Nice to see you Ginny!!  Any new Vera?

Of course, DR Vixmom!  The Cincinnati signature store is previewing the fall patterns, 2 of which I don't like at all, 1 could grow on me, and 1 (Plum Petals) I love.  Bought a purse and cosmetic in that design

Saturday morning greetings!  It's raining here in SW Ohio.  Later today, Richard and I are going to Cincinnati's Kenwood Towne Center for him to shop for clothes and for me to meet up with my Vera girlfriends.  I also need to shop for clothes and may do some of that Wednesday when we're in Lima.  Yes, Lima has a very nice mall with 4 (count 'em, 4) anchor stores.

I thought Lima was Sunday?

Yes, it is, DR TCB, but this week we're going for Shrove Tuesday's pancake supper and staying over for Fr. Richard to do the Ash Wednesday service at 7pm.  That gives us all day in Lima and there are 2 things I want to do - shop at the mall and visit the public library.

are you going to dress in your oldest clothes and wander the stacks arguing with yourself?

No, DR Danise, LOL!  This is one of Vera Bradley's marketing techniques - they make a limited number of items in upcoming fabrics and make them available for purchase only in sig stores for a very short period of time.  The response to them, apparently, helps them decide production quantities as the season gets closer.  Later this month, for example, they will release the patterns that were previewed in November.

That's kind of a NO, NO and I'd hate for the Vera police to come after BK for having them on his site...

My guess is that it is a rock, George. A very large rock.

No, but they were pretty damned heavy!  A couple of arbor gates with trellises...they were wrought iron and the boxes (according to the labeling on the outside) were 136 pounds each!  My dad backed up his truck into their garage and all we had to do was slide them out of the truck bed and leave them in the garage.  In a few weeks, on a day of no rehearsing and after my parents have removed their old wooden trellises, I'll help them put them together and set them up....in a few weeks.

I don't remember "The Electric Company." I know what it was, but I don't think I ever saw it.

I saw "You Only Live Once" in a film class 30 years ago. I wasn't taking the class but I did go to all the showings because, well, it was a free movie. I can't tell you how much my sister and I laughed at this movie. We howled in hysteria almost from start to finish. We didn't buy the melodrama for a second.

The students in the class wanted to laugh, but they couldn't because they knew how much the professor loved it. But when Sylvia Sydney stands in front of a big window with the word "DRUGS" in huge letters and then breaks the window, that broke it for the class. They laughed and yelled along with my sister and me.

The professor, in a rage, tried to get Annaliese and me barred from seeing the movies, but he couldn't do that because it was a public institution and anyone could audit any class he or she chose. So, he rescheduled the screening room, but we found out about it and showed up anyway. He forgave us when we were the only two that understood Werner Herzog's surreal quasi-documentary "Fata Morgana."

Anyway, it's been 30 years and I still remember scenes from "You Only Live Once"  as if it were yesterday. Nothing that bad could stay in the mind that clearly. At least I don't think so. I've seen thousands of movies since and few have left that lasting an impression. I will have to look for it at the library to see what I would think of it now. I do enjoy most everything else of Fritz Lang's I've seen since.

I have to decide to go to the auditions
I have to get cast in the show.
I have to accept the role

Ifs like that.
One step at time.  The first step is up to you.  I say go to the audition.  You can not control getting cast but you can say YES when (note I did not say if) you win the role.

Very good advice.  I had better go read the script.  I played the role twnety years ago, and if I remember correctily, there are a heck of a lot of lines.
Is it to soon to say "Break a leg"?

It's never too soon!
