Well, you've read the notes, the notes were really big and spoke of our shew, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're getting ready to do a really big MOO.
-
And the word of the day is: LIEGE!
-
good morning
-
good morning Michael!
'
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all! I had several bizarre dreams, but all I remember is one in which I was in the nineteenth century, a search at the morgue for a child who fell off a boat into the lake, a stern father who was uprooting his family; it was a rather depressing series of events.
Today, more DEAREST ENEMY work, some errands, and naybe some time to myself.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
I'm up. We had a cold front go though with a line of heavy showers. Sheena was scared but all is well now. They say we have already hit our high for the day and the temp will just go down from here. We could even have frost tonight! Burrr!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
DR Ben, how was the movie?
-
DR Jane re: ebook prices and if they drop.
I definitely don't think that the price of a new book would drop for a while. But if there is a book you want I would say just keep checking. Because I think sometimes the prices change for a very short time.
-
Sunday Morning it is.
-
Good morning.
-
And the word of the day is: LIEGE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: FOLLOW ME
-
Morning all.
That is all.
DR Ben, how was the movie?
Loved it! Noticed the differences. I think the changes they made for the stage version work very well. I'm glad I saw the movie. Both the film and the show are wonderful.
-
Congrats to DR DRUXY on his millstone.
Great piccolo news from DR CILLA LIZ.
-
Performance vibes for MR BK & Company.
Closing night vibes for DR GEORGE.
-
I think we should have a KMA Day. We haven't had one of those for a long time.
I will start.
Joe Marzullo - KMA!
-
KMA?
-
KMA?
I believe it might be an acronym for Kiss My A**, but I could be mistaken.
-
DR JMK is correct.
-
Who produced the Kuhn CD?
-
So Rush has apologized - kind of.
-
Last night I watched J. EDGAR - and it was okay. Some of the old age makeup was really BAD.....
My major problems - most of the scenes were TOO DARK....in some of the scenes, the actors decided to do Whisper-acting....and the music was bad....
I liked Leo as J. Edgar - and everyone in the rest of the cast except the Richard Nixon and Robert Kennedy impersonators...both BAD.
Interesting, jumble of a movie.....
-
So Rush has apologized - kind of.
Puh-leeze. As in, rhymes with sleaze.

DR Jane thought you may find this interesting. It talks about the digital books from our library and how publishers are cutting off libraries from buying books.
-
I would like to see A SCARLET HOUR with Mr Tom Tryon and Ms Carol Ohmart......
-
Today the entire flute choir is expected to be at rehearsal. I'm not really clear on the number of people but I'll find out today. Looking forward to it
-
I have decided I don't like anyone in any party running for office so I'm no longer going to pay attention to politics. I've voted for what was in my mind the lesser of two evils too many elections in a row. Not sure I'll even vote in November
-
Besides, the world is going to end in December so why worry about it ;)
-
For those who might be interested, I'll be on Beverley's World of Music on BBC Radio Wales this afternoon. The show airs live from 4pm to 6pm NY time (adjust accordingly based on your location). I have a review of Anything Goes (which I liked). You can listen live
BBC Radio Wales (http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/)
or wait until the show is on iPlayer for the next 7 days (sometime after 6pm NY time)
Beverley's World of Music (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0198j0n)
I don't know where I am in the show but I usually appear sometime around the half-hour mark (don't take that as gospel)
-
I have already cut WAY WAY back on attention to politics. It's too dirty and messy and I'm sick of it. I'm tired of feeling like my head will explode so the solution is to stop listening.
-
I think that DR BEN and DR CILLA LIZ are reflecting the current general opinion....and we aren't even at the conventions yet!!!
-
I have a board meeting today.
-
All alone on a Sunday.
-
I often wish I had a skill with a musical instrument. I can't play piano or guitar now because of the arthritis in my hands. I guess I'll just have to whistle. :)
I gave on politics a long time ago. You think your doing a good thing voting for someone who will do something and then nothing happens.
I was just sitting here thinking--has it really been a week since I was so excited to be flying out to NYC? It just seems so strange to be so excited about something and now it's all over. Do I really have to go back to work tomorrow? Sigh.
-
I'm up, I'm up, after a good night's sleep.
-
Of course I produced the Kuhn CD (she only has one) - I didn't like most of the arrangements then, but she did, and a couple of them were fine. Her performances of the songs are terrific, but it's not an album I've ever loved and I really don't understand the lack of strings until the very end of the album. I can see exactly why I sequenced it the way I did, but it baffles me.
-
Finally had an opportunity to see a brief segment of DR Danise's appearance on the Anderson Cooper Show.I had hoped it would be on Demand, but it wasn't. So I saw the wonderful things that the show did for Danise.
My questions is did Danise have to take the washer and dryer back with her on the airplane? :-0
-
Found out yesterday that there is another little evening of Jule Styne happening three days before our show - and that one is using the person we were hoping would be our guest star. I haven't exactly been silent about our next show, and maybe it's just coincidence. The other show takes place in a private home, but there is such a limited audience for these things that I'm now thinking of changing ours to something else - which is a BIG pain in the ass to do at this point since I cast this show around this composer. I shall ponder whilst I jog.

Yes, I believe it is called a sale. ;D

Since the older books were priced higher I was concerned the price would go up after it was released. I guess I'll find out for sure in a couple of days.

DR Jane thought you may find this interesting. It talks about the digital books from our library and how publishers are cutting off libraries from buying books.
Thanks. I don't really understand the reasoning behind this & the wait for an eBook can be longer than a hardcover. I think the publishers believe they can sell more eBooks by limiting the supply to the libraries. In my case they are correct. I don't feel as bad now that I can purchase most books from my local store through google eBooks. I can't pre-order them though which prompted my questions concerning the lower price on the book I want.
-

I know how you feel :(
-
Pull up DR Danise's most recent post & you can read all about that. :)
-
Back from the four-mile jog and have figured out a different way to go for the next show that would still enable me to use some Jule Styne songs without it being a Styne evening - I may just do it - Bob Merrill.
-
I agree with CillzLiz, Ben and Danise on the political stuff. It's too much sound and fury signifying nothing. Though that lack of significance says way too much. It's all depressing.
-

Love Bob Merrill idea. Even his flops, and he had quite a few, had some great songs in them. Though you could also do Comden and Green to get to Styne.

When I first purchased my Kindle, I actually read all the stuff that came with it. I believe, at the time, Amazon said that the Kindle price was always set by the publisher. Don't know if it still true.
-
Merrill it is - have officially made the switch. Now, I don't know about you, but let me just say - PAGE TWO???
-
If you need any off the beaten path Merrill, I've got "Hannah" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" I can share.
-
Just tried cleaning out a closet -- I'm not a horder, truly. But I think that despite the fact that I put away an entire box for Goodwill and I threw away a great amount of stuff, it looks messier than before. And that could describe too much of this house. Spring cleaning will be extensive this year.
-
To those who might listen to Beverley's World of Music later on the iPlayer, my segment appears at about 1 hour and 20 minutes into the program. She has an interview with a Welsh musician and that segues into my review of Anything Goes.
See the link at the top of this page (Page 2) for access to BWoM at BBC Radio Wales

I feel like I've voted for the lesser of two evils all my voting life.
-
Oh, Laura, your quotes always make me laugh!!!
-
That refers to cowboys and Denny's, by the way.
-
Channel 21 just broadcast this heartbreaking documentary about Marie Antoinette. I have no urge to ever see the Norma Shearer film again and I've never seen the Coppola attempt. I feel this and the wonderful Antonia Fraser biography do the dead woman justice.
-
Sunday evening greetings! Richard and I got home from Lima quite early today, but I had to have a nap because I'd been awake since about 3:30am. Much better now...
-
Watching "The Gingerbread Man" this afternoon. Forgot how tense this movie was.
-
One more.
-
Page three!
-
Best wishes to BK and company for tonight's "really big shew!"
-
Must go do a couple of small errands and whatnot, after which I shall go to sound check, and then show.

Well, I went back and finished the closet. I got rid of 75 percent of the contents. Filled about half of the outside trash can. Why do I collect all this stuff?
-
making meatloaf
-
been doing laundry
-
we had a substitute Pastor this weekend as our Pastor was at Retreat with a bunch of the congregation
I was assisting minister and I really had to assist because i had to tell the sub when to talk and where to stand
-
then I was substituting for this month's Altar Guild lady as she was on the church retreat so I cleaned up reset communion for the next service
-
then the Vixter and I took our elderly parishioner lady to Panera where she and I had cream of chicken and wild rice soup and the Vixter had a toasted bagel and hot chocolate
-
after our meal we drove our lady home and then the Vixter and I went back to church to clean up communion after the second service
-
We had offered the altar flowers this week in honor of my best friend for the past 40 years - next week will make 40 years that we met while on a church retreat
Since she is in Michigan and we could not send her the flowers we instead drove to the cemetary and put them at the grave of the Vixter's friend who was murdered in November.
-
then off to Quiznos to get Vixdad lunch and then finally home to do some laundry
-
hey ho the glamerous life
-
still doing laundry and the baked potatoes are keeping warm while the rolls are baking and the green beans are being steamed
-
all these boring posts and I still cannot get us to page four
-
but I am trying
-
(very)
-
there goes the timer - dinner is ready
-
oh good! Elmore and Cilla are here
-
I leave getting to page four in your capable hands
-
Hioe you have a great dinner Vixmom it sounds like it will be wonderful
-
I'm watching the 25th Anniversary Phantom of the Opera from the Royal Albert Hall. They are showing it during our public tv fundraising festival.

Possibly. The cost for the book I just purchased was only $2.99, the price on both the Nook & Kindle. I got lucky as I planned on ordering this book since my library didn't have it.
-
Well, I went back and finished the closet. I got rid of 75 percent of the contents. Filled about half of the outside trash can. Why do I collect all this stuff?
Wow!!! I'm impressed. I can't even get rid of a fourth of my closest. I know I must do so in the near future.
-

I have been watching some of PHANTOM - but will switch over to The Amazing Race......
Bob Merrill.....I LOVE his songs from New Girl In Town.....
Roll Your Socks Up
Did You Close Your Eyes?
Ain't No Flies on Me
-
Break a leg vibes to BK and company!
-
One thing about having a small house, you don't have any closet space so I am constantly taking things to the local Goodwill. My problem is kitchen gadgets. I don't know why I have to buy those things but I do.
At least I don't buy as many cookbooks as i used to. Now that we have the net, I can look up whatever I want. I spend a lot time on different web sites looking for something new to try.
-
i wanted to ask you folks something. I see Anderson Cooper has a page on Facebook. I would very much like to say thank you to him for all the wonderful things but I don't want to start anything -- you know feed any animals out there. Do you think I should post something?
-
Having trouble watching TAR. Nothing makes me more disgusted than bragging macho border patrol agents...I think it's an occupational thing

I recorded this last night.

What is your Facebook profile like? Is it private or can anybody read it? If it's private, then I don't see anything wrong with posting anything.
-
Now, I have to force myself to start writing some of my papers.
-
Danise, I don't think it hurts if you post something, but didn't they give you any contact information through the show so you know that he would see your note?
-
Good point about the private profile.
-
Watching POTO. It's flat. Not a good at all.
-
Danise, I don't think it hurts if you post something, but didn't they give you any contact information through the show so you know that he would see your note?
Yes but I didn't know if it would be nice to post something on the public board.
-
I can't help you DR Danise. The only FB celebrity I'm friends with is Bruce.
-
I downloaded an eBook from my library today I doubt I can read. The print is extremely small & light. When I attempt to open the page for size, front, etc all I get is multiple pages from the book lined up at the bottom of the page where the font, etc info should be.
-
I can't help you DR Danise. The only FB celebrity I'm friends with is Bruce.
It's the FB page for the show. You just have to look for Anderson Cooper to bring it up.
-
He appears to have a number of pages. I went to the one Cilla "likes" & didn't find any comments except under his photos.
-

I have seen where books have been cheaper if you pre-order way in advance. How long till your ebook comes out? If you see the price drop you can probably get the difference back. But since it only cost three dollars you ae probably good.
-

I am guessing that he does not have anything to do with the show's facebook page. If you want to thank the show then i would post there. Can you send private messages to the page?If so this is what I would do. Or I bet the show's website has a contact email and they could forward your message to him. Does he have a personal facebook page? One that he actually writes. I do follow him on twitter and it definitely seems like he does his own tweets.
-

Yes but I didn't know if it would be nice to post something on the public board.
You can always send him a private message and that way no one else will be able to read it.
-
I think so. I'm just not sure what the correct protocol is. I noticed that no other guest on the show has posted and I went back several shows so I'm thinking it might be wrong to do so. I don't want to do something wrong but I don't know how exactly to say thank you without looking like I'm trying to keep myself in the public eye. I guess the old fashion card/letter might be the best way to go about it.

They will be released in two days. I'm guessing the $2.99 book is similar in size to the Lisa Gardner book that was also only released as an eBook. The $9.99 book is the newest novel.

If you send a card it can be addressed to his staff as well.

Another vote for snail mail DR DANISE.

No, DR Danise. I think you should send him a card at the production office address. It's more personal, and that Facebook page is not run by him; he's far too busy.
-
I am okay with TAR tonight, but I was kind of hoping the last place team was going to come on strong a few episodes into the the competition.
I am really annoyed with Brandon and Rachel and hope they go soon.
-
Good evening two guests!
-
Wow, Page Five! Congratulations Jrand for getting us there.

Ben,
Do you edit your piece with the music or is it done at the BBC? I liked how you mention the age of Mr. Grey and then there was an audio clip that reflected that.
-
I will send a card. I just wasn't sure in this day and age if posting would be better.
Well, My vacation week is over and I have to get back to work tomorrow. And what a week it was!
Night all! Gotta get my shower and hit the sack so it won't hit me back tomorrow. :)
-
Back from the four-mile jog and have figured out a different way to go for the next show that would still enable me to use some Jule Styne songs without it being a Styne evening - I may just do it - Bob Merrill.
Don't forget Bob Merrill's work as Paul Stryker for the Red Shoes. I think you recorded one of them.
-
I'm watching the 25th Anniversary Phantom of the Opera from the Royal Albert Hall. They are showing it during our public tv fundraising festival.
they are doing the same here - this is the one the Vixter and I went to see in the movies and we do now have the dvd - which we greatly enjoy!
-
DR GINNY is this like what you saw?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aohYey8Ekqw&feature=related
LOL - no, DR JRand, the girls last night were much better dancers. My real problem with them was their music - they can-canned to "Waitin' for the Robert E. Lee." Not very French.
-

If they have they have not published it in the papers --we have not seen his mom since the funeral but my m om sees his grandmother all the time (they are neighbors) she has never mentioned someone being found and of course it is not a subject one raises
-
Pull up DR Danise's most recent post & you can read all about that. :)
When one gets behind on reading posts things like this happen.
I forgot to mention that I got teary eyed when I saw it. I didn't know what they show did for her and this was so nice of them.
Far better than the shows that have DNA testing or revealing to your lover that you are really a transexual and having an affair with your lover's mother/father
-
I can't help you DR Danise. The only FB celebrity I'm friends with is Bruce.
What about me?
And DR TCB. :)
-
OK, Richard and I are going to check out the pilot for GCB - back later...
-
I also vote with a personal note/letter direct to him and I would also write to his staff and to Angie to say "thank you" rather than to to post on any forum
-

'night
-
If I do say so myself dinner was very nice --- all comfort food and since the Vixter and Vixdad have both been under the weather and the weather has been cold and rainy it made them feel better -- I can however feel the pounds piling on -- I may be too large for the sofa soon
-
Last night I discovered that on the "free on demand" channel on our cable service I could watch all the episodes of SMASH - I quite enjoyed it
-
falling asleep - have a goodnight all!
-
I would like to see A SCARLET HOUR with Mr Tom Tryon and Ms Carol Ohmart......
And indeed you will my friend, you will!

Michael, I just supply a wav file with the review (which I write myself) and recommendations for music from the show. All the editing is done by Mark, the producer. He does a great job.

Just watched a childhood favorite on Netflix streaming...HIGHWAY DRAGNET (1954).

Wow, it was even better than I remembered! This one really deserves a DVD release!

Prior to that I watched, on DVDr, THE WOMEN OF PITCAIRN ISLAND...John Smith, James Craig, Lynn Bari, Sue England, and my interviewee Rad Fulton in a very tiny role and a very tiny outfit.
Hadn't seen this movie since my high school days. It is fun...but it is pretty bad.

Was Lynn Bari the woman in "Sun Valley Serenade" with Sonja Henie and John Payne? I always liked her.

Three pages written. No transition. Just ideas, but it's a start.

I can't help you DR Danise. The only FB celebrity I'm friends with is Bruce.
What about me?
And DR TCB. :)
Thank you.

Six pages written. it's a start. But it's time for bed. Night, all.

Good TAR tonight!
I like most of the teams, except the Border agents. Not crazy about either of the Rachels, but I like their partners Ralph and Brendon.

Back from a rather spectacularly good show. Everything worked perfect - I improvised a bit to good effect tonight, just playing off things that happened. More in the notes, but it was definitely one of our best shows.
-
Congrats on the successful Kritzerland show, BK!!

Closing night vibes for DR GEORGE.
Thanks, JRand! We had a great show today! A coworker came to see the show, as did my sister's boyfriend. It was a great performance to end on. After that, we had to strike the set and clean up some things and take the pieces to the TAO storage unit. Our show ended at 4:00 pm and those of us who went to the storage unit were done at 8:30...there were only four of us at the very end. That's the problem. Most people help right at the beginning of strike, but then a lot of them leave very quickly. :P

But I'm not bitter.
;)

Found out yesterday that there is another little evening of Jule Styne happening three days before our show - and that one is using the person we were hoping would be our guest star. I haven't exactly been silent about our next show, and maybe it's just coincidence. The other show takes place in a private home, but there is such a limited audience for these things that I'm now thinking of changing ours to something else - which is a BIG pain in the ass to do at this point since I cast this show around this composer. I shall ponder whilst I jog.
It almost sounds like you're becoming quite the trend setter in the L.A. cabaret world. :D

When I first purchased my Kindle, I actually read all the stuff that came with it. I believe, at the time, Amazon said that the Kindle price was always set by the publisher. Don't know if it still true.
This is true. We're dealing with the issues and it all comes from the publishers.

I think I may order the DVD of this
I LOVED THIS!! ;D
Much more than Love Never Dies...which I did enjoy, but just didn't LOVE it.

Well, I went back and finished the closet. I got rid of 75 percent of the contents. Filled about half of the outside trash can. Why do I collect all this stuff?
Someday, I'll do this throughout my house and then actually ORGANIZE everything.
Of course, I've been saying that for years.
