Two previous entries up on the list is this one:

Cock up - A cock up means you have made a mistake. It has nothing to do with parts of the male body.

In case anyone is interested here is the site itself.

Nothing personal, BrettySpaghetti, but the few who are gushing are doing so on their own recognizance and not representing the rest of us who can contain/comport ourselves without drooling.    ;)

Right. Nonetheless, I'm going to continue assuming that they represent the rest of you. That is how I roll.

It's like a slip 'n' slide in here sometimes!

And that's a bad thing, right?  ;)

Matthew, this is from a site on British slang:

Cor - You'll often hear a Brit say "cor"! It is another one of those expressions of surprise that we seem to have so many of. It will sometimes be lengthened to "cor blimey" or "cor love a duck", depending on where you are. "Cor blimey" is a variation of "Gawd Blimey" or "Gor Blimey". They are all a corruption of the oath "God Blind Me

DR Ben, thanks for this info, this clears up everything!

And the word of the day is: STERNUTATION!
I find STERNUTATION a great way of getting what is TRANSIENT OUT of my nose.

Well...

The Polticos urged Barak Obama to sidestrp the "rae issue"

He decided, instead, to confront it head on.

His speech in Philadelphia hit the ball squarely out of the park.

"Reasonable" people will be assuaged/convinced - and for the others there is no hope.

"Issues" aside, if your want a new leader for the 21st Century this is the man.

der Brucer

I'm waiting for someone from Hillary's camp to cite what speeches he plagarized this one from.

If it were a McMansion, it would need a 3 car garage taking up the entire first floor.  :)

For JMK:

Your suggestion yesterday that my Republican chip might have been implanted a Bear Lake is way off-base.

I was working in the Philadelphia Eisenhower headquarters in 1956.

However, the chip may have received a tune up.

That's sad, but what neck operation would be considered routine?

I was wondering the same thing.  Then I read the surgery was last week to remove a growth. ???

Well, I thought knowing the abbreviation would help me, but it doesn't. The topic of the day is...this list of movies? Is Tom throwing out all of these to discuss in terms of what ties them all together, or are we to discuss them piecemeal, or what? I am ashamed to say I have only seen Raiders. Well, I only remember Raiders. I saw Reds when it first came out and was bored by it.
Bretty, when you log onto the site, you're "supposed" to read BK's notes for the day first.  That lets us all in on what is goiing on in his life (which can be plenty), and generally gives a reason, or at least an excuse, for the TOD.  The TOD itself is chosen by our esteemed BK, except for Thursdays, which is "Ask BK Day," when we DRs ask BK (and each other) a question, and Sundays, which is sort of a free for all day.

If you are having trouble finding BK's Notes, go to the upper part of this screen, find where it says "Today's Column" right under the main logo, and click.

Wiggles is becoming more and more a part of the family.

It's taken a few days, but he now realizes that he's allowed to be on the couch.  This is particularly nice, because he gets to cuddle next to der Brucer.

Then Fletcher decided that he, too, wanted to be on the couch, at the end opposite der B.  Wiggles watched very carefully as Fletcher carefully positioned himself at his end, not very sure if he was supposed to make way for the giant spotted thing.

Fletcher and Wiggles are now sharing the couch, butt to butt.

*happy sigh*

I suddenly have this image in my mind, of our esteemed one jumping high in the air and waving his hands and arms about.

That's probably not what he means by "move quickly," but it has a certain aesthetic to it.

Actually, "The Unseemly Button" is basically a "continued" and he goes on waxes poetic for a few more paragraphs....
Hmmm... so Bretty is having trouble with his buttons?

I guess that the antibiotics are taking effect, for now I am in pain!
The swelling went up last night, completely closing my right eye.
Of course this was before bedtime, and I did manage to take in GOLDENEYE on dvd before the swelling continued.
Then, in the middle of the night, the pain began.  It's supposedly 'good pain,' meaning that the drugs are doing their work.
The swelling has gone down this morning, especially so after a long, hot, hot shower.
Thank goodness I don't go to any workplace until Thursday morning.
Still a chipmunk, though.   ;D
One of the main characters in Enchanted (due out today on DVD) is a chipmunk.

I'll be thinking of you!
