I drove to the SpeedLine train station this morning and when I pulled up to the parking lot gate, I reached into my pocket for my SpeedLine pass and realized that I forgot to put my SpeedLine pass in my pocket. I not only forgot that pass, but also my Septa train pass and my office keycard. So I had to drive all the way back home and then all the way back to the SpeedLine train station. (I could have simply paid for the SpeedLine fare and bought a one day pass for the Septa train, but I would have really missed my office keycard.) Anyway, I got in only a half-hour late. I'll make up for it by leaving a half-hour early this afternoon.

You owe me a coke.I don't do coke. Sorry.
I thought THE ILLUSIONIST came out only last winter, DR JMK. Is this the film made by the same guy who did THE TRIPLETTES OF BELLEVILLE?
I think I'll go through some of the "Unpurchased" items in my Amazon Wish List and purchase them. For myself.Did that yesterday.
Travel vibes for DR KEVIN H

My laptop is headead for a major meltdown. I had planned to take it after the new year, but the bad sectors on my hard drive have doubled. The battery is bad. The Optical drive is bad.
So I will try to find a computer to log on somewhere or try it from my phone. But if you've noticed that I have been n for awhile you'll know.
Pray for Rosemary's Baby's Laptop (The title for my new play)

They just announced that we're waiting for our crew to arrive and the flight is delayed by 20 minutes. All connections are fine, the agent says.

Just read a disturbing report: THE ADDAMS FAMILY will be closing on B'way this Saturday and, after having played over one year and eight months, will still lose *all* of its original 16.5 million dollar investment.
Reading something like that makes me realize--I really don't understand show business.
I don't think Memphis has made back its investment either and it cost much less to stage than Addams Family.Just read a disturbing report: THE ADDAMS FAMILY will be closing on B'way this Saturday and, after having played over one year and eight months, will still lose *all* of its original 16.5 million dollar investment.

I think it happens much more often than you think. And I also think that several shows that have trumpeted recoupment have flat out lied.
If that don't take the rag offen the bush, DR JMK!
Jeanne, there certainly was a geographical element, but as I recall in this guy's thesis, the geography was actually more linked to socioeconomic status--in other words, better off people in, say, Appalachia wouldn't pronounce the "t" while the backwoods folk would.
Offin is what I say.

Left work early but the joke was on me--had to wait for a half hour in the cold, wind and pouring rain for a late train.Bummer.

Does streaming through Netflix make money for the show investors, (and/or the DVD/Blu-ray that's going to be released) or does that (potential) profit go to completely different people/investors? I've always wondered about that.
JMK, just what brought on this discussion? Maybe I shouldn't ask!

Just a bunch of people on the teevee saying it with the "t".
Ugh... Horrible item on the news just now about a horrible crime with ties to Richmond and Indiana. :-\Yuck. Horrible story.
Jrand, it's all in one, just as my other one was. It's so fast, I just can't believe it.
And speaking of the tee-vee...
Is any DR - DR George perhaps - going to be recording tonight's "Kennedy Center Honors"? I'll be in My Fair Lady Land tonight, so I'll miss it, and my parents don't have a DVR nor VCR.
Scroll down the list but you'll see we've won several "awards" on this guy's site - doesn't really mean much, but it's nice nonetheless. Melody won most unique cabaret act (I ONLY create unique cabaret acts) :) Jason won for his act, and best CDs of the year are all Kritzerland titles - Jason, Melody, and People In The Picture.

I don't use the Wish List, I just put things in my cart and then "Save for later." I got $100 in gift cards/certificates for Christmas! I intend to spend every $ very soonly. :D
But depending on what I get with my $, I may get as few as two items or many more items than two.
Today's The Times They Are A-Changin' Rant: When I was being raised, we were taught that the "t" in often was silent, and in fact I knew a guy who was working on his Master's Degree at the same time I was working on mine who did a thesis on the different "classes" of people who pronounced the word variously with the "t" silent or not. In those days (early 80s), saying the "t" was a sign of a less "privileged" socioeconomic upbringing, at least according to this guy's research. In the ensuing years, things have changed and it's harder and harder to find anyone who pronounces "often" without saying the "t."

How much can the Botswana Cast Recording of THE FULL MONTY possibly cost?

But how do you say mary, marry, and merry?
I'm home! Thanks to all for the travel vibes.Strange story, but glad you're home safe.
It was a long day, but I arrived at DCA only about 10 minutes later than originally scheduled since I was on a non-stop flight.
This is what happened. We boarded the flight to JFK at 2:15 for a 3:05 departure. I called my friend in DC and told him what was going on. He offered to check my flight status (for both flights ) on the Delta website. In a minute or so he said, "This is odd. It says your flight is cancelled." I told him that we were all on board and asked why they would do that if the flight had been cancelled. Well, we chatted for a few more minutes and sure enough, the gate agent got on the speaker and told us the flight had indeed been cancelled due to weather and traffic control problems in New York.
My friend found the number for Delta and I called while still on the plane. I was able to get a non-stop flight to Washington, leaving at 5:25. I had to go to the luggage area and after about an hour the luggage from the cancelled flight came out. Then I had to go to US Airways to check in there. Then back through security. I got a little somthing to eat. I went to the gate for my flight and the agent said that there were no flights allowed to DC and that the flight would be leaving at about 6:10. But shortly thereafter we were able to board and actually left at about 5:55.
I had broken my own rule--I always try and get a nonstop morning flight, but the fares were substantially higher for those flights at the time I made my reservation.
And here's another review for the Blu and Ray of Nudie Musical - my only complaint is that he didn't use the word "fun" enough :)

I'm not sure, but it's probably more than the Greek cast recording (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Adres-Me-Ta-Ola-Tous-0-Greek-Cast/6159).
;)

Kevin, don't tell me who wins; I want to be surprised,
Kevin, I am glad that you made it home safely.
We are playing Taboo. I had the world "Pound." My clue was, "Famous poet Ezra. . ." Betsy answers, "I don't know." I say, "It's also a weight." "Oh!" exclaims Betsy. "Kilogram."LOL!
