Well, you've read the notes, the notes made your acquaintance, and now it is time for you to post until the acquainted cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CATHEXIS!
-
First post after BK.
-
TCB, read my final post in the other thread :)
-
Thank you, BK, for the good advice.

-
Good night.

Gratuitous Post #7!
;)
-
BK, congrats to you and Kay and John on a successful show for Kay!

CARMEN
Ditto! My very first actual theatrical stage experience ever was in Western Washington University's (1987 or 1988, I can't remember now) production of CARMEN. I was in the chorus and enjoyed the experience immensely.
-
I'll have to think of more for the Topic of the Day. There are several other operas that I like.
-
But now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
I am awake and have been since 4:30 I really needed to be sleeping
-
Lousy sore throat and heavy chest, runny nose....and I can't call in sick today
-
Good morning, all!
-
In 90 minutes I will leave for my eye appointment. This is also supposed to be the day of the Rapture for all those evangelical morons, so I will be keeping an eye out for any Horsemen of the Apocalypse. If I see one, I'll turn around and come home.
-
I'm happy to hear that Kay's show went well. I first met her in the mid-1980's when she did several guest appearances with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus on their Broadway-themed concerts.
-
Around 1971, I saw the opera Of Mice and Men at the Cincinnati Summer Opera. I remember very little about it now. There's a video performance of Susannah that I have not seen. It has received nice reviews/
-
Favorite operas; usually what I'm listening to at the moment, but I find these outstanding:
Don Giovanni, maybe the greatest, although I prefer The Marriage of Figaro
Carmen, I would kill to be able to compose something as wonderful as the Act Two quintet
The Rake's Progress
Amahl and the Night Visitors
The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny
Peter Grimes
La Boheme
Falstaff
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good day to all
-
Good morning, all.
-
I woke up thinking it just had to still be the weekend. Oy!
-
And today we’re back in the thick of it. This is tech (a.k.a. HELL) week for The Addams Family.
-
I don’t know those Floyd operas. This shall have to be rectified.
-
Well, I’m about to be mauled by a black cat. I had best get out of this recliner and go do my fatherly duty.
-
Thanks DR TCB and all for the condolences.
-
Great to hear that Kay's show went well. Congrats to ALL!

Morning. I have got to get ready to hit the road again 😊

I wonder what the road did to DR JANE to make her hit it?
-
Off to lunch with some friends from where I used to toil daily....
-
Monday morning greetings! Rainy here in SW Ohio today.
-
Good morning / afternoon.

Another sunny day in Tacoma (two in a row). It looks nice, but it isn't very warm yet.

Doctor’s verdict: it’s just a cyst. Need X-rays and another CAT scan in six months.

Good news DR JOHN G!

Off to rehearsal in a few minutes. Sandy the Dog whose real name is Turbo is supposed to be there so we can do the scene with the three of us.
There will be photos!

Nice lunch with friends and I learned some new facts about old acquaintances and of course revealed details of my weekend activities....and we ate.

Good afternoon.

The key: it doesn't matter what you choose for the whole cast to do, if they all do the exact same thing, in unison, on "Hey, Herbie" - the rest of the number can be a mess and it won't matter. :) As they say, nothing tops merry upbeat orphans like merry upbeat homeless people.

Doctor’s verdict: it’s just a cyst. Need X-rays and another CAT scan in six months.
Yay!!!

Eye vibes to Larry.

What is this page two malarky?
-
Did some banking, had an egg salad sandwich for my meal o' the day, and picked up no packages. Finished the two songs and will now do a show order and start the commentary.
-
I got so many compliments last night about my song Simply, which Kay does beautifully. But there were an equal number of folks who had no idea I wrote it. Sharon McNight called me just now and it was her favorite song in the show and asked who wrote it. Then she remembered she voted for it for the Mac Awards, which it won. Funny.
-
Thank you, Fred and JRand.
-
Full day at work.
-
We did finish our interviews and decided which candidate to offer the job to.
-
It turned out to be the woman we had liked from the beginning from her resume.
-
I hope she can adjust to our dysfunctional little group.

Finished some of the leftover green chili apple cobbler. Really good stuff. Maybe even better today.

Here's the easy recipe in case anyone is interested.
Green Chile Apple Cobbler.
Apple Filling:
4-5 Apples, such as Granny Smith, Fiji or Gala, peeled, cored and sliced
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup roasted peeled and chopped Anaheim or Hatch green chiles (canned may be used, drained)
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/4 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon allspice
Topping:
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups flour
Grated zests of 2 lemons
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 tablespoons heavy cream
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Apple Filling:
Combine the apples, brown sugar, chiles, vinegars, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and allspice in a bowl and mix well. Spoon into a greased 9-by-9-inch baking dish.
Topping:
Combine the sugar, flour, zest, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl and mix well. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in the cream Spread over the apple mixture and press firmly. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
From "A Taste of the Missions"
Notes: I cut the apples back. The recipe called for 5-6, but the five I did were enough for the baking dish and the gluten-free version.
I used only apple cider vinegar.
I might add chopped pecans to the topping the next time I make it.
I think it would actually work with pecans and possibly raisins instead of the green chiles.(Think of Apfel Strudel.)

So I was popping Sambocol and using Zicam spray
-
It helped quite a bit and I made it through the day
-
I brought chicken noodle soup for lunch and that seemed to help as well
-
Found out today at lunch that the son of the other attorney in my office works at the same restaurant as the Vixter
-
Despite not feeling well I had defrosted chicken breasts that had to be cooked
-
I sautéed some sliced mushrooms with a little garlic, added sliced grape tomatoes.,and some lovely thin asparagus. Added a little white wine and let very thing get nice and soft, then moved them to the side of the skillet and added the chicken to the skillet browned it nicely then added little more white wine and let it simmer
-
Served with a little brown rice and it was delish

Is this spicy? I never heard of chills in apple cobbler before

I just read a few of the reviews of "Harry Potter ..." and I just want to make a detour to New York to see the show. Sounds wonderful.
-
Of course I never heard of onions and apples with brown sugar before you introduced me to that delicacy and now it's one of my favorite sides with pork or chicken

That was a gift from the Little House on the Prairie books. And it's one of my favorites, too.

Today’s episode of “What’s Freaking Ginny Out”: When Richard and I visited Nashville 2 years ago we stayed in a Holiday Inn Express across the street from THE Waffle House and went there for dinner the night before we left.

Yeah. I'd be freaking out, too.
And thanks for the wishes.

I am 75% through Where'd You Go, Bernadette?
It's only OK, but the book is holding my attention because of a great reading by Kathleen Wilhoite, whom, if I recall correctly, is a close personal friend of BK.

-
Very unseemly.
-
Did a set of liner notes for one of the two show releases, and will start the other tomorrow. Then did a show order (finally!). Now must take a break.
-
back to binging on A Place to Call Home. Finishing episode nine. Three more to go.

Hello, 1 guest!

What shows do you binge watch?
-
I also have the latest season of Brokenwood Mysteries here, but I don't have to return it until after I'm back from vacation.

Good night, Vixmom.

Sweet dreams of vacations in Florida.

Hello, everyone.
-
John G, excellent news! Some cysts can be aspirated. (They stick a needle in, then draw out fluid. The cyst then dissolves on its own.) Yours cannot be?
-
Perhaps it can't be reached.
-
Vixmom, I'm pleased that the Sambucol and Zicam have helped. Sambucol really is amazing. It's cleared up many, many beginning bugs for me. I hope tomorrow sees even more progress.
-

I can see where that would be quite disconcerting. Just too close for comfort. Vibes you feel better soon.
-
Vision vibes for Larry.
-
Busy day for me, as Mondays usually are.
I'm attempting to catch up. All those dental visits and I'm now behind in everything--apartment, car, taxes. Slowly trying to catch up.
-
What shows do you binge watch?
I try not to watch more than two episodes of anything in one evening, but I recently watched three of THE TUNNEL Season 2. A PLACE TO CALL HOME is the most bingeworthy of the shows I watch. It can be really difficult to turn off.
-
For many years now I've preferred to watch more than one episode of a show per week, which is one reason why I greatly prefer streaming or DVD over broadcast television. I don't think of that as binging. It's easier to keep all the characters and the plot straight, and I enjoy it more.
-
Good night.

I wonder what the road did to DR JANE to make her hit it?
;D

Home from ophthalmologist. My right eye is really bad. More eye drops.
Vibes the drops help!

Doctor’s verdict: it’s just a cyst. Need X-rays and another CAT scan in six months.
That is a relief. Might it go away within the next 6 months?
VIBES IT DOES!

Tonight we are staying in a little house in Fort Worden, Port Townsend. It is cool staying at an old fort where soldiers lived.

I am having problems with my tablet losing its charge and must stop using it or I won't be able to read.
Vibes and good health to everyone.

Where is everybody?
-
I crashed this evening when I came in the bedroom to watch TV.
-
I fell asleep during the news and woke up briefly during JEOPARDY.
-
I woke up sometime during BIG BANG THEORY.
-
I watched about two minutes of that and woke up for the news.
-
Actually, the end of the news.
-
Other than that, I had a nice lunch with my sister and BIL.
-
He is losing more and more weight.
-
He doesn’t look good at all.
-
That was about it for my day.
-
I did stop at the store. Excitement!
-
Wow, I wonder if I will be able to sleep tonight.
-
No George tonight??
-
No other news to report.
-
Tomorrow is housecleaning day.
-
In 90 minutes I will leave for my eye appointment. This is also supposed to be the day of the Rapture for all those evangelical morons, so I will be keeping an eye out for any Horsemen of the Apocalypse. If I see one, I'll turn around and come home.
Well, I'm not dead, yet.
;)

Today was a day. I got to work and had two meetings, and had to pay invoices pretty much all day since today was this month's cut-off, then I had rehearsal.
-
Jane, I received the keychains! Thank you so much!! :-*
