Well, you've read the notes, the notes were long, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're telling THE STORY OF JERSEY AND THE COW.

And the word of the day is: NITID!
-
Welcome back home, BK!

So, here was our Unseemly Trivia Contest question:
It was one of the most extraordinary theatrical seasons ever – producing classic plays and musicals. In this season, no less than fourteen plays and musicals would eventually be turned into motion pictures. And, one play was actually adapted from a novel which had, just a couple of years earlier, been turned into a hugely popular film, a film that was ultimately remade two times. One of the remakes had a different title than the original film, and the other retained the title of the original film. However, the title of the original novel was completely different to all the film versions, while the title of the play was completely different than all of the above. Two other plays had incidental music by famous theater music composers. Of the musicals, only one musical’s star would go on to repeat their performance in the film version. One play with two high-wattage stars would come to the screen with two completely different high-wattage stars.
So – the following questions all have to do with plays and musicals turned into films:
Name the fourteen plays that became films.
Name the play adapted from a novel that had, just a couple of years earlier, been turned into a hugely popular film. Name the original film, name the different title of one of its remakes, and name the novel’s title.
Name the two plays that had incidental music by two famous theater music composers and name the composers.
Name the musical and the star who was the only one that season to repeat their role in the film version.
Name the play with two high-wattage stars and name the two high-wattage stars who eventually did the film version.
And I'm happy to say this question stumped everyone - in fact, we only had one guess and it was from someone who never guesses - der Brucer - it was a noble guess, but not all the answers fit. And now, here are the answers you've all been waiting for:
West Side Story, Look Back In Anger, Miss Lonelyhearts, Romanoff and Juliet, Compulsion, The Dark At The Top Of The Stairs, The Music Man, Two For The Seesaw, Sunrise At Campobello, The Entertainer, Blue Denim, Who Was That Lady I Saw You With, The Waltz Of The Toreadors, The Visit.
Monique/Diabolique/Reflections Of Murder/The Woman Who Was No More
Miss Lonelyhearts (Jule Styne), Compulsion (Cy Coleman)
The Music Man/Robert Preston
Two For The Seesaw/Henry Fonda and Anne Bancroft/Robert Mitchum and Shirley MacLaine.
And there you have it. So happy to have stumped everyone, for once.
-
And a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to LC, whomever that is.
-
And now to bed.

What the ..?
bk must still be on NYC time -- I log in to Aug. 9, go away a few seconds and return only to find he's locked the door on me at 10:45 pm and the notes say Aug. 10 -- in NYC maybe but not here in AZ -- there are still a lot of good minutes left to Aug. 9th ... Har-rump!
-
Name 14 plays?? FOURTEEN?? :o Yikes!
-
bk ~ I was cracking up over your story about the baby (especially visualizing your reactions to said baby and said baby's mother) ..
-
Name 14 plays?? FOURTEEN?? :o Yikes!
Really! I'll pass and leave it to DR FJL (he loves this kind of stuff)
-
Night, Jorge. Time for some shut-eye...
-
Good night, Miss K. 8)
-
Oh, before I leave....
Cason will be playing the lawyer part in Bukowsical Tues., Aug 14, at 10 pm and Sat., Aug. 18 at 3:30 pm at The Theatres on Bleecker Street, unless of course that Mr. Diva Ego Man Actor demands to play that role, too, and they let him...(grrrrrr -- Why do people put up with that? You show enough divas the door and you'd nip that problem in the bud... Nip it, nip it in the bud ~ Barney Fife reference)
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm probably going back to bed in a bit.
In any case... The rain has started back up here in NYC, and I've noticed that the flood watch has been extended through Friday afternoon. Sounds like a good day to stay inside and go through boxes-o-stuff. ;)
-
And, once again, Goodnight.

TOTD.
CD: Rhino's most bizarre collection: "White Men Can't Wrap"
Tracks include "songs" by Jack Webb, Lorne Green, Lenny Bruce, Sebastion Cabot and Phil Harris.
This really belongs in Rodzinski's collection. Why is it in mine?
-
Goodnight DR Jose.
-
Good Morning. It is raining but it's not like the rain from Wednesday. Don't know if it will get worse. Time will tell.
-
Good Morning Tom.

The Bowl, The Bowl, The Bowl
-
Hello Ben.
-
"Bowling brings out the swinger in you" - that was the slogan back in the fifties or sixties.here
-
I love bowling. I worked at a bowling facility in the Minneapolis Athletic Club for a year as an assistant to an irascible old coot. I don't think he liked me much but I did the morning shift (coming in at 6am and oiling the lanes and cleaning up from the night before) so he didn't say much. His mantra was "these are not alleys, they are lanes" If you called the place a bowling alley you risked a nasty tirade. I was glad to leave the place when I went to University.
That being said, I haven't bowled in years, though I still have my bowling ball and bag. I need new bowling shoes, though.
-
Morning, TCB. I assume you're catching up.
-
And now I must leave for Mr. Kellogg
-
Good morning, Ben. I guess I just missed the Oz-meister!

Welcome back to the Left Coast, bk.

Good morning TCB.

And goodnight.

Hello DR Cillaliz.

Goodnight Tom

Good morning, Cillaliz.

I have a beautiful purple Columbia bowling ball and shoes that go with it (white tennis shoe style bowling shoes with purple accents). I was in a league when I was living in Spirit Lake. I wasn't very good, but we did handicaps, so it worked out pretty well. I got "Most Improved" one year. And my team won the league one year so I actually have a trophy. Woo Hoo
-
Good morning DR TCB!
-
TOD- I think I still have The Essential Paul Simon, disc 2 in my car. I've been listening to XM radio at work and I've been rotating between The Brain from Planet X, The Last Starfighter and Legally Blonde in the kitchen
-
Actually, now that I think about it, I think my bowling ball is a little marred up from a bad ball return. I should drag it out and get it polished
-
Leading lady said yes. (Another from the BK stable.) I am literally shedding tears of joy. Now I'm going to go into the bedroom to literally shed tears on Joy.
-
Time to get ready for work. Laters...
-
bk mentioned that great character actress Audrey Totter. Didn't Ms. Totter also have a daughter who went into show business AND married an award winning composer slash conductor? ;) Just asking. . . .
-
I'm listening to Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2 right now.
-
Good morning HHW.
-
We had a wonderful day of casting calls yesterday. I was so pleased to see so many talented singers come into the room. And I admire them so much. Some of them had to sit outside for hours waiting for their turn to come in and have their short moment. It isn't easy - that's for sure. Yet they somehow all managed to make it look easy.
We have another day of casting calls on Sunday, and then after that, we should be able to start making some offers.
-
Cason will be playing the lawyer part in Bukowsical Tues., Aug 14, at 10 pm and Sat., Aug. 18 at 3:30 pm at The Theatres on Bleecker Street
Thanks for the info, Miss Karen.

The Fringe Festival starts today. I haven't looked over the offerings yet. :o I'm so behind the times! :o
I want to pick out a couple things for this weekend.
-
Good morning Noel and Ben. We're the only ones in the room.
-
Only a light rain outside right now.
-
I'm in and out.
-
Quick fringe picks:
And Somewhere Men are Laughing
Show Choir
The Winter's Tale Project
The last two are musicals
-
Off to run the new song & scene by my Such Good Friends director, who lives very near The Triad. I'll then be locked in The Triad from noon to nearly nine, as the first of three overpopulated cabarets is tonight at 7. The other two are Monday and Wednesday
-
I'm in and out.
Are you KEVIN KLINE? :o
-
Last night I watched the dvd of Charles Laughton in LES MISERABLES.
On iTunes, I listened to a bunch of various artists(John DePalma, Debbie Reynolds, Myoshi Umeki, kd lang, Julie Andrews, Jason Graae et al).
Tonight, I shall probably go see STARDUST.
-
Friday morning greetings! It's casual day here at the library in celebration of National Apple Week. My favorite part about casual day is being allowed to wear my tennis shoes.
TOD - CD(car) - audiobook A New Song, by Jan Karon, which I should finish on my way home tonight. Then I get to start - drumroll - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, read by the incomparable Jim Dale!

Good morning, everyone.

DVD: LOVE ABOVE THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
THE PAINTED VEIL
CD: UNSUNG MUSICALS
GUY HAINES

Quick fringe picks:

Thanks, Noel!

Leading lady said yes. (Another from the BK stable.)...
Congratulations, DR Noel! It will be so much fun to see someone who (from the sound of it) I've been listening to for years on BK's recordings.
-
In other NYMF news, I just reserved our final remaining pair of tickets for our friends Doug & Jon to join us for The Brain from Planet X on Sept. 30. They always graciously entertain us at their home near Lincoln Center and I'm looking forward to reciprocating their hospitality this way.
-
Cilla - you're rotating between the CD's of The Brain from Planet X, The Last Starfighter and Legally Blonde in the kitchen? - I'm shedding tears of joy about being in that group, really!
(And obviously Skip and I have BK and Kritzerland to thank for Last Starfighter being in that mix)
-
A question for NYMF members: I have ordered my "free" tickets. Now I want to order tickets for Noel's show. Can I buy additional tickets or do I have to wait until Sept.?
The web site is not working well for me today...

Hi, Dakota---how's your Dad doing?
-
Good morning!
We hit an all-time record high yesterday of 104 in Charlotte. Today it's supposed to be 100, and then it's supposed to cool into the lower 90s. Still, it's beyond miserable here.
I hate summer.
-
Yes, BK, I was around and very aware when MARNIE got its critical lambasting in the 1960s. I've never liked it, and it subbornly refuses to grow on me after years of trying to enjoy it. Obviously, many critics have come to appreciate it over the years.
TORN CURTAIN, however, was panned then and is still disliked by many. It's wildly underrated in my opinion. I've even read respected critics who rate TOPAZ ahead of TORN CURTAIN which I don't understand at all.
-
I hate summer.
We have the same-103 yesterday. I feel your pain!
-
I liked Marnie when I saw it as a kid...haven't seen it since but I remember that it was the first "grown-up" film my parents let me watch (at the drive-in.)
-
Friday Media Check:
CD - LOVELY TO LOOK AT (soundtrack)
DVD - TORN CURTAIN (to conclusion)
HOUSE OF GAMES (Criterion)
THE MILKY WAY (Criterion)
HOT FUZZ (which should arrive today)
DVR - last night's BURN NOTICE
-
Tonight for me are new episodes of MONK and PSYCH.
For those more attuned to science fiction, a new version of FLASH GORDON is premiering on Sci-Fi tonight (at 9 p.m., I believe). It has not gotten very good reviews, but that doesn't mean anything (note my comments on TORN CURTAIN above).
-
Does anyone here have access to Julie Andrews' LP of DON'T GO IN THE LION'S CAGE TONIGHT that could make a audio cassette or CD for me? I have never heard this entire album, and the two "Buy It Now" offerings on Ebay would cost $25 with postage added which I think is extreme.
I don't know how I passed it up when I was a member of the Columbia Record Club back in the 1960s. I remember it coming out, but I bought something else, and have never heard the whole thing, just the few songs from it that are on the Julie CD compilation A LITTLE BIT OF BROADWAY.
Just curious if anyone has access to it. Thanks.
-
Good morning, all! Yesterday was a real depression day and I hope today is a much better one. This is proof, DR Danise, that it doesn't get easier, six months after the death. I had received an email from Susanna Moross Tarjan asking how my dad was doing. This meant that I had forgotten to notify her at the time so, after writing back, I spent the remainder of the afternoon in a state and went to bed around 8:30. I got up this morning around 10 am, and I'm feeling much better.
DR MattH, I can make you a copy of the Julie Andrews album; I believe it's my favorite of hers, although I always loved her early RCA recording on which she sang Noel Coward's moving "Matelot.". When I was doing WHERE'S CHARLEY? in 2004, Tony Walkton and I talked about it a lot. It was one of the recordings I bought around 1966 or so and played to death. I couldn't wait for a CD release.
Today, back to the NYPL, tomorrow night, "Bukowsiical," for which I bought tickets while we tjhught DR Cason was playing the role. I have to buy an Amtrak ticket to DC today as well.
TOD:
DVD: UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS, final disc; HOT FUZZ (Region 1 or Region 2?);
CD: Guy Haines, The Brain from Planet X, LA Pique Dame (Tchaikovsky)
VCR: cheep cheep cheep!!!

I, too, liked TORN CURTAIN very much. It's one of my favorite Hitchcock films.

Well, even if you don't get to see me on stage right now (we'll save it for the Brain!), we'll still get to see one another, right?

Hugs and vibes to DR Elmore. At least you have lots of folks here who love you!

If anybody can direct me to any spoilers for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (i.e., who made it through to the top 4) can you please post the link.
The results/elimination show was taped last night. But i think they taped all possible endings. So the audience would not know who was gone.
-
Does anyone watch the show FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS? One of my CLOSER producers introduced me to that yesterday and I found it on HBO's "On Demand" on Comcast. It's just the right combination of elements that I find very funny, and I haven't found much that makes me laugh lately.
(That sounds more depressing than it really was meant to be...)

I sampled one episode, but I just didn't warm to it and haven't checked it out further. Might not be a bad idea to give it another shot.

Friday!!!
About 2/3rd's of a house last night. Much cooler....both air coolers are now working.
Show went well....lots of NEW acting by a couple of people who must have been saving it for the show...didn't hear those readings or singing during the rehearsals...not that any of it was an improvement.
And you will be glad to hear that El Gallo did not come and stand beside me on the steps during my BIG speech. No, he decided to walk across the front of the stage while I was talking, blocking me from the audience.
Ass! I told him afterwards to PLEASE not do that! "Oh, I was just trying to get out of your way....."
MURDER AT THE PLAYHOUSE.....I can see the Banner Graphic headline now.
JURY FINDS JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE!
-
I have been watching MAD MEN on Comcast On Demand. I like the show and the actors - and the settings/costumes very much.

Thanks to one and all for the Opening Night vibes. They were much appreciated and USED!!

Well, even if you don't get to see me on stage right now (we'll save it for the Brain!), we'll still get to see one another, right?
But, of course! I'm taking Matthew, my best friend from college, for his birthday tomorrow night. We're going out for a snack after. Would you like to come along?

I would love to...
Oh you weren't talking to me. ::)
-
I think I liked it because I worked in music video for years, and there's so much of that element in it. I think the lyrics to the songs are funny and the way it's directed and the way the shots are composed makes me laugh.
Then again, I liked COP ROCK!

Hugs and vibes to DR Elmore. At least you have lots of folks here who love you!
And I feel the same about all most of you! Unfortnately, that offers no antidote to depression or grief or other awful emotions to which we may be prone.

I'm up, I'm up. Went into the bedroom at ten-fifty, head hit pillow, BK asleep. So, I got over nine hours of needed sleep, and if I can do that one more time, I'll be fine and dandy for the upcoming week.

Edisuarus your mailbox is full

I believe that only NYMF "Platimum" members are able to buy extra tix before 9/1
I joined NYMF last night and orderd my tix for the 9/29 1 pm show of Starfighter and the 4:30 9/30 show of Such Good Friends
I had incorrectly believed that I had to join NYMF before 8/1 to buy tix during the member only period and didn't have the cash last pay period
I was so excited to see I could join last night and still get the tix!!
The Lovely and Generous DR GINNY very kindly used 2 of her preview slots to get tix for the Vixter and I to see the final 'Brain" on 8/30
I think Edisuarus and her DH and DR Ginny & her DH Richard will also be at the performance....any other DR's palnning on attending the final "Brain"?

Hi, DR Vixmom!
DH Richard and I will be at The Brain on Sept. 30 and will do our double-feature of Such Good Friends and The Last Starfighter on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 4:30 and 9pm, respectively.
-
I'm off to NYPL. I have no idea what the weather will be like or whatr the outside temperature may be, but I'm carrying my umbrella and hoping for the best.
BK, sack the actress and go for the second. This delay and constant debate is both annoying and rude. To us as well as to you. I honestly don't think she's enough of a name to bother with all of this.
-
I second DR ELMORE's comment about the actress.
SHE IS OBVIOUSLY STALLING BECAUSE SHE THINKS SHE MAY GET SOMETHING ELSE....I hope she loses BOTH jobs.

DITTO! Like I said before, start showing these divas the door and maybe it'll cut down on the diva population -- one species I'd like to see go extinct -- such rude and selfish behavior!
-
Besides, even if she says yes now, she's created bad buzz for herself (at least to me -- I'll be thinking "Boo to you, lady for causing our bk needless headaches")

...or maybe her husband got stranded in one of the flooded subway tunnels the other day and hasn't gotten home yet so she hasn't been able to ask "Daddy" permission to drive her car into NYC and park it ...
(good lordy, that excuse is "Stupid. stupid, stupid!!" --- Zubrick reference)
-
DR GINNY that video link was very funny!!!
Is the "Singin' In the Rain" libretto online anywhere, so's a body kin read it?
-
Oh my gosh, I feel sick over an envelope that i am praying will arrive at its destination. I sent a very urgent envelope that is guaranteed to arrive before 3pm ET. But of course that never means anything.
I hate counting on a courier service!
-
Speaking of divas, it wasn't Mr. Won't Go to My Sister's Wedding Ego Man Actor -- it's one of the other guys yanking everybody's chain with his I've got a concert and I've got a meeting with an ad agency so I can't make the Bukowsical rehearsal and promo stuff like I agreed to...(this is all my grumblings -- Cason is being very mature and positive about it all, so I'm very proud of him)
Hey! Maybe the Diva gods will see that Mr. Diva Man Actor gets a big commercial pronto so he'll drop Bukowsical and then Cason ... oh, never mind, the Divas always win -- Mr. Diva Man Actor will get to do Bukowsical AND get the big commercial...
-
Ah, got it out of my system and can step off the soap box -- sorry about the rant about divas...just a pet peeve of mine cause you even get them in community theatre...

Probably a commercial for Depends or a Bladder Control pill...

Besides, even if she says yes now, she's created bad buzz for herself (at least to me -- I'll be thinking "Boo to you, lady for causing our bk needless headaches")
My thoughts exactly. This show deserves better than all this waffling and lame excuses! I supposed the dog ate her music folio, too?
-
DR Miss Karen, there are even diva librarians!
Yes, DR Ginny -- divas are every where! :(
-
I supposed the dog ate her music folio, too?
:)
-
Good afternoon.
Rain rain go away.
-
Yikes, the time! Gotta scram!
-
JRand, congrats on your opening night success, and on letting the stage hog know to keep out of your moment.
DR elmore - wishes for a better day today.
-
Catch you all later. Gotta run for now.
-
Yes, DR Ginny -- divas are every where! :(
I certainly know diva editors who protect "their cut" like it was the holy grail. Yes, I like doing my cut first, but if there are changes, I make them and move on. Especially with something as disposable as promos/commercials. I just try find a way to give them what they want (so many times they don't know how to articulate what's bothering them and I have to decipher.) With enough digging, sometimes what they think was wrong wasn't the problem at all and then I can figure out how to solve it.
On a long form piece if I feel the producer/director is making a midguided judgement I will defend my decision---once. Then if they decide to go with their idea, I don't sulk and pout about it. (although in my head I'm saying "You are stupid, stupid, stupid!") It's disheartening to work with a director who makes decisions based on their own ego to the detriment of the film, but fortunately I don't have to work with that person more than once.
I enjoy the occasions when I'm proved wrong, because then I feel like I've learned something!
And I have to say that I am blessed to work with lots of wonderful collaborators at this point in time and rarely have any drama in the editing room.
-
And now I'm free to begin my weekend (of packing up more useless crap!)
-
Boy, for a day off, I've sure been boxing up some orders, and have to ship them now. THEN it will be a day off.
Re, the actress - I'm just venting here, and if it all works out I'll be very pleased, because she'll be good for the role and whatever name value she has will be good for the show. And I honestly don't know how much of this is the agent's doing - knowing agents as I do, I'd probably lay two-thirds of the blame right there. For example, if everything was finally agreed to yesterday, why can't we get a simple returned phone call acknowledging that fact - that's all we're waiting for - nothing to do with the actress at all, just a "yes, we're a go" from her agent. As far as I know we STILL haven't had that call, but the casting guy is in session until six, and my general manager is in meetings until two (both NY time) - so, I'll be able to have a conversation with the GM after eleven my time and we'll see where we're at. They both know that this isn't going into the weekend - that an offer will go out to the next gal this evening. I'm sure they'll both TRY to convince me to be patient until Monday, but my patience with this agent is at an end.
-
And, I may switch my Freecell game over to Tournament Level - just because I can!
Tournament Level? I've never heard of this. I'll have to look at it when I get home.

Tonght, I'm going to see Camelot, put on by Kids At Play (the children's summer theater program of Jeff Kingsbury's Capital Playhouse). In 1991, I was in a local community theater production and I really didn't know the show before I was in it. I had a great time and met some people who are still very dear friends of mine to this day, but...it's the only show that I've performed in that I didn't really like after doing it. :P The show just didn't do anything for me, so we'll see how I feel about it now.
-
Oh, so there are diva agents, too?
-
Good Afternoon!
Well, it's still raining, drizzling, etc., here in NYC. -And I think I'm finally waking up too. In any case... At least today's rain has kept the temps in the low 60s! -Why don't you come up to NYC, DR MattH! ;)
-
Of course i just called the courier and there was a mechanical problem and the plane did not go out. So said item that was guaranteed for today will not arrive.
I am really stressing since this was beyond urgent. :(

The Bowl, The Bowl, The Bowl
Does anyone...still wash...a bowl?

Oh, so there are diva agents, too?
Where can I sign up for "Diva Retiree'?

Well, I think it's ridiculous because it's been dragging on for four needless days now, and I honestly don't think her name will do anything for the show. Do we have a Fred yet? Is all the remainder of the cast now in place?
-
I would love to know who all of the potential actresses and actors are. I know that info can't be posted, but still... ::)
-
And since we're so close...

PAGE SIX DANCE!!

In my CD-ROM drive, here at work: Wall-To-Wall Stephen Sondheim (shh...don't tell anyone! It's the entire concert ;))

A question for NYMF members: I have ordered my "free" tickets. Now I want to order tickets for Noel's show. Can I buy additional tickets or do I have to wait until Sept.?
The web site is not working well for me today...
Edi - there is a ticket phone number, I'd call and see what they say. It's on the page somewhere.
-
Can you make an offer to an actor with a deadline in it? So that they must decide within, say, 3 days or the offer no longer stands? That would only seem fair.
-
I believe that only NYMF "Platimum" members are able to buy extra tix before 9/1
I joined NYMF last night and orderd my tix for the 9/29 1 pm show of Starfighter and the 4:30 9/30 show of Such Good Friends
Samantha and I will be there
-
I'll be at the final BRAIN, and when I can order tickets, I'll be at the 4:30 SGF, too. Fun!
I have to see what Sam wants to do...I was thinking about going to the SGF 4:30 performance. I'll talk to her when I see her next week

DR Miss Karen, there are even diva librarians!
Marian the Diva Librarian....
-
Yes, BK, I was around and very aware when MARNIE got its critical lambasting in the 1960s.
Well, I adore MARNIE. I always have.
I agree that TORN CURTAIN is supremely under-appreciated.
I have yet to make it through TOPAZ.

Re deadlines: We did that on Wednesday - gave the agent until noon. She called us immediately and asked if they could have till five. We said okay. She called back and said this conversation had to take place between hubby and wife, and that it would that evening. The next morning we had the call from the agent with the final details, and I, upon my arrival in LA, agreed to them. And since then we have probably left eight messages for the agent, just asking for a simple confirmation - we agreed to the final details and it should be a done deal and probably is, but until I get that final confirmation, then for me it's nothing. Unfortunately, my casting guy is in sessions all day, so he can't leave another "you have until five" message, which is what I want to do. I may ask my GM to do it right now.

Hmm...
So... I have a $25 discount voucher on United from when my luggage was "delayed" back in March... However, I can only redeem the voucher via a travel agent or their phone reservation system... Which would not let me take advantage of the Online Booking Bonus... But after checking the fares online, i realized that the one-way fares are just the same as the round-trip fares - the flights are priced in segments, not as a "package" (like the used to do, if that makes sense). So...
I called United to see if I could book my next trip as two, one-way flights/tickets. This way I could apply the discount voucher to one segment, and book the other segment online and get the frequent flyer bonus. And, lo and behold, that's totally kosher.
And since I was thinking of heading down to Richmond next week - my aunt from Seattle is visiting, and I haven't seen her in almost 20(!) years - I checked out the flights for that trip too. Surprisingly, even though I'm booking less than two weeks in advance, I was able to find fares under $175 - which is cheaper than Amtrak. And if I decide to book it as two, one-way segments and get two Online Booking Bonuses, then I'll have enough points for a free ticket! :)
-
It's a lazy afternoon...
-
Way to go, DR Jose, with the airline bookings!
-
Way to go, DR Jose, with the airline bookings!
Thanks, DR Ginny. Although, I guess I should be thanking the airlines. Who'd of thunk? ;)
-
It was every bit as hot and still as I was dreading when I went out on my errands. And wouldn't you know that after several weeks of being able to park close to the entrance to the grocery store because the parking lot was surprisingly empty, today I had to park a LONG distance away and walk. The heat was withering.
-
I began my afternoon finishing the marvelous TORN CURTAIN that I had begun last night. Always find the ending so satisfying after so much tension in the last half hour of the picture.
-
Next came David Mamet's HOUSE OF GAMES which I had never seen before. About con artists and con games (at least on the surface), I saw the cons way in advance and figured I was smarter than the filmmakers. Then Mamet pulled a fast one and brought me up short. Good film!
-
Next, I began watching the special features on the DVD. There are separate 14 minute interviews with Lindsay Crouse and Joe Montegna. I had forgotten that Crouse was at one time married to David Mamet. What a gift for him to present her with: a terrific leading role in a great script being directed by him.
And, of course, Montegna's professional involvement with Mamet goes way back, so hearing their comments on making the picture were very entertaining.
-
I also started listening to the audio commentary on the film by Mamet and con expert/actor Ricky Jay. Good back and forth quipping and reminiscing by the two of them.
-
I have one more special feature on the disc to watch, a brief documentary that was made while the film was in production in 1987, and then I'll be done with the disc.
Tonight, I'll be able to watch BURN NOTICE from last night and maybe even something else before MONK begins at 9.
-
Well, I need to do some stretching, and then head out for a bit.
Laters...

The actress is not happening. We finally heard back from her agent, who said the problem was that the actress thought that the Equity stipend was WEEKLY. Now, this is a person who DID a NYMF show last year. To say that I went ballistic over all this wasted time is an understatement. And if we've lost my followup actress because she booked another show in these last two days, well, my wrath will know no bounds. I'm tempted to call the actress personally. Certainly the two mutual friends are going to get an earful today.
-
On top of that, my design team is freaking out because of all the stuff the show requires. Again, they've had the script for three bloody weeks and a video of the show for a week and a half. I'm happy to simplify everything, but I need to know how that's going to look and they're just freaking out without even telling me HOW they want to simplify. I'm not doing this show with no set and props and costumes - that much I know.

I won't let it go on either....they've got my $5000....well actually they've got my $50.....but you know what I mean.

The director of THE SUNSHINE BOYS is looking to "boost" the actress playing the nurse in the sketch portion of the show. Different things have been tried.
Today I went to Goodwill to look at the books, and hanging on a hanger in the book section was this....I don't know what to call it.....like a tank top with spaghetti straps and built in H U G E bosoms......so I took it up to the counter and bought it for $3.99....

BK-your plane trip sounded like"what do we do?we FLy from Do I HEAR A WALTZ? Hey JA fans, Lion's Cage is also my favorite Andrews Album; I think I've got everything of hers, including the Country /western one, except for the Japanese concert on Vinyl. It popped up on footlights once, unfortunately when my cards were maxed out. I live in hope; Car CD has smithsonian BWAY anthology, bedside boom box has CURTAINS, and DVD has HOT FUZZ, which would have been on my top 10 list, but the bronchitis kept me down.

I think this actress's behavior has been abominable.
-
Now, I have some writing to do, and then that awful job of jobs - mopping the kitchen floor.
WBBL.
-
In retrospect, it has been abominable, both she and her agent. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt because we'd had such a nice conversation. And the funniest thing her agent said just a few moments ago was, "She's going to pass." I believe my GM laughed out loud and said it was not she who was passing but US. In fact, the casting guy formally pulled the offer, and has now sent an offer to our next actress, who hopefully will like the show and want to do it. But, I'll be talking to the casting guy at three-thirty my time, and we're going to make a list of five actresses. I don't think we've heard from the actor who has an offer, but hopefully soon.
And now I'll tell you who the actress was - and I want to preface it by saying I really do think she would have done well in the part, but two days ago the whole idea of it began to annoy me (all the waffling) and I'm now glad it hasn't worked out, because I feel there would have been even more drama ahead. And when I tell you who it is, you'll know immediately how stupid a decision this was on her part - she should have leapt at the chance to a) do a wonderful part, and b) work with me, who, after all, has worked in the recording industry for seventeen years and has worked with the best there is.
Her name is Andrea McArdle, and creating this kind of bad energy is maybe why she's never been able to create another role outside of tiny little workshops.

BK, ask Michael if he knows Michelle Dawson, who might be a possible Joyce. She was the second Cinderella after Christianne Tisdale for the NY State Theatre Institute and she'd be about the right age now. I see her occasionally at the NYPL and she's quite pretty with a wnderful voice.

Spoo! Michelle may be out on tour as Milly in "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers."
I see she was doing Rizzo in GREASE for Pitsburgh Civic Light Opera, but I don't know if that's this summer.

Thanks, DR Ginny. Although, I guess I should be thanking the airlines. Who'd of thunk? ;)
It's amazing what deals you can find if you get creative. I've used points/voluntary bumps etc for both air fare and hotel rooms and I take the time to explore it every trip I take. It's how jhvw got a free plane ticket last year and Sam and I are going to have a free hotel while in NYC this year. Of course, sometimes it takes literally all day - like when I FINALLY got the weather waiver last March to go a day early to beat what was a huge blizzard here

Thanks.
If no one else has offered I will be very happy to help you out.

Ah, got it out of my system and can step off the soap box -- sorry about the rant about divas...just a pet peeve of mine cause you even get them in community theatre...
Divas in community theater? That could easily be the title of my next book.

Drama with the design team is partially over, so that's good. I honestly don't know what goes on with people, although in their defense I'll say that a) they're very young, and b) they've been working with a set designer who gets what he wants in terms of his sets. We're, of course, doing a NYMF show.

I have an early meeting on Tuesday at LACC to see what props and costumes and wigs I can borrow. The answer to that question will help alleviate some of the stress. Part of the problem is that for the last couple of years, the producers on NYMF shows have so been bending and subverting the rules that the bar keeps being raised in terms of the production values. That's not what this festival is supposed to be about, and Equity actually forbids it being about that, but they do it anyway. There is one show in this year's festival, and I'd guess that they're spending between 50 and 100K, most of it entirely under the table, which is not fair to any of the other shows. I've had to raise a considerable amount of money, most of which we have no hope of getting back, and even having done that, everything is so tight it's not even funny.
We are finding some backup designers just in case I don't think what I'm shown over the weekend is going to work.

Thankfully my courier story has a happy ending. Although no thanks to them.
I had sent an envelope yesterday with Purolator via canada post. It was guaranteed next day delivery by noon. Now when i placed the order i said the envelope absolutey had to get there by noon. And if their service was not reliable they should tell me and i would send it some other way.
Well of course they said it was guaranteed.
Anyhow early this morning i called canada post and the guy on the phone said that there were no followup details. Meaning other the system was not updated. Or something was wrong.
Well something didn't sit right with me. So i called purolator directly. And their computer said that the plane had had some problems and had to emergency land somewhere else. And that until the envelope was entered into the system there, there was nothing they could do.
Needless to say this did not make me happy. If you think BK gets annoyed at people. I really cannot put up with crap.
What made it worse was the agent said that when they have problems like this the parcel is always put on rush and would go out tomorrow (saturday).
This did not make me happy. But it could have worked.
They told me to call back later to see if it was updated.
Well since i did not believe they would deliver on saturday. And since they had no idea where the package was i decided to take matters into my own hands and send the item by another means.
So the person got it.
But (and here's the funny part). So i call back purolator at 4:30pm and i think they have located the package. And it will be delivered monday. I said, "first off that will do me no good". and "second i was told all mistakes were put on priority to go out saturday".
Apparently that is not entirely true (which really annoyed me).
I told them to put a note in the file to not deliver it and just send it back to me since time was crucial.
And guess what. The guy had the nerve to tell me that although i would get my money back for the shipment, i would have to pay to have it returned.
They must be joking, right? :)
Apparently that is their policy. Although there is no chance i will be paying for it. He said i could fight it. But really they are going to get an earful from me.

Now some people are saying it is lauren and pasha who are out. I actually think this is totally fair.
-
DR JENNIFER - I feel your courier pain....and all they say is "You get your money back....."
I hope you tell everyone you know WHAT company it was.
Yah it is pathetic that that is what they consider just.
I don't think it was really their fault.
But it certainly is their fault that they are telling people different things (i.e., one person tells me it will go out priority sat and another says only monday).
I have dealt with canada post before (not sure if i have to go through them). I think so since i paid them. But they are usually fair. One other time when a thing was guaranteed for a certain amount of days (and arrived late). They paid both for the original item and the replacement.
But this time i will probably add up extra fees incured (that seem reasonable). Just to see if they will pay them back.

From Bruce
Marnie was celebrated only in retrospect. On its release it was one of the most critically lambasted of all Hitchcock films and audiences hated every minute of it. In those days, I was literally one of its only supporters.
I liked it very much, still did last time I watched it.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work and get ready to see Camelot. I'm sure that it'll be a good production. Have a good evening, all!
-
Isn't this Friday night?

Jennifer-Good news regarding your on time arrival.
Bruce-Good vibes the actress accepts, & is far superior in the role to the one who took advantage of you.
-
Re deadlines: We did that on Wednesday - gave the agent until noon...
BK read my post!!
-
The director of THE SUNSHINE BOYS is looking to "boost" the actress playing the nurse in the sketch portion of the show. Different things have been tried.
Today I went to Goodwill to look at the books, and hanging on a hanger in the book section was this....I don't know what to call it.....like a tank top with spaghetti straps and built in H U G E bosoms......so I took it up to the counter and bought it for $3.99....
I should take you shopping with me, JRAND. I can never find anything I like. ;)
-
Bruce, I, too, had bad feelings about your first choice for Joyce. Not only is it unprofessional and inconsiderate, who wants a lead who isn't excited about doing the show? I think other problems with her would have followed. And I, for one, was never impressed with her. You can do better! And will!
So sorry you had to go through all that grief.
-
WHERE'S SINGDAW????
Yeah, yeah, I know he's on vacation in NJ, but WHERE IS HE?!
He'll have a LOT of posts to catch up on!
-
TD-Why are there so few locations which fly non-stop from Pittsburgh?
-
I could re-word that last sentence, but I'm too lazy to do it.
-
TD-Why are there so few locations which fly non-stop from Pittsburgh?
Because the smart people only want to fly to Pittsburgh to be with TD, and then they never want to leave.
-
Funny, except the shortage of non-stop flights works both ways.
Craig & Ioana arrived a few minutes early in Salt Lake City so I'm sure they had no problem catching their connection to Portland. They are now in the air & should arrive a few minutes early again.

Well, I still like my answer better.

Good Evening!
It's actually chilly tonight here in New York City. I had to don a sweat jacket (for some reason "sweat jacket" doesn't seem right, in any case...) in order to stay warm as I was walking around. It's even "cold" enough outside that the MTA has turned off the A/C in some of the subway cars. Of course, it's always warm underground, so... But, still... It's only 58 degrees in Central Park right now!
-
Well, I still like my answer better.
;D I do too.
-
Well, I still like my answer better.
So do I, DR TCB. So do I.

...Just watching "Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels". Tonight's she's covering L.A... So far, there are two places she mentioned that I have not had a meal at. -And that's because those two places weren't open when I was there for What If?
Maybe I should start a food blog. ;)
-
And since it is a bit on the "cool" side, I was in the mood for some Hot & Sour Soup, so I headed to the little Chinese carry-out place around the corner. And it appears they have some new management and some new cooks behind the counter. I actually saw them make my soup. And I have to say it's VERY good. Surprisingly so - with lots of tofu and mushrooms. I may have to try it again sometime to make sure tonight was not a fluke.
-
So...
Jarrod Emick at Sweeney? Hmm...
Well, that certainly wasn't his razor he was swinging high during Ring of Fire. ;D
-
DR Jennifer - Glad your delivery got delivered.
-
I am selling one of my Barry Bonds rookie cards to the highest bidder that I bought when I was in Jr. High School. I, for one, do not believe that Barry took steroids at any point in his career and believe he will be in the Hall of Fame someday. Attached is a copy of the card.
;D

Drama with the design team is partially over, so that's good. I honestly don't know what goes on with people, although in their defense I'll say that a) they're very young, and b) they've been working with a set designer who gets what he wants in terms of his sets. We're, of course, doing a NYMF show.
"Drama" is NYMF's middle name.
And, lo and behold, after saying that I was surprised that I did not receive any last minute phone calls from people looking for a musical director for their NYMF shows this year... I got two of them today.
-
As Joe Hardy in DAMN YANKEES, he certainly changed my opinion on how boxers look on young men.
-
Why, whatever do you mean, Jose?
[/i]
Well... Sometimes he swung to the left... and then to the right... and then to the left again... etc., etc., etc.
-
As Joe Hardy in DAMN YANKEES, he certainly changed my opinion on how boxers look on young men.
I happened to catch his first night as Chris in Miss Saigon on Broadway. And I could have sworn they kept the lights up a little longer as he was taking his shirt off. ::)

DR Jane - You're going to bed before Craig and Iona arrive? ;)
-
bk - I hope your next choice works out. Truly one of my favorite people I've ever had the pleasure to work with.
-
DR edisaurus - So... When you said, "Maybe the dog ate her music," all I could do was bite my tongue. ;)
-
And while I was in midtown earlier, I picked up a copy of this:

It's only 58 degrees in Central Park right now!
There was some sports thing on the TV where we went to dinner. Football, I think! The Falcons playing NY? Anyway, they must have been in NY---everyone had on sweatshirts. I am SO JEALOUS!

Or a business recommending eateries to NY visitors!
Seriously!
-
Bruce, I, too, had bad feelings about your first choice for Joyce.
I told my DH the whole story about Ms. McA at dinner, and he started singing "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll phone ya, tomorrow"...

Edi - Additional trivia bit: Rebecca Luker met Danny Burstein while they were both appearing in Skip's show Time and Again at the Old Globe in San Diego.
Awwww! They should have that as part of their trivia, with a picture of you (smiling!) and Skip.

I always think "Lurker" when I read her name. Too much time on the internet?

I think you scared her away.

We were talking to a friend today who is dealing with immigration issues and mentioned that we had a friend who had opened a practice specializing in immigration law. He was interested in meeting with DR Cillaliz until I told him she was in Iowa.
"What city?"
"Sioux City."
"Well, that sounds like a good place for a lawyer".
(Obviously his English is pretty good, to make a joke like that!)
-
I was hoping she would stop my frenzy but I'm glad you stepped up to the plate!
-
TOTD update.
Brook Benton - 16 top tracks. (Standards like Try a little Tenderness, A Nightingale Sang...., Call me irresponsible. Cold Cold Heart")
Another MUCH better alternative to Rod Stewart!
-
I Still associate Sioux City with Square Dance calls in the fifties!
I've never taken part in a Square Dance (Surprise) and hope never to do so!
-
I was hoping she would stop my frenzy but I'm glad you stepped up to the plate!
And then we were both interupted by Wolfman Tom with tonight's edition of MIDNIGHT SPECIAL.
-
If no one else has offered I will be very happy to help you out.
Thank you, DR Michael. DR Elmore has graciously helped me out with this, but I do appreciate the offer. Thanks!
-
I began my evening by finishing up the special features on the HOUSE OF GAMES DVD. This was a video documentary made in 1987 as David mamet was making the film, and we get to see bits of the table read, several rehearsal sessions with the two leads, moments in the filming, and all of this being really good and rare backstage stuff that rarely makes "maing of" featurettes.
-

YES!!!

Next, I watched last night's BURN NOTICE, another really grand episode. I love the ebb and flow of the action with Michael sometimes riding high aonly to have the rug pulled out from under him and then he manages to rise to the top again. There's great pace and drive to the plotting of these episodes.
-
Next, I put in the Sherlock Holmes movie THE HOUSE OF FEAR, my all-time favorite of the 14 Holmes-Rathbone pictures. I only got about 35 minutes in, so I'll finish it tomorrow.

Huh? I've square danced, but I never heard about Sioux City associated with it. Of course there is Sioux City Sue, a song I have to confess I've never heard, lol
-
MONK had a pretty good episode going until a ridiculous chase across a bumper car track that no one would have attempted while trying to chase a crook.
We saw the murder in the first scene, so again not a traditional mystery, but there were a couple of surprising curve balls thrown into the plot and one very tender and well played scene with Monk and Julie.

Do we think that one of them might be... let me think... real hard... NOEL? ;D
-
I enjoyed PSYCH, too, as a childhood nemesis showed up to ask Gus and Shawn for help. Good mystery tonight and very funny.
-
Hopefully, HOT FUZZ will come tomorrow so I can watch it tomorrow night or Sunday afternoon.
I also have THE MILKY WAY from Criterion to watch at some point tomorrow.
-
That was the song used as a Square Dance tune DR Cillaliz.

That was the song used as a Square Dance tune DR Cillaliz.
AH!! Ok, that makes sense.

The song was probably best known as sung by Bing Crosby in the mid 40's.

Good heavens, pretty racy lyrics if you ask me
Sioux City Sue
ASCAP 1945
Lyrics by Ray Freedman (aka Max)
Music by Dick Thomas
I drove a herd of cattle down from old Nebraska way
That's how I come to be in the state of Iowa
I met a gal in Iowa, her eyes were big and blue
I asked her what her name was, she said Sioux City Sue
Sioux City Sue, Sioux City Sue
Your hair is red, your eyes are blue
I'd swap my horse and dog for you
Sioux City Sue, Sioux City Sue
There ain't no gal as true as my sweet Sioux City Sue
I asked her if she had a beau
She said, "Yes quite a few"
But still I started courtin' my sweet Sioux City Sue
The first time that I stole a kiss, I caught her stealing two
I asked her did she love me, She said "Indeed I do"
Sioux City Sue
Your hair is red, your eyes are blue
I'd swap my horse and dog for you
Sioux City Sue
There ain't no gal as true as my sweet Sioux City Sue
Now I'm admitting Iowa, I owe a lot to you
Cause I come from Nebraska to find Sioux City Sue
I'm gonna rope and tie her up, I'll use my old laso
I'm gonna put my brand on, my sweet Sioux City Sue
Sioux City Sue
Your hair is red, your eyes are blue
I'd swap my horse and dog for you
Sioux City Sue
There ain't no gal as true as my sweet Sioux City Sue

Thanks DR Cillaliz. I have it on record somewhere!
I was born in 1945. A great year!

HAPPY 101 BIRTHDAY TO MY FATHER
Today - August 11th.
-
Happy B'day to DR TOMOVOZ's DF!!!!!
-
I finally figured out who my cutie web site designer looks like.....DR Jason!
-
I just love the line "I'd swap my horse and dog for you" LOL
-
Hard to imagine his childhood without so many things we did take for granted - especially in terms of communication and entertainment. He grew up in a rural area. The village is still even 5 hours away from here by car. His little sister married my mother's older brother.
I am thus very genetically close to my cousin. (Gary).
-
Usually the joke is the other way around - My wife left and took the dog. I miss the dog.
-
My mother has a sign that says"
My husband said he'd leave me if I went shopping one more time....Lordy how I'll miss that man
-
She has another that says "No many was ever killed by his wife while he was doing the dishes"
-
Congratulations to DR Tomovoz's dad on reaching a really impressive milestone. Wow!
-
Now, I have a bit more writing to do, and then it's off to bed for me. My eyes are getting pretty heavy.
Good night!
-
On behalf of my father, thank you.
He is remarkable. He is quite ambulent, quick witted and funny - though has short term memory loss. He is on no medication!
-
But, of course! I'm taking Matthew, my best friend from college, for his birthday tomorrow night. We're going out for a snack after. Would you like to come along?
I'd love to -- if you and Matthew don't mind waiting maybe 15 minutes (while we break down the set, props, costumes, etc.). Whaddaya say? Am I worth 15 minutes?
-
15 minutes? I'd settle for five.
Oh, but you weren't talking to me... Nevermind. ;)
-
DR Cason - So, how did it go tonight?
-
The al fresco was nice - I think we got some good buzz on top of the already good buzz we had going. Our actor ended up making it there after his ad agency meeting (but Jennifer, the other understudy, did get to perform with the number, since we are doing it out of context and isn't complicated blocking). It was kind of chilly of course, but we were inside there at Fringe Central.
The band run-through went well -- I stood in for the "Founder" tonight running through the songs, as his voice was threatening to go out...and then they just ran some of the blocking and choreography and we were done at around 10.
So, we'll see how it all goes tomorrow!
-
So.. If the "Founder's" voice does go out... ???
-
-And I've noticed that "Bukowskical" has made a couple of the "Top Picks" lists for this year's Fringe Festival.
-
So.. If the "Founder's" voice does go out... ???
Then, I will be learning lots and lots of lines and brushing up a lot of songs as quickly as possible.
Luckily, he was saying he was feeling better at the end of rehearsal...but it's a matter of taking care of it. We have the show tomorrow night, and then a noon show on Sunday. Add that on top of the fact that they are still on LA time (i.e. a show at 9am - and people were complaining about singing at the al fresco at 1pm NY time today) and the fact that "Bukowsical!" is a serious workout for any singer...we'll see.
People just aren't taking care of their voices...luckily they were all just marking through this evening, but still...
-
-And I've noticed that "Bukowskical" has made a couple of the "Top Picks" lists for this year's Fringe Festival.
That's the thing - I really love the show (it's perfect for the Fringe), and the whole creative team...it's just a shame that a few rotten apples can spoil the bunch; yet of course, none of that is seen by anyone other than us.
And I hope it doesn't read to the audience.
-
What is the running time of Bukowskical?
-
What is the running time of Bukowskical?
Right at an hour and a half.
-
Thanks, DR Cason.
-
Well, I have some laundry to fold, as well as some other tidying up to take care of before heading to bed, so...
Goodnight.
-
just a shame that a few rotten apples can spoil the bunch
Was "apples" a typo, and should actually read "actors" ?
-
You said it, not me! ;)
-
Just saw Flight of the Conchords on Letterman. They are fun
-
Speaking of divas, I guess Big Daddy Warbucks finally made it home, and told her no. She was bad news (bad karma) -- sorry she played the game on you, bk -- but I have a feeling the Joyce you end up will be much better for you and the show. The Brain is a no divas allowed zone!
-
Just saw Flight of the Conchords on Letterman. They are fun
They are a fun group -- one of my friends introduced them to me about a year and a half ago, after they had a concert special on HBO. Funny, strange New Zealanders!
-
I told my DH the whole story about Ms. McA at dinner, and he started singing "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll phone ya, tomorrow"...
DR Edi ~ Tell your DH I haven't even met him yet and I already like him! :)
-
The Brain is a no divas allowed zone!
Amen.
-
Hey Case ~ I know a few posts ago, someone was saying you ought to put a photo from The Brain as your avatar. Is there any way to transfer (no doubt there is a more technical computer term for that) a photo from The Brain website or bk's myspace (he's got The Brain photos streaming across there) -- or no?
-

Very possibly - but I just don't know how to get it to fit the size qualifications for an "avatar"...
-

I bet by tomorrow morning, one of our techie HHWers will have posted the directions ...
-
I bet George can do it for you
-
I think I'll go upstairs and read. I started "My Life at Grey Gardens 13 Months and Beyond A True and Factual Book" by Lois Wright. Who knew she was living there with the Edies? She was there during the whole filming but didn't fit in with the theme of the doc, so her footage was cut. Interesting
-
Happy birthday to Tom's Dear Dad.
-
TD-Why are there so few locations which fly non-stop from Pittsburgh?
I dunno. It's supposed to be an International Airport!
-
Because the smart people only want to fly to Pittsburgh to be with TD, and then they never want to leave.
And what are you waiting for, dr TCB?
-
Happiest of birthdays to Father Of TOMovOZ!! We can't have too many Leos.
-
Well, I still like my answer better.
So do I, TCB, so do I.
-
Mr El Gallo was very well behaved tonight and stayed PUT while I did my thing. We had an almost sold out house and the audience loved the show...they were very responsive....and Mortimer and Henry brought down the house several times.
-
OMG I just got an email from a friend I haven't seen in many years.....
-
Whaddaya say? Am I worth 15 minutes?
Fly into Pittsburgh and I'll let you know. ;)
-
Fly into Pittsburgh and I'll let you know. ;)
That sounds like the title of a song that opens a musical. ;D
-
Well, I just got in from seeing a marvelous motion picture entitled STARDUST, from the Neil Gaiman, novel. I cannot recommend this sweet-natured pic enough! It's beautiful, beguiling, bewitching and not at all bothersome.
-
Thanks for the Dad greetings. I suspect his genes fit better than mine do.
-
Have a hell of a headache, so had to stop watching DVDs. Probably the culmination of this very strange day - I don't need another one of these, let me tell you THAT.
-
G'night all!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DR TOMOVOZ' DF!
-
Congrats on a good show, JRand
