My new issue of Scarlet Street arrived today.

Interesting articles, interviews, and reviews.

I am most distressed that the late Virginia Mayo takes out after Miss Doris Day.....bad form....  Well curvy form, actually....but not a nice side to the otherwise luscious Miss Mayo.

How did you know? I stayed out of everyone's way and sat reading books and playing in the back playroom most of my formative years.

And I tried to keep the squabbling with my older brother to a minimum since he would think nothing of hurting either me or my records, books etc. My LI'L ABNER soundtrack still has a gigantic scratch across its side 2 face done by him for some nefarious reason.

I'll never get over Ms. Mayo's eyebrows...especially in "The Silver Chalice."

It's time for me, too, to tend to other matters for a while.

DR Joy: We had to sit through a run-through of the show. I understand. And I've worked in the Broadway Jr. department. I understand. Believe me, I do.

Did you do the reading/workshop that also featured a guy named Tommy?

I don't remember Tommy.  I did a very early reading.  I would be happy to chat privately, but my experience should not be shared on a public forum.  I have a rep, you know.  ;)

Must sign off now for my 4 solid hours of information waitressing.  I'll try to log in during my 8pm hour in the telephone center.

I wonder if they are doubling up TAR episodes just to get through this run that much quicker since they realize that ratings are off.  I don't recall other races having a two hour episode other than the finales.

I was going to say to DR Jrand that he will eventually have to put up with more of the Gaghans when TAR does it's clip show, but they usually broadcasted that at the midpoint of the race.  After tonight there may be only three to four teams left, so I doubt that there will be a clip show at this point.

Unless the clip show is one of tonight's shows?

I think I read that they are doubling up tonight because next week is the Country Music Awards.

It seems to me that TAR has done 2 hour episodes before.

And now that the Gaghans are gone, I am afraid I might lose interst. But I will tape it tonight and watch it later in the week.

I want to be a Gaghan!

OMG, DR MBarnum you crack me up!  I still can't believe that was your favorite team.  But I'll bet we'll continue to get to know the remaining teams so you'll probably find somebody new to cheer for.

Oh and i LOVE the MEDIUM children. I think they are sweet!

(i'm being serious).

And yes the dreams on the show are very interesting.  That first one was crazy and disturbing (with the overweight woman).

I also heard about them switching CLOSE TO HOME to Fridays.  I guess that isn't too good for that show.

I sort of like it. Not my favorite.  But I find Jennifer Finnegan quite appealing in this role.  She was much more manic in her sitcom last season.

And re: that DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES link.

Did they give too much information?

(don't read below if you don't want to know what it said).

Did we know he was a fugitive from the law?

I know that we saw them watching a case on tv.  But why would a fugitive have to be locked in the basement?

I received two fascinating books in the post today:  HOW SONDHEIM FOUND HIS SOUND and Matthew Modine's diaries from FULL METAL JACKET.  I want to relax and read but I have to work on Mario's concert!

Ginny, what's information waitressing?

DR Joy, I'm a reference librarian at a downtown public library and one of my co-workers wrote a poem about what we do titled, "The Information Waitress."  So, when I have to work at our public desks or in the telephone reference center (which I actually like a lot), I call it "information waitressing."

Jennifer Finnegin won three Emmys on daytime TV, but she has had bad luck with all of her prime time efforts. She never fit in on CROSSING JORDAN either before NBC gave her that sitcom last season (which I did sort of like). And now her CBS drama is floundering.

I do think it might have a better chance on Fridays.

Well, I have the living room to clean, so I must get off here and get it done.

WBBL with opinions on tonight's BONES, HOUSE, and SVU. The other shows I want to watch will be recorded.
