DR John G.'s work day must be over, or nearly so.

I wonder if he's out raising a glass!

I wish. But work is progressing for another 35 minutes or so.

Dan, I worked at a Barnes and Noble for a few months. We seem to have met the same customers.

Back from a roast beef sandwich - curiously you'd think a deli would actually have some Jewish type rolls, but nooooo - only french bread and other kinds of breads, and bagels - no Kaiser, no onion rolls - what is happening in the world of delis?

Yes, they were certainly out of place at a bookstore. Not book readers by nature.

I have a Barnes and Noble pin for 5 years of work, I think. Or was it ten?

Only I got all the difficult celebrity customers: Tovah Feldshuh, one of the RENT producers, and others.

I loved Ann Meara, William Daniels, David Eigenberg, Cynthia Nixon, Helen Stenborg, and others.

I have a date on Saturday.  My dear friend Rob Berman is taking me to see American Ballet Theatre's new production of SLEEPING BEAUTY.  I am really looking forward to it.

I have watched a couple of my brothers using a chain saw.

I also have an Uncle George that I never met.  He and his twin brother Jim were working at a saw mill in Waverly, Indiana, in the 1930's, they were not out of their teens yet.   When out with the cutting crew, George happened to notice that a huge tree was falling toward Jim....he ran and pushed Jim out of the way.  The tree fell on him and killed him.

That's terrible! :(

Yes, but greater love hath no man.  My brother Macbeth would push me under a bus.

I no longer crave peanut butter cookies.  Vanilla ice cream and really good apple pie.

One week from today, if all goes well, I will be in post-surgical recuperative mode. Hopefully on my way back to my covered hovel, in my opinion dressed up with lots of books and discs.

DR Dan M - substitute "public library" for "Barnes & Noble" and you'd be describing my worklife...

We didn't even have to look up whether or not there was a full moon.  We just KNEW.

Ditto and ditto!

That sounds good. Brings to mind that I've never had apple pie with cheddar on top. That was something I always heard about.

Then I came home to this lovely surprise:

http://www.edgemedianetwork.com/entertainment/theatre/features//177590

Very nice! The reviewer has an appropriate name for music reviewing, Spindle. Makes me think of the days when we would stack the records on a spindle and let the phonograph play the records automatically. I'm sure it wasn't all that great for the LPs.

I remember working with people who had those. I wasn't there long enough to have made any significant anniversary. I'll admit to being a book-a-holic.

Elmore - We seem to be cut from similar sibling cloths.  (only in my case, it's my sister-in-law's influence from all i can tell)

I think Macbeth was always rotten, but marrying Lady M, who's as crooked as he, was an enabling situation that makes them both worthy of termination ASAP.  Rotten amoral personalities both.  They treated my dad like garbage before he died and then screwed my brother Randy and me over after his death.

I had a haircut today. My hairdresser, Richard, who's even older than I am, whispered to me that one of the young hairdressers working for him didn't know who Frank Sinatra or Marlon Brando were. Really? How old is she? "Twenty-five." Sheesh! How could anyone grow up in the US and not know those names?

Wednesday morning greetings!  Have to do a little gearing up for AAUW's garage sale (Friday and Saturday), then go to a new manicurist.  This will be only the 4th manicure I've had in my life and the first one with someone who speaks English.  I met Wendy at the Women's Wine and Chocolate Walk last month and her new salon is just down Central Avenue.

I treated myself to a manicure when I graduated from college and have never had another. I was down in Mexico and it was quite cheap! I do like nice nails, but I do them myself. I hope you like Wendy and your manicure, DR Ginny. It's a nice treat.

I'm back from my young cousin's graduation in Scranton, PA, where she was the co-valedictorian.  She gave an absolutely beautiful speech, the ceremony was really lovely, and the post-graduation dinner was very good.

Congrats to your niece! This was college graduation?
