We had an exec from the Sci-Fi channel at Friday's show - he seemed to really like the show, so I'll be calling him next week when I'm back in LA.

CRYPTIC JOKE:
A skeleton walks into a bar with a parrot on its shoulder.
The bartender says, "That's really fascinating!  Wherever did you get it?"
"Around the corner at the cemetery," responded the parrot, "there's THOUSANDS of 'em."

The composers I referenced are all foreign-born - only Desplat has written for American films (The Girl In The Pearl Earring, Syriana).  Pascal Esteve wrote a great score for Patrice Leconte's Intimate Confessions, Krishna Levi wrote the faboo background score to Francois Ozon's 8 Women, and Mr. Rombi has written some glorious scores all to French films, including Ozon's latest, Angel.

Joe Hisaishi, of course, is the composer of all the Hayao Miyazaki anime classics like Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Naausicca, Kiki's Delivery Service, etc.

Good Evening!

I'm back from a wonderful day spent with Ma and Son Murphy.  We started at Levain, walked across Central Park, around the Upper East Side for a bit, down Fifth Avenue, spent some time in Takashimaya, then back over to Hell's Kitchen to pick up some music at Binder Casting* (where I also took the time to introduce DR Cason to some of the casting agents and associtates there), and then back home.

*bk - Someone, sometime from Binder Casting will be seeing The Brain this week - they're still coordinating schedules, but they promised that one if not two of them will see the show this week.

Was there a character called Mother Mucca from Winnemucca in the Tales of the City sequel?  Or was that already mentioned here?

Armistead Maupin and partner have recently been touring The Daintree Rainforest area of Queensland's Tropical North - with my friend Jim as their bus driver.  Michael Toliver lives.

I am not sure which part of GORILLA AT LARGE was more unsettling....the revelation of the true killer or Cameron Mitchell with VERY blond hair.

bk - I think DR Noel was just saying that because his show performs this weekend, today is their company's day off.  Which is done according to the AEA rules.  That's all.  He was "just sayin'", not "accusin'".

As for any NYMF shows not following the work-week rule, well, that would be VERY hard to do with Equity stage managers and actors involved.  And if that rule had been breached, well, then the whole company would have had the "option" to leave the production then and there.

Champagne truffles are the perfect accessory for capri pants.

Sunglasses, a long black cigarette holder and a cheese danish, too; then I'll see you at the corner of 5th Avenue and 57th Street.  Please bring $50.00. . .for the powder room.

*However, like DR SWW's work-week contract, the AEA contract also has a similar clause.  As long as one full-day off is provided within a seven-day period, it is possibly to work 12 days in a row.  -And I've worked on shows where that has been the case many times.  That scenario usually comes into play during tech weeks, or when a major holiday happens to break up the standard work-week in the middle.

Isn't the show running in Seattle through this coming weekend?

der B, thanks for the extra plug for THE WAR. I will be interested in hearing your take on the series.

My Dad could only watch part of it...too many memories and he didn't fight. He played the trombone. He was at Ft Dix between WWII and Korea. He told me tonight he was 13 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and he recounted in detail walking downtown with his dad, who he saw, what they said.  It was hard.

Their neighbor was a pilot, I think in the Pacific. He said he just couldn't watch.

Joanne Worley - does she swing her pearls in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE?

YES!

*And I saw her yesterday at the Broadway Cares Flea Market - they had a few strands of her pearls for sale and at the silent auction.  She even swung them around for the "winners", and I believe I saw her giving a lesson to one or two them too.

Cilla, how is Callie today?

Her eye still looked a little sore this morning. At noon I decided to come home and check one more time before calling the vet (I told Callie in the morning if it didn't get better she had to go to the doctor) Lo and behold, it was looking fine when I came home.  It's a titch red around the edges right now, but not running at all, so I think she's getting over it.

Yes, but such a QUALITY audience!

Browsing around on other sites, I've just come across what has to be one of the least tasteful advertising lines ever.

"Kotex fits.  Period."

 :P

LOL, not if you've ever had the products that don't fit...then it sounds pretty good.

  LOL!!

Do you think leopard print capris are a little too much or just very stylish?   And what sort of heels would you wear with them?
