Is anyone else playing the Treasure Hunters online game? I've done the first 7 challenges - one to go and I think I know the answer. 10 people with the right answer will be picked to compete for 200,000 live on the last show. I know my chances to win are really slim, but they are probably better than the lottery and somebody has to win, lol

When Thunder Mountain, or whatever its called, at Disneyworld stalled they just walked us down the side of the ride. It was kind of fun.

Hi Cillaliz-fine thanks. I've been busy looking up great names in literature to name our new dog. There are very few female names we like. So far our picks are Austin (as in Jane) and likes Mycroft.

We haven’t really come up with any good ones for a girl.

Good Evening!

Well, due to an e-mail I just received, it looks like I will have to leave the A/C-cooled environs of my apartment tomorrow to take care of an errand. Thankfully, it will be a most pleasant errand.

And I can take care of it early in the morning - well, at least around 9:30 - before the major heat and humidity sets in for the duration.

*I'm just glad that since our apartment is on the ground floor and between two taller buildings, it never really gets that hot in the apartment when there's no A/C running. We usually just turn the window units on for a couple of minutes to put a chill in the air, and that lasts a good couple of hours. And since we - all New Yorkers - are supposed to conserve electricity tomorrow - that's a good thing.

Some interesting sidelights and trivia

It was all too much for America's TV Guide who huffed: "This is a fine program for the one-and-under set, for two and older you might be better off with straight commercials".

Featured segments included The Three Musketeers, Arabian Knights, Micro Ventures, Adventures Of Gulliver, The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Danger Island (famous for the cry of "Oh oh Chongo", and because Richard Donner - director of Lethal Weapon - got his start on it!).

TRIVIA NOTE
Fleegle (a dog), Drooper (a lion), Bingo (a gorilla) and Snorky (an elephant) were all instantly recognisable characters. Unfortunately, anyone could wear those furry outfits - A painful truth soon discovered by Dan Owen, Terence Henry, Jeffrey Brock and jay Larrimore (the guys in the suits on the show). When the Splits staged their very own national US concert tour, local actors were hired to save fees and expenses.

I am curently transferring a couple of episodes of LAWMAN that my interviewee Jimmy Baird appeared in...the other guest star, in the first episode, is Skip Homeier...you know there is something about that guy...I just never realized how good looking he was!

And I am also realizing now why DR Jane had such a crush on Peter Brown...wowee! They sure like to show him walking away from the camera a LOT if you know what I mean (he wears very tight jeans).

Speaking of TARZAN, I just read today that Warners is releasing the next boxed set of Tarzan adventures - Johnny Weismeuller's 6 RKO features - on October 31st. I spent many years of my youth watching those Tarzan films on Sunday afternoon TV - Safari Theatre it was called.

When they ran out of Tarzans (including the Lex Barker and Gordon Scott ones), they started running Jungle Jim and then Bomba.

Tonight I had another unusual mix of viewing delights.

I began with Buster Keaton's 1923 OUR HOSPITALITY. Fun movie, maybe a bit longer than the material required, but the high points were high indeed.

I remember watching a Keaton documentary seeing how he did the waterfall stunt, but it's still amazing to see after all these years.
