We aren't "serious Renners" so we don;t have personas. They sell the stuff at the Con and I had been looking at it for years but it is always so expensive that I never jumped since to spend several hundred dollars for something that'll get used once or twice a year just was never in the budget. Last year about an hour before closing on Saturday a dealer who was leaving early and not staying for the Sunday show decided to sell stuff off cheap, I got the full length chemise, skirt and stomacher (por whatever you call it) for about $100, often the corset thing alone costs that. The Vixter is actually wearing a silk/polyester skirt I got at the GoodWill last week for $5 and a peasant blouse I got at another GoodWill last year for $5!
NO. I have never been to a "real" Ren Faire though! Actually they are having a one day one on April 30 at a nother college campus not far from here and the Bards are being brought up for it , so we may attend that one
No, I think it was deliberate, and for no reason, really, as it's nothing that would have bothered me in the least - no biggie and, as I said, really silly, but I get very weirded out when people who are close to me do that.
I do not do it as much as I used but I still have my costumes. It was fun especially when they have coronations and feasts. The tunics are really easy to make. One costume I just sold that no longer fits me was one that had a lot of embroidery and I sold that for over 125. It had a LOT of hours put into it.
Among the very many areas for which I have no talent is the art of sewing. I can do counted cross stitch but actually cutting and sewing of materials? Clueless that's me.
I'm glad that no one was hurt at the old house, DR Cillaliz. I guess that means no lawsuit!
Nine out of every ten men who have pornographic dreams, claim that they don't rememeber their dreams.
Today was a day of nothing but TV watching...three episodes of the new "Dr. Who,"
Dakota - Do you go to the Minnesota Rennaisiance Festival? I've been there a number of times as well as the one in Arizona, Kansas and now Sioux City has one. I was impressed for a first year. They had jousters and the whole 9 yards. I've considered volunteering this year, but it depends when it is
Yes, the one in Shakopee is huge...Are you in SCA?
Jose, do you get to visit the downstairs pit during intermission? I'm pretty sure Skip and I are seeing LESTAT Wednesday night.
SNiff, sniff.... I wish i could see them...

During one of the episodes, they announced that the DVDs are available for pre-order on Amazon.com and will be released on July 4!Here's the picture:
Dakota - There's a play that just opened in NYC called SHILOH RULES, which has gotten swell reviews (especially in the NY Times) and which our Dear Neighbor Kate Weiman is in. It's about a group of women who re-enact the Civil War.
