I was always, from childhood, a big fan of Broderick Crawford.
Loved him in ALL THE KING'S MEN, THE MOB, SCANDAL SHEET, STOP, YOU'RE KILLING ME....
It's probably one of the major reasons I wrote my play about him.
During the 1950s, when other Seattle kids were going to see Elvis movies, I'd see every one of Crawford's films.
I know it's weird, but I was a weird kid.
After I moved to Hollywood, I got to know him years later in the early 1970s.
