We had rain last night!! Real rain!  Buckets of it.  It was so nice.  It may have been due to the edge of the hurricane down in Baja.  At any rate, it was a pleasure.  Not as pleasurable as a lovely meal with all of you, but it will have to do for now.

Bruce, tell us more (or show us) the picture of Miss Wood.

A note on Poker:

From the Associated PressWouldn't simple dealing be safer?

der Brucer

They do poker runs here all the time - either by snowmobile or motorcycle, you go from place to place (usually bars) and pick up a card. Best hand in the end wins

A slight dusting of Nutmeg on the sprouts would complement the dressing.

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that

Some bat humor, since vixmom isn't here to do it:

What is Dracula's favorite soup?
Scream of Tomato.

What animal is always at a baseball game?
A bat.

What did the kid vampire say to his mommy at bedtime?
"Mommy, turn off the switch. I’m afraid of the light!"

What is Dracula's position in baseball?
Batboy

Why was Dracula not at his desk?
He was on his coffin break

What is the largest building in Transylvania?
The Vampire State Building.

Why did the vampire's lunch give him heartburn?
It was a stake sandwich.

What do goblins and ghosts drink when they're hot and thirsty on Halloween?
Ghoul-aid!!!

What do you call a dog owned by Dracula?
A blood hound.

Why does Dracula consider himself a good artist?
Because he likes to draw blood!

Whom did Dracula take out on a date?
His ghoul friend!

What is a vampire’s favorite holiday?
Fangs giving

Did you hear about the unsuccessful vampire hunter?
He tried to kill a vampire by driving a pork chop through its heart because steaks were too expensive

Thanks for the bat humor...it's appreciated

Yes, and even Bob Hoskins (What a wonderful actor!) joined in the fun!

He is great in a brief small surprising part, opposite Fanny Ardant, in the PARIS, JE T'AIME film I recommended the other day!

BIG BROTHER 7 -- SPOILER

Go on....you know you want to read....

SPOILER

...but if you really don't want to read, go no  further....

SPOILER

...'cause I'm not joking now.  I'm gonna spill some beans!

SPOILER

After all that hoo-haw....guess who won, breaking James' record?

I guess that gave it away, since only Janelle was near his record.  Janelle won.  She must nominate Will if she uses the POV on herself.

And then she will have to vote either Will or Erika out of the house.

Money is on Erika....because she's the one most likely to win an endurance compeitition, which is what the final HOH generally consists of, at least in part (they have been in three parts in the past).

I'd love to see Janelle and Erika make a pact to ditch ChillTown and go to the final two together.  Truth is, though, Erika wouldn't do that as long as Mike is in the house...so, I guess Erika will just have to go.

We shall see.

Seems that once again there were problems with the challenge.  Other players "hooks" broke but not Janelle's.  I still think it's fixed and I think that's disgusting

I thought at first that was a reference to his character's "appearance" in Mrs Henderson Presents.

Happy Birthday to all those celebrating today! I'm a bit out of sorts today. 16 hours of sleep FINALLY full of weird dreams too strange to describe. My how the mind can come up with some things. No rest for the wicked though...off to find some food then hitting the town with my neighbor for our usual sunday night drinking. Hope everybody has a spectacular day!

Thanks FJL - I'm an appreciator of "dumb". Dumb clever - not dumb as in reality TV etc!

dumb = a marginally shorthened elephant. Or one who hasn't tied the knot. (for the challenged -= without the bow)

BIG BROTHER>>>>NOT REALLY SPOILERS JUST DISCUSSION

Ok, maybe I feel a little sorry for Janelle because she is being SOOO played, by Will, but how could she not think she is being played?   I am cheering for Will now.  He really has orchestrated everything without winning a competition, that takes talent

For a lady, it could also be "without a beau!"

I've always liked that True Life Adventure:

You mean Penny DuBois isn't a close relative of Blanche?
