Did you give him that frock?

He's sick!  That's why I like him.  Has he told his current employers to stick it?

Hello Antonia and welcome!

Came on to share some good news.  I officially decided I am coming to Ne York sometime after the 6th of August and before the 22nd. They are going to do some presentations at the end of the A Tale of Two Cities summer workshop that I am going to attend and I was already thinking about coming so I said to myself, "What the hay." Now's as good of time as any. I'm already looking for plane tickets and trying to decide which shows I want to see... Six years of waiting and a little over a month away!  ;D

I'm back, and to prove it, I'm here.

WELCOME TPUNK, we LOVE you!

I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at the Hollywood Hamburger Hamlet.  It was, however, preceded with a most interesting meeting with the Hollywood Redevelopment organization.

Just 20 minutes until Big Brother 6...get ready BK, as us reality show fans will be at it again (just when you thought it was safe!).

My best friend and his family are in London now; I'm supposed to pick them up on Sunday from the airport, and then we're going to see HAIRSPRAY whose national tour has been in Charlotte for the past two weeks.

I have not gotten an e-mail, so I have no idea if they're OK or not, but I'm hoping for the best.

DR Joey, you will be arriving in NYC right after I have left. But if this is your first time in the city, I know you will enjoy yourself.

Welcome, Antonia!

Joey - you're going to LOVE New York! See SPELLING BEE if you get the chance.

I just got in from seeing ALTAR BOYZ and I must admit, despite my trepidation, I had a really good time. The show overstayed its welcome by about 10 minutes, but I can forgive that thanks to Tyler Maynard's hilarious performance. He really was the star of that show, even when he didn't mean to be. The other guys were great - don't get me wrong - but Tyler owned that audience.

A lot of fun...see it if you can before this cast leaves (next week, I think...?). It's worth it.

And now I need a shower. (Not because of the show...just because it's humid outside!)

Earlier tonight, I watched the laserdisc of FLAMINGO ROAD, and while I was watching, I realized how far we've come in becoming discerning about our home video quality.

For years, I have thought this a perfectly acceptable video of this film, but tonight, I started noticing all the speckles, splices, what looked like water damage, and other debris as the movie unfolded. It didn't spoil it exactly, but it made me realize how much my standards have been raised since DVD has raised the stakes in our expectations of what constitutes a good video transfer. If this were on DVD in the same shape as it is on laser, I'd be screaming from the rooftops, and I suspect a lot of other people would, too.

Sorry to miss you, but my summer job isn't officially over until the 6th. I'm sure you'll survive without me though.  ;)

Thanks for the good wishes for my friends. I do wish they'd find an internet cafe and just drop me a note. I guess their cell phone wouldn't work from over there.

And I see from the little note written in my calendar that DR TCB opens in 42ND STREET tomorrow, so here are early broken limb wishes for him to have a smashing first night.
