As an actor myself, I was more curious how the production would handle the need for actors to be comfortable being nude on stage. When I started acting onstage over 50 years ago, I remember that directors would always put off blocking the kissing scenes until just before the show was ready to open; presumably to allow actors a chance to get to know each other before having to become intimate with each other. The result was usually that the kissing scenes were usually the least convincing aspect of the production.
When I started directing plays, I moved the first kiss rehearsal up to the callbacks, if it was part of the show. After having a pair of actors (
male and female) read a scene, I would then ask them to kiss each other. You can tell a lot about an actor's comfort level on stage by the way they react to being given that directiom If they balk at doing it at a callback, chances are they may balk in front of an audience.
