THE TROUBLE WITH SCHUMANN

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the trouble with Schumann, and now it is time for you to post until the troubled cows come home.

Well, I'm off to bed...and it'll be my bed, not my parents' couch!  Thanks for all the vibes and good wishes for my mom!  I'll be checking in with her more often than usual. :)

Have a good day, all!

I slept well.  I remember fragments of two dreams: I was walking to 72nd Street with John McGlinnm then U had an impossible time trying to get a taxi in the rain.  In the other I asked my father to finish some construction work in my bedroom, and a couple of my cousins were in the dream as well.  I think there was a cat, too.

I don't know if I'm up to spending the day taking the bathroom apart and thoroughly cleaning it.  I'm waffling about it.

I had the weirdest night. Woke up at 3:30, adjusted the a/c, visited the necessary, and proceeded to toss and turn for nearly two hours while occasionally falling into a kind of half sleep. One of those half sleeps (maybe it was a full sleep) produced a bizarre dream, of which I only remember getting ready to accompany a singer in something that made no sense at all. There were other things later once I got to sleep again, and those are gone with the wind. Oy! So now I'm up, and good riddance to the whole damned thing.

And now, for my Monday morning surprise, I find that the federal tax withholding amount in my monthly pension deposit just increased by a noticeable amount. There's not a word of explanation anywhere, and I know I didn't change anything. I'll have to call the company that pays these later and find out what's up with that.

The Gardiner Schumann approach sounds interesting. I suspect that any of those old boys sound leaner and attain more clarity when played by an orchestra of proper period size. As I recall, we did it with Beethoven a few times.

We do TWO "workshops" for kids every year.
In June we have SHAKESPEARED! wherein in middle school students to a scaled down production of a play and then the high school kids to a rock/modern version of the same play.....  It last two weeks.....with a performance on the last Saturday.

In July we do a Children's Theatre Workshop wherein the group does original plays written by CHILDREN - it lasts one week.

It's always great fun for all involved and is very popular.  And most of the folks who come to see their little darlings NEVER attend any other performance at the Playhouse - but they are generous in their suggestions at how we can do everything BETTER.....  And heaven forbid ANY of them ever volunteer to help make the workshops go easier.

I also like several of "The Little Rascals".

Years ago, I interviewed a couple of them (.e.e Darla Hood, Stymie Beard) for my monthly column in CORONET magazine.

That column and others are in my book, HOLLYWOOD SNAPSHOTS: The Forgotten Interviews.

Full moon (and empty arms) today:

There’s a lot of exciting energy in the air as the full moon rises in social Aquarius and mingles with the outgoing, attention-seeking Leo sun. Through the oppositional duality of this cosmic combination, we begin to further understand the relationship between only helping out ourselves versus being a humanitarian by helping others.

No matter how you decide to spend your day, most of the time you’ll probably find yourself in a party state of mind. Even if you can’t actually attend any ragers now, the general vibe says to relax and have a good time. This progressive lunation reminds us that there’s something bigger than just ourselves going on in the universe, and we’re all lucky to be invited to join in that universal connection!

DR DRUXY I just saw Gigi in The Cool and the Crazy!  I also liked her in The Betty Hutton Show when I was little.  She was always so sincere.

I also just watched Steve Kanaly in BIG WEDNESDAY last night.....interesting movie.

Today is my 10th SCADiversary.  On this day in 2010, I experienced a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection that caused a heart attack.  A lot has happened in the ensuing decade and I'm grateful to have been around for all most of it.

It depends if it is a legal age, maturity level, or if in general than under 13.  How are you using it?
