BTW, before i leave that post, there is no unanimity to the idea that LITTLE MERMAID is "bad."  There may be a majority of the overnight reviews, but there were enough positive reviews so that one can say that its "overnight" reception was better than, say,  that of the stage BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

Might there be some critical resentment toward shows so clearly geared toward a middle-class family audience?

Mr. Bruce, I whole heartily agree with your rant. Restaurant cell-phoners should go away too, but they're not as dangerous as the driving ones.

On a happy note, the lead from materials management at Kaiser called me back & wants to meet me tomorrow! Unfortunately, all my nice pants are at the tailor getting hemmed, so I'm wearing a skirt, which I'm not used to. I hope I remain comfortable & composed!

Went to the Happiest Place On Earth yesterday with my aunt. Going there on a weekday is definitely a wise choice, if it can be done. Practically no lines! Now that's happy.

DR Elmore, it may have something to do with the length of the link. (But I could be wrong.) No big deal, there's always the copy/paste standby.

ASK BK:

Bruce,

Who was on the panel you saw when you attended "Jukebox Jury"?

You'd think with my memory for details in my childhood, that I'd remember, but I think I was overwhelmed being in an actual TV studio like NBC - I do have vivid memories of Peter Potter from that evening.

You need to use the "indent hyperlink" button (second row, third icon in from the left), not the "insert quote".

Well, DR Jeanne casue me a few bucks yesterday - the local bookseller had Minette Walters "The Breakers" on their usedbook shelf for $3.75

Vixmom asked what the difference is between hands free and talking to someone in the car.  For my money, having someone in the car keeps you IN THE CAR, and if your mind is wandering or your glancing at the person, if they're sane they'll let you know about it.  With hands free people tend to just forget where they are and enter a different world.

In addition to that cattle gun thing, Mr. Bardem also carries around some sort of huge rifle with some sort of huge silencer.

What am I doing wrong?

"indent hyperlink"? - Was that just for me, DR DerBrucer? ;)

Otherwise...

Some URLs you can just put right into the post, and the "board" will magically make it a hyperlink.  But, as DR SingingNymph surmised, if the link is too long, no "magic" will occur.

For Example:

http://www.playbill.com

As opposed to:

http://www.kennedy-center.org/calendar/index.cfm?fuseaction=showEvent&event=TITSL

Where you would have to "manually" use the URL tool to make it work:

http://www.kennedy-center.org/calendar/index.cfm?fuseaction=showEvent&event=TITSL

Or if you prefer text with your hyperlinks:

Barbara Cook's Spotlight: Alice Ripley & Emily Skinner

Hmm... Well, the "longer" URL ended up getting automatically truncated and hyperlinked.. Hmm...  I wonder if the punctuation in the URL has anything to do with it... Let's see...

Since the Village Voice matters to Broadway family audiences about as much as, if not less than, the Philadelphia Inquirer :) here's the Inky review:

Hmm.. 'Tis a puzzlement.

*In any case, that second link is for Brent Barrett's upcoming appearance at the Kennedy Center as part of the same "Barbara Cook's Spotlight" series that Emily & Alice are a part of.

Does anyone have the Nielsen numbers for that night?  I'm sure they were astronomical.  ;)

Oh btw, re: yesterday's discussion re: ned on GHOST WHISPERER.

When i commented that the imdb had oldNed as playing the last episode we saw, i wasn't trying to say that DR RLP was incorrect (about their being a newNed).

I just meant that it was interesting that the imdb had that info (even though it was wrong).
