As promised:  Bless You, Mr. Rosewater.  Alan and Howard brought several of the songs into the Lehman Engel Workshop when I was a member.  (I'm sure Skip remembers more details.)  I recall "Mushogi's Waltz", "Since You Came to This Town", and "Cheese Nips".  I had a discussion with Howard about the latter, the first of his notorious food songs.

I had no idea that I was in the presence of greatness, that this man would jump-start the Disney Corporation before and Broadway after his tragic death at a young age.  Ah what might have been!

From listening to the demos that have been released, I think Howard could have had a career as a performer as well.

During rehearsals they complained that Vonnegut kept trying to micromanage the show.  (My chagrin that I was atotal pest to the  director of a college show that I wrote.)

Saturday afternoon greetings!  Watching figure skating on NBC and puttering in my Momcave.  We're not snowed in this weekend, for a change.

I've been so down about my finances that I forgot to mention the one piece of good news yesterday.  We will record at the end of March the Encores! production of The New Yorkers.  All I need to do is stay afloat until I receive my payment for the recording.

YAY!!! - on so many levels!

First, welcome home to DR Jane and Keith, and condolences on the sad news that greeted you...

DR Jrand68, I meant to comment yesterday re your par-tay. I couldn't remember if you'd done that in previous years, but I wanted to say that a friend in a neighboring town used to throw a party similar to that every January about this time. He called it "Winter A-Go-Go", after the 1965 film which, if anyone hasn't seen it, you simply must. :D  In fact, an original one-sheet hangs in our kitchen.

At any rate, I'm sure I speak for the class when I say we look forward to photographic evidence.

And now, I must get my butt (and the rest of me, too) in bed.  I'm going to the exhibition hall (meaning no-cost) portion of the ALA Midwinter Conference in Seattle with some co-workers, and the van leaves at 8:00 a.m.  After I get back, my friend Margo and I are going to the movies, so I'll be gone the whole day.  But I'll be back later.

Have a good day, all!

I'm jealous, DR George, and hope you and your colleagues have a great time in the exhibit hall.  It's not, however, no-cost.  An exhibit pass for Midwinter is $60 and for Annual, $75, and Richard gladly pays those fees when he goes to conference with me.

It's been years since all of that was going on, but we all really got into the spirit of it and I found a perfect copy of the one-sheet on eBay for something like fifteen bucks. (Those were the days.)

Oh my DR CHAS SMITH how could NOT know Winter A Go Go with the Nooney Ricket 4...that girl could sing - too bad she didn't have a song that was worth anything....but she tried!  And Tom Nardini, James Stacy, AND William Wellman, Jr......      :D

I would guess that DR DRUXY knows someone who was in the cast.  It's a lot like Ski Party without the cross dressing....

Vibes for DR ELMORE.....did you ever think of asking your ONE brother about paying your share of the taxes and deducting it from the eventual selling price of The Property.....

I am also watching the skating DR GINNY.  All of the guys did well....not too many falls today.....the long program tomorrow should be very good!

Tonight is the NHL All Star Game.....which I will miss, but I am sure it will be rerun on NHL Network or someplace....

The NHL Skills Competition last night was most entertaining.....it is very strange but nice to see the players skating around without their helmets....you can see their hair and faces.  And they were having a LOT of fun on and off the ice with the fans and each other.

Back from a light breakfast, picking up two copies of the new book, and picking up no packages.  I've proofed the first fifty pages.

I must apologize for the errors in my God Bless You, Mister Rosewater post.  It's Mushari, not Mashuganah or whatever I said.

Vixmom:  Love to Vixdad and Vix, who made our tiny wedding an affair to remember, if I may coin a phrase.

Fun score. I enjoy the recent recording.

Saturday afternoon greetings!  Watching figure skating on NBC and puttering in my Momcave.  We're not snowed in this weekend, for a change.

I watched a little of it while at the gym.  It was interesting without music, and still enjoyable to watch.

I didn't know you have to pay for the exhibit hall since Keith walked me in the one time I went.

DR Ginny why didn't you go this year?
