And the word of the day is: EPICEDE!
I watched QVO VADIS on Blu-ray the day I got it, and I can't for the life of me remember my impressions of the transfer. I'd have to go put it back in the player and rewatch.
Unfortunately they only had us proof the "marquee" page of the program, and they had my name there. The Executive Producer, who is a very sweet lady, was quite upset by it all last night and, yes, it sounds like they'll be doing a placard and insert. They do have a nice pre-announce mentioning me and I get a spotlight for a nanosecond. Ah, stardom. ;)
DR JMK - left out YOUR bio? After all THIS pre production? Wow!

Jose, you asked last night about that Titanic memorial. I have no clue what it might be, but I am fascinated. I thought I knew all the New York Titanic memorials.

DR JOSE - it looks like the plaque on that house says Titanic International, which is this group:
http://www.titanicinternationalsociety.org/index.html
Maybe an officer or member lives there.

But I'm not feeling pretty. I'm feeling like a bit of a chump and I'm deciding what to do about it.
The Titanic exhibition in New York is something put together by Discovery Channel

Why, Bk, what happened?
(sparkly things just seem to say buy me please)
I don't have anything to say today, except that I have the cutest kittens in town.

Well, I watched the first two hours last night and can honestly say that the transfer is near to impeccable - I noticed a few register errors along the way - but is is mostly an immaculate presentation.
It's just AWFUL outside today.
What's everyone reading?
I'm still on the Oxford Book of Victorian Ghost Stories, but I just bought Edith Wharton's ghost stories for the next read.
I think elmore is on to something lovely. Invite some of your friends - that's how we have some of our wonderful dear readers, so why not.
I'm ready for dinner now.
I think elmore is on to something lovely.
Maybe the Kritzerland site should invite people to check out the site?
Though Disney officials say there have probably been thousands of real wedding proposals at Disneyland, this one was acted out by members of Disneyland’s musical and parade performing cast.

Thank you for the truth regarding the video. I would like to have known when I was watching it. Was the one you posted for real?
If the idea was to entice people to visit the parks they might have offered wedding proposal options along with the video.

I've been rereading THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF AGATHA CHRISTIE over this past week.

Oh, it was produced by the same people so I believe it was made up too!

I suppose that is a very good idea, but I must confess that I am very selfish about my HHW family. I am not sure that I want to share my cyber family with any of my friends.
I just checked my mail and I found a "Sorry We Missed You" notice in my mail box, even though I am sitting right here. What is even more galling is that it is marked as Final Notice, even though it is the first notice I have received in weeks.

I hate when that happens. If you complain they should return with the package & accept a written note to leave it.

Oh, I will just go to the Post Office on Monday. We have a very sweet hearing impaired letter carrier, and I don't want to do anything to get her in trouble. I believe she may already be on probation.

we are expecting a thunderstorm
Mr. No-Tweet.
This relates to Show Girl and Miss Channing!
I'm kind of laughing DR TCB as being hearing impaired really isn't an explanation for not getting your attention unless you are also hearing impaired. Having a dog comes in handy when you don't hear the doorbell.
The reason I mentioned that is because I think she has trouble communicating and understanding with me due to my moustache.

Or maybe it's because you too closely resemble some of the guys on the "10 Most Wanted" posters they have up over at the Post Office.

No one has anything to fear from me, exceptpossiblyprobably the UPS driver who is a hunk!

I was suppose to go to a pool party tonight but aside from the fact that it's actually too cool to swim plus we are expecting a thunderstorm, I think I might have gotten a little dehydrated working in my front yard today. I'm just gonna stay in and watch THE MOUSE THAT ROARED on TCM (a movie on which I believe North Korea is basing it's current foreign policy.)

I have no hearing impairment, but I rarely know what the hell you're saying, Dad!

Oh how I wish I'd studied French instead of Spanish! :)
We have a pair of young jackrabbits playing outside our kitchen window. :) No photos as they are too fast.
Jane, switch the camera button over to video and upload a clip to youtube.
DR Cilla good luck you do get the new mattress.

THE MOUSE THAT ROARED was the first play I was in, playing Professor Kokintz my freshman year of high school.

Hmmmmmmm can't find Krizterland on Twitter.
That's nice, Cillaliz.
The kitties are very photogenic.
G'night!
I've been reading some old Cinema magazines - very interesting reading, especially the 1969 issue which has a large supplement about how this new- fangled home entertainment world is going to change the way we live. And articles about all the coming any day now video tape machines (about five different companies with five different and completely incompatible machines and technologies - sound familiar). Really interesting.
I had a very, very, very (that is 3 verys) day today. Tomorrow I will also have a very, very, very busy day...starting at 5 am.

Wonderful pics!
Now I'm into last week's BURN NOTICE with John Rubenstein's son, Michael Weston, as the client. I've liked Michael's work since he played Olivia Benson's brother on LAW & ORDER: SVU. I know I've seen him before in things, but it was playing her half-brother in a story line that had him framed as a rapist where I first thought he was really striking.
And speaking of Twitter...
This Tweet most definitely caught my eye today:
@BreakingNews - A 15-year-old girl fell into an uncovered sewer manhole in New York while texting. She is currently recovering from her injuries.
Are there any good movies at the theater right now? I have a free popcorn and a free pop for my b'day and I'm trying to decide if there's anything worth seeing to use it
The rain they had been forecasting all day has finally started up. Good timing. :)thanks DR Jose. I was curious about the rest of the story

Next think you know there'll be a law against walking while texting
DR Jose, have you seen any good movies at the theater lately

Law or no law, common sense should prevail, but then, common sense does not seem to be universal!!

Yes, he's seen "Voyage To The Center Of A Sh*tty Manhole!" ... ;D
And now I'm REALLY going!
;D
DR Cillaliz - You're welcome.
*There was a follow-up joke on Twitter to that story:
Bloomberg to impose "falling into sewer tax"
;)

Is there a story about being kicked out of Steinway Hall?
Then I headed on down to Shubert Alley for Broadway Barks (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/130991-Broadway_Barks_for_a_Good_Cause_July_11_in_Shubert_Alley). Bernadette Peters, Mary Tyler Moore, Angela Lansbury, Rupert Everett, Greg Jbara, Michael Cerveris, Gavin Creel, Will Swenson, Audra McDonald, etc., etc., etc. A lots and lots of cute dogs and cats.
I prefer to keep my online life and my personal life separate.
I am trying to come up with a children's story for tomorrow. It has been a very busy week.
I am now back from an ever so delightful Chinese dinner with Bruce Pomahac at Hunan Park on 95th and Columbus, which was his choice. I think the Silk Road Palace is equally as good, but Hunan Park did have some interesting choices on their menu that the Silk Road Palace does not.
I think I shall read my mail, watch COPS, and then watch something on DVD. I'm not sure yet what that will be.
Full Monty at Paper Mill was quite excellent, plus there was a talkback in which Stritch joined the cast in answering questions.

Ooh, Hunan Park. Haven't been there in years. -And I keep meaning to make a return visit to the classic - and somewhat over-priced - Shun Lee.
Just for ole times sake.
It is 5:31, I must leave in 45 minutes, and I have not even showered yet today. (TMI?). I did however get caught up on literally weeks of paperwork (hence my lack of personal hygiene)--I had stacks of paper going back to late May/early June, expense-income statements to finish, and the like, and those are ALL DONE. Plus I reviewed the lamentable ECHELON CONSPIRACY and also got through one HELEN WEST mystery and started DIARY OF A NOBODY.
Now I will shower. :)
the manager called about 8:00 and asked if I was still here. He said they had a lot of people coming in so he couldn't leave early. He took one look and said "stop in tomorrow and pick out a new mattress, as long as it's the same price range, it's free". cool. He also told me that the pillow top beds sag in the middle more than a little firmer mattress.
I am very happy about this. It hadn't occurred to me to check and see if it was under warranty. I'm glad I got it at the store I use a lot. It's the same store Jen from Design Star used when she remodeled her sister's living room in Sioux city
