The giraffe picture from yesterday reminded me of this.

When I came in last night and turned on the teevee  Doctor Dolittle was on

I've ordered the Doctor Dolittle Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Expanded Soundtrack. :)

It hasn't arrived yet. :(

Along with it, I ordered David Shire's unused score to Apocalypse Now, and the limited edition 40th anniversary remastered soundtrack to Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  This last one is not yet released (at least, according to Screen Archive's website), so my whole order won't ship until they're all available.  I knew their pre-order policy when I ordered these, so that doesn't bother me. ;)

So, George, do you get British channels?

https://www.thestage.co.uk/news/2017/elf/

Not that one.  Only BBC America...that I know of.

I run hot and cold on Bernadette, but I really like her in Pennies from Heaven, whose musical numbers are really wonderful.  In fact, for anyone who watched A Christmas Story Live (I didn't, but I did see two of the numbers - awful songs and terrible choreography), the tap number Jane Krakowski did with the kids is a complete rip-off of this amazing number from Pennies with Bernadette and genius choreography by Danny Daniels.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQlfAm-kLNg&feature=share

Umm...that link is to SHIRLEY TEMPLE BABES IN TOYLAND.  Do you mean Love Is Good For Anything That Ails You?

Little Thatch has discovered that being held can be a beautiful thing.  I am very happy to hold him and watch him snuggle.

Emptied four boxes o' stuff.  Does anyone here have Reel Imagination, the Michelle Nicastro CD - I can't find that box and I need to get an mp3 of In My Own Little Corner/Impossible ASAP.

Listening to a classical album that is a very strong potential Kritzerland release - depending on a test I do with my mastering guy, we could announce this one this year.

I am home from a root canal, part 2. The dentist wasn't able to clean out all the canals today, so I'll have to return for part 3 in a few weeks. Joy.

He seems pleased with the progress. I'm pleased that he's pleased. He tries to give me little updates while he's working on me, but it's all dentalology. I haven't a clue what it means.

During the two hours I was there DHL texted me FOUR times about a package they're trying to deliver to me. Do they really think that people can drop what they're doing just because they received a text? I went to their website last night, hoping I could tell them to come another time, but their site has no provision for that. You can, however, ask them to deliver your parcel to a neighbor. I can hardly ask a neighbor to stay home all day on my account. I'd like to tell them a few things about software design.

I am still numb, so no food. The air continues to be VERY dry here, hence the fires. I'm trying to stay hydrated and am sipping through a straw.

TOD:

Anne Hathaway. For me she is like fingernails on a blackboard. Can't stand her. I thought it was just me at first, then I learned that there's a large number of "Hathahaters." One woman, apparently a fan, accused us of all just being jealous because AH is "so beautiful and talented." Ha! There are many lovely actresses whose work I admire.

I'd like to see a remake of DOCTOR DOOLITTLE. I love the score, but the movie is just too long.

I filed a claim with the USPS about the mail that was tampered with. I have little hope of any improvement, but since the mail was in a locked mailbox, it does suggest there's a problem locally. A few years ago I reported a similar problem to the police, but they said there was nothing they could do. (I think they could have in that case, but probably not in this one.)

There already was a remake of Doctor Dolittle...and a sequel.  They just weren't musicals. ::)

My coworker was back today as if nothing had happened. She only came in because we had a meeting scheduled and the people we had it planned with later canceled at the last minute. She’s going to take tomorrow off. I think that will be good.

Am watching the last two episodes of Dickensian. Some of it is sad because of the books that will follow the story later.
