Francois, Prairie Lights is a book store

Oh, that I understood!

It was just a silly metaphore from me!

Btw, "prairie" is French which demands copyright!  8)

Will we ever get to page 11 of that book in Prairie Lights!

Was not "Prairie Lights" a song sung by Liza with a Z?!

It's finally Friday. Woo and Hoo!   I was going to go on a gangster pub crawl tonight celebrating Sioux City's gangster history, complete with Templeton Rye. http://www.templetonrye.com  It was Al Capone's favorite moonshine, but they make it legally  now.   They never really stopped making it.  One of their slogans is "It's legal now, but don't let that stop you"

I think I'm going to scout in furniture stores for dining room tables that I could use as a conference table this weekend.  I saw one at Pier One, but it was a little too rustic. So I'll keep looking. I have a feeling I can find something nice for a lot less than ordering a "real" office conference table.   My line of credit is coming through next week. It's not a home equity loan and the interest rate is over 1 percent lower than the young pup wanted to give me.  Ha!

I was reading the history on the site. It says after prohibition it continued to be manufactured illegally for a few select customers...I had some of the illegal stuff back in the 80s.  The person who got it said. Don't ask where or how but here it is.  It was pretty good stuff!

I really should head to Omaha and Go to Nebraska Furniture Mart, but I really don't feel like going down there. It's Warren Buffet's store

The libretto for The Light in the Piazza can now be purchased from Amazon here.

The Italian in the songs and dialogue is translated (in parenthesis).

I don't have a DVD player and I'm not listening to Artaxerxes, so I don't have any media to report, so here's conversation I had recently with a four-year-old named Avery who had recently thrown up into a trash can.

Avery: Look, Cassandra. I made this. It came from a part of my body.
Me: Was it your stomach?
Avery: How did you know?
Me: I've been around, Avery. I've been around.

Also, I was on TV yesterday. First, there was a close-up of my thumb (green, of course), and then there was the rest of me. I didn't see it, but Kayla says she did.

Not my favorite Hitchcock film.  Couldn't we have a vertigo or three?

Yankee Stadium is really a trip tonight.  Kate Smith is now singing "God Bless America."

Oh yeah, and the Mariners are ahead 15 to 8.
