Well, you've read the notes, the notes were roasted, and now it is time for you to post until the roasted cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SOPHROSYNE!
-
First post after BK.

T.O.D.

First post after TCB!

Chicken Caesar salad
Chicken enchiladas
Burger King's Chicken Fries
Dairy Queen's Chicken Strip Basket
Chicken Alfredo
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Listening to Lee Hoiby's opera of Summer and Smoke - really good. If you bought Three Piano Concertos you know how delightful he writes, and this opera is filled with loveliness and wonderful orchestrations.
-
Skip's fried chicken
The chicken thing I made up a couple of months ago, chicken breasts stuffed with sautéed mushrooms, onions and roasted red pepper and mozzarella, brown in a skillet then finish in the oven with sliced grape tomatoes, mozzarella on top and reduced balsamic vinegar glaze
It doesn't have a name
-
good day to all
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have two very hungry kitties running about this morning. I will very shortly put Annabelle into her carrier, set it in the hall, and feed Thatch before we leave for the vet/
-
I'm primarily worried about Annabelle because she was not allowed to eat after midnight, and for all I know she's been eating bits of food she 's found on the floor, under the bed, a cockroach in the bathroom all night. I just want this to go smoothly for her.
-
So, when I get back, I'll take care of the litter, work on How To Succeed . . ., and wait to pick her up.
-
Tuesday morning greetings!
Vibes for Annabelle!
-
My day yesterday was kind of like DR Jane’s, but I had stomach issues instead of a headache. Richard and I were all set to go grocery shopping, but I napped instead and even skipped an AAUW meeting in the evening. Much better this morning...
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got a drizzly and chilly day here, and I don’t plan on going out in it. I look forward to the promised warming later in the week.
-
I am home from the vet. By the time we got there, Annabelle was terrified; her eyes were dilated as far as they would go. I had several forms and permissions to fill out, then I spoke to a technician, answered her questions, and headed home. I expect to be called between 2 and 4.
-
Continued Vibes for Annabelle.
-
DR Ginny I am glad you are feeling better today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Dental vibes for Annabelle.
-
I overslept today. Still feeling behind.
-
I’m behind, but at least I have a wonderful taste in my mouth from this delicious Sausage and Egg McMuffin.
-
Annabelle vibes! And vibes for DR ELMORE to survive the day!
-
Three GREAT BIG STARS dropped out of the ANNIE ensemble - but we will survive.
-
The Vocal Director is out for the rest of week, so I'm up! Whew! Didn't quite expect that, but it's okay - everyone was so good to help me out last year, I CANNOT refuse to help them.....
Of course we're just doing the easiest songs in the show tonight:
We'd Like to Thank You, Herbert Hoover
NYC
I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here
HA!
-
So I have some prep work to do. Everyone was assigned His/Her part in those songs last night, so if they remember, we'll be all set!
-
DR Laura how is Rex today?
-
TOD - I learned to roast a chicken from Richard's late cousin Deborah. Rinse the chicken inside & out and stuff with a whole lemon that has been cut into 1" cubes, rind and all. Cover and bake at 375o, about 30 minutes per pound. We have one meal of chicken, rice or pasta, and a green veggie. Then we have leftover meat for chicken pie, chicken spaghetti, or chicken salad. Sometimes Mary Linda makes bone broth from the carcass and Allie the Cat gets the liver & gizzard.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about five hours of sleep.
-
Musical mavens and staffers - do you think it is helpful for the cast to hear the OBC version of a song before they learn it?
-
Thanks DR GINNY now I want chicken.

Ha, indeed.

TOD:
I love fried chicken, but I would take roast chicken in a heartbeat most any day.
I remember getting off a five-day food trip to NYC with about five meals each day. I really didn’t want anything to eat when I got to upstate New York, but my friend Carol talked me into dinner in Columbia County. I ordered roast chicken with truffles and butter under the skin. It remains one of my top five meals ever.
-
City Vet just called me. Annabelle is in good dental shape except for her broken fang, which they are going to pull now. The poor baby must be starving. She last ate around 10pm last night. Now I wait for the call to pick her up.

If you have inexperienced performers or slow learners or people who can't read music at all, it's probably not a bad idea. I've been in a couple of shows where the music director/stage director did that. They (fortunately) used recordings that matched what we were doing.
-
When this doesn't work is when the choreographer uses the recording to choreograph the numbers but the music director speeds up the tempo to a point where it's very difficult to execute the choreographer's choreography. :P
-
I hate it when that happens.

I think I'll try it - it will also take up a few minutes of time.
We are doing the same songs tomorrow night, so it can't hurt.
-
I agree DR GEORGE that's why I love CD's like MR BK produces that includes ALL the dance music and breaks!
Tempii I can't help you with. HA!
-
I was just called again. Annabelle is out of surgery and I can pick her up after 5:30. Little Thatch must miss her today. He's climbed all over me, begged to be petted and tummy-rubbed, and climbed up my leg to head-butt me. He doesn't like being held but he likes to snuggle up.

That’s wonderful, but I never got to pick one up that soon. Sometimes they even kept them overnight.

Great news about Annabelle!

Great news about Annabelle.
-
Good news @ Annabelle.
-
I am off in a bit for some vocal rehearsals for that red headed show.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Good lunch meeting and a big decision made, not easily but necessary. I think it's the right thing and I think people will be happy about it.
-
Picked up a package - should have been two but I got an alert from Amazon saying one of them was so damaged it was being sent back, so I'm out that CD and I won't be refunded till the seller gets it, which is really irritating and I'll be calling about that shortly. When I saw the package that HAD been delivered I saw the problem - there was some kind of oily greasy crap all over the side where you'd open the package - it was disgusting. I had to open it with tissues and then shake out the CDs therein, which were new and shrink-wrapped and thankfully not covered with the guck. I'm guessing the other package had the guck seep through and that was an open used CD and it probably ruined it. The USPS should be forced to go out of business.

That sounds...intriguing.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I am about to pack up Rex for another treatment at the vet.
-
Best wishes to Elmo and Annabelle for a pleasant, loving night during which Annabelle gets more attention than she deserves and all the pity petting she can possibly stand.
-
I awoke to the sounds of a weedeater outside my window. The temporary yardman was busy at work. Got here at 8 a.m. and finished around 11 a.m. Is our yard that big? No, for the second time in our two-time experience with temporary yardman, his riding mower broke down. First time he needed spark plugs. This time he needed a belt of some kind. The end result is that he mowed our yard with a power mower which he hand-pushed.
He did, however, disappear for a time while he got a new belt. He had to install it as his truck was on one side of the house and his riding mower was on the other.
Sigh. Will be glad when regular yardman (who is recuperating from a broken ankle) returns. Probably around May.

DITTO!

We're home, and I am very happy that the bill was about 2/3 what I anticipated. She's on enough pain meds to last her the next two days, and she just had her first tiny bit of food in 21 hours. Thatch is happy to see her and he tried to eat her dinner, so I have him some of the Friskies Mixed Grill paté. I have to keep an eye out tonight for any signs of nausea or bleeding.
-
The technicians all loved her. I gather she was her usual friendly and loving self. Everyone raved about her, and after I paid the bill and spoke to the dentist, the wonderful receptionist told me there would be a delay in bringing her out because all the technicians were saying goodbye to her.

I am surprised since overnights often depend on the procedure. If you want to pick up your pet earlier I suggest asking for an earlier time on the surgery rotation.

!!! 3 !!!
-
Now I need to think about my dinner.

I am about to pack up Rex for another treatment at the vet.
Continued vibes for him!

Healing vibes for the regular yardman of DR Ron!

I had a chicken Caesar wrap, then talked to Amazon and got them to issue a credit instantly.

I hope that ankle's a fast healer!

That doesn't surprise me.
-
On the whole I have been very pleased with USPS.
-
Everyone here loves our postman.

Pretty much the opposite of what they all thought (but didn't say out loud) about Joshie. He had quite a reputation at the vet.
-
Rex got his fluids and meowed at me on the way home.
-
Annabelle may be drugged out of her mind, but she's clearly paying us back for being unconscious most of the day. She's wired up, jumping all over the place, tossing things off shelves. I thought she'd be comatose until tomorrow.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait.
-
Rex got his fluids and meowed at me on the way home.
It does feel good to them. Hopefully you won't have to do this again and he can have his oral surgery.
-
I have 5 days to read a book before the library takes it back from me. Since I need to read THE GREAT ALONE for my book discussion group I had better get to reading. I fear though that I will end up taking a nap instead.
-
He goes in every day this week.
-
Glad to hear that Annabelle feels ok. I am sure she has already forgiven you.
-
What is this page three malarky?
-
a.k.a. this page three mishegas.
-
a.k.a. this page three cockamamie.
-
Listening to they symphonies of Camille Saint-Saens. Some lovely stuff.
-
I also have all the Saint-Saens piano concertos to listen to, but after I finish this symphony I'm on I shall watch a Twilight Time Blu-ray.
-
Well, I must be off. I don't have rehearsal on Tuesdays, so tonight I'm ushering for the St. Martin's University production of Urinetown. I hope it's good. They did The Drowsy Chaperone a few hears ago and it wasn't bad. ::)
;)
-
Be back later!
-
He goes in every day this week.
Good :)
-
I didn't get any reading done. The sun is shining and called us out for a walk.
-
Which reminds me, DR TCB I told Keith what you said about getting a Fitbit and he laughed. I apologize for not commenting sooner :)
-
Four!
-
Page four? Really?
-
Well, it was another long day at the office. Tomorrow, about 8 of the 11 people left will also be taking an optional training session. They love their training sessions, you know. They say it'll help them with the work they'll have to do after their third promotion from now comes through.
Anyway, our interim supervisor sent out an email saying no more than three people at a time can do these optional training sessions.
I sent her a thank-you note.
-
I'm really not terribly sympathetic at work any more.
-
In case you hadn't noticed that.
-
I guess they figure I'm just an old sumbitch or something like that.
-
I had to edit the work of a person who's at a higher level than I am, and it took four or five hours. It was sloppy and not well thought through. I could have done it faster myself.
-
Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch
Funny, funny, funny, funny.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Watching more outtakes from Monterey Pop tonight. Good music. David Crosby singing with the Byrds. Looking forward to Lou Rawls, Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Laura Nyro and The Who.
-
Here is the YouTube trailer for my one-woman play, YVONNE DE CARLO, which is available in paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon.

ABC is claiming that the reboot of "Roseanne" is the number one NEW comedy.
That is not saying MUCH at all. Hardly anything.
I find it watchable, but not a bit funny.
-
The reboot of "Will and Grace" is in-your-face crass, IMO.
What was once funny because of inference has lost all sense of fun with outright crudity.
-
What in hell is happening to television shows...any way?
-
I watched the motion picture of "It" today. I really loved the cast and the "inspired by the novel" story line.
I look forward to chapter 2.
-
Just a reminder: Warner Archives is releasing a Blu ray of "Les Girls" within the week (I think).

I love that movie.
We're ladies in waiting,
In waiting to the king ...
Uh-oh, another earworm.

And an earworm while The Who are performing. Odd.
-
Good night, all.

Latest from the collaborator with the aunt stories.

What date was the outline you're talking about?
I feel I told you which outline I'm talking about.
But I really don't know which outline you're referring to.
But I feel I told you.
So if you think you told me already, what's the harm in telling me again?
But I feel I told you already.
This phone conversation today felt like a modern take on the old line "I never repeat salacious gossip. So please listen carefully the first time."

Tiday I had a phone call from someone who was angry at me for not responding to the three emails he sent me
I apologized and said I didn't see them, I did an email search while he was on the phone, I checked my spam filter, checked deleted ...
Did you send it to "myname@mycompany.com" I asked
NO! He shouted I sent it to "someoneIneverheardof@aFirmIdontknow.net"...
Ah! That could explain why I didn't respond to your emails....he was not placated, he felt that I should have read them and responded anyway since he is paying good money for our services
-
Our main scanner decided it had enough and refused to work anymore
-
Our main printer/copier/fax machine decided if the scanner didn't work it didn't see why it should work
-
So all 11 of us were using the backup copier/printer and hoping it wouldn't find out that the other machines had quit
-
And we ran out if coffee

But I think my day was still better than John G's... since the runaway coworker incident everyone has suddenly banded together to help each other out, perhaps through a common sense of betrayal.

We still enjoy Modern Family and have been watching the earlier episodes.

Excellent.

Well, tonight's performance of Urinetown for which I ushered was really good!
-
I didn't know this, but tonight was the Pay-what-You-Can performance.
-
Finished with my viewing - watched two Twilight Time Blu-rays.
-
The house was about half filled and everyone really enjoyed it, too.
-
After the show, my friend Margo (who also ushered tonight) and I went out to McMenamin's The Spar.
-
We had their two mini burgers.
-
They were, as usual, quite delish.
-
I'm now watching The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
