TOD:

I think Sunday in the Park with George was the first time I saw images projected onto thte stage. It worked there, because when the images were off, the white stage resembled "a blank page or canvas, so many possibilities," as the show says. I have found some limited-budget productions to use them effectively, and I've seen a few large-budget attempts that looked cheap. I think it depends on the designer.

I'm thinking Evita was my first, when it opened at the Shubert in Century City.

Of course projections are common now for plays and musicals, certainly on the amateur level where I often think they're something of a crutch...so my gut reaction is to brace myself for some cringing.

I wish I had been able to see the original Broadway production of Jane Eyre. The musical one from 2000. From what I understand, a lot of that set consisted of 3-D virtual projections.

And The Woman in White (Andrew Lloyd-Webber) also relied on projections quite heavily.

Things are a bit slow for me as well......perhaps it's just September.

DR JOHN G it's been so long since I've seen SUNDAY ITPWG that I didn't even recognized that quote.....I am sadly remiss.

DR Ginny - glad that the test results were good for DH Richard, and that the kids had a lovely anniversary celebration.

Thank you, DR Singdaw!

Something like that, DR Elmore...

DR TCB, I know what you mean about Rob and Mary Linda's anniversary.  Doesn't seem like 4 whole years ago to me, either.

Then it must have been a different movie with stars, whom I thought were from Divergent.  This one is with Shailene Woodley & Miles Teller.

And the word of the day is: MALVERSATION!

Talking to my friend Mal constitutes a MALVERSATION. What? There's ANOTHER meaning? No!

I've been fighting something all week myself. Whatever this thing is it's nasty. No need for TMI--you all know what it's like to feel sick.

I didn't have any problem logging on today or in posting. My problem is the words are blurry. Oh, wait. That's a different issue. TCB will understand.
