Here's the world of the weird department. I went to look at the house next door and the other next door neighbor showed up....turns out it's the mother of an old flame of mine.  Someone I didn't get alone with particularly well.  It was a shocker to find out she lives 2 doors down

Yes, DR CILLA LIZ - that is one of the few books I have read that made me laugh out loud.

I am not sure if it was the monkey on the water tower or the whacked out Christmas pageant....or the man on the cruise who died and whose Dance Champion banner froze to his tuxedo....

Not that this has any relevance to your post, Cilla, but now I can't get that darn Dolly Parton song out of my head:

Two doors down
They're laughing and drinkin', and having a party
Two doors down
They're not aware that I'm around

Cause here I am
Crying my heart out, feelin' sorry while
They're having a party two doors down

I think I'll dry these useless tears
And get myself together
I think I'll wonder down the hall
And have a look around
'Cause I can't stay inside
This lonely room and cry forever
I think I really rather join 'em
Two door down, yeah

Two doors down
They're laughing and drinkin', and having a party
Two doors down
They're not aware that I'm around

'Cause here I am
No longer cryin' an' feelin' sorry
We're having a party just two doors down

I can't believe I'm standin' here
Dry-eyed, all smiles and talkin'
Making conversation with the new love I have found
I ask him if he's like to be alone and we start walkin'
Down the hall to my place waitin' two doors down, yeah

Two doors down
They're laughing and drinkin', and having a party
Two doors down
They're not aware that I'm around

'Cause here I am
Feelin' everything but sorry
We're having our own party two doors down

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Two doors down
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Two doors down
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Two doors down
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Two doors down, oh

Two doors down
They're laughing and drinkin', and having a party
Two doors down
They're not aware that I'm around

'Cause here we am
Feelin' everything but sorry
We're havin' our own party
Two doors down, yeah

Two doors down
They're laughing and drinkin', and having a party
Two doors down
They're not aware that I'm around

Thanks.

Anyone read a good book lately?  I recently read Kite Runner and Peace Like a River and loved them both. I'm looking for something to read and am planning a trek to B & N this weekend, so suggestions are welcome

I just read THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and enjoyed it quite a lot.  I loved GEEK LOVE by Katherine Dunn, almost as much as CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES, and I think Miss Jane Austen the greatest novelist ever.  I also liked the following bios:
  Elizabeth I by Alison Weir
Six Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir
  Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraser

My brother and I both enjoyed the new history of the search for John Wilkes Booth, MANHUNT, and Jane glover's MOZART'S WOMEN was wonderful.

I enjoyed watching the end of THE OPPOSITE SEX earlier this afternoon. I always think of DR MBarnum when Jeff Richards walks out in that form fitting outfit and "sings" Rock 'n Roll Tumbleweeds."

Time will tell.

Where is everybody?  They are not at work with me.

Maybe they are at rehearsal with Mr BK.  Maybe they are voting for American Idol.

I don't know, man.  I just don't know.

DR ELMORE did you get Mario fixed?

DR Elmore, thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm venturing to B & N tomorrow.  I was going to go today, but ended up trimming trees at my old house. My neighbor there wanted a couple trimmed so they aren't hanging over her house before the new people move in.
