turn and end up in West Hollywood instead of Glendale.Oops! Well, let me know if you accidentally end up in the South Bay. :)
DR LAURA stay for Keely Smith and the Rhapsody in Blue number......very nice!!!
Did you have the green beans?Oh my, yes. Several of them. ;D
I'm not wrong, however, and everyone in the WGA knows it will be ratified on Wednesday. The End.
And until they do, the writers are on strike - THE STRIKE IS NOT OVER!
