We have not given a drop of rain or a flake of snow that they predicted. SOmetimes, the weather folks just miss the boat. I'm glad, I must say.

I watched BURN NOTICE while I ate cooked and lunch. Good, fun caper this week, the story arc caper was OK (not much to it), and Sharon Gless's mother was her usual whiny, annoying self.

Looks like next week Michael's brother returns which I'm looking forward to. I always enjoy seeing him and Michael working together.

BK's rain is supposed to come to us tonight. I hope so. I want the ground to stay soft until The Troubled Youth finishes the yard work.

Then I watched 4 1/2 episodes of MARY MOORE. In these, Edie got remarried, Mary moved to her new apartment, and priest almost fell in love with her, and Murray actually did. The fifth episode will find Ted being offered a job as a game show host. Can't wait for Lou's hilarious lecture to him about being the M.C. of a QUIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Show.

The transfers don't look great. Seems like a previous season (3 or 4 maybe) looked better than these season six ones do (so far at least).

OK, that was a very quick internet surf. I'm heading down now to tidy up a few things and then back to Ms. Richards and the gang at WJM.

The battle has begun between apartments 3C and 4C, but i hope we can reach a peaceful settlement. While I was at Toyland, I received an email from him and I sent him an email back explaining how I could ear everything above me after midnight. When I got home, I went to up make peace but he had stepped out. I have no idea when he will return, probably long after I've gone to bed, so I will try and clear this whole thing up tomorrow.

At Toyland, I finally heard "Evaline McCook," since I had  meeting there to run through all the Herbert songs I collected at the LoC. It's really quite a charming song.

Amy, Amy, Amy, Beverley played your Paul Robeson song request this afternoon! I don't know if you were listening (she didn't play any review of mine) but she was mentioning Mr. Robeson and then played something and said after that it was by your request.

The show will be on at 4pm (Eastern Standard Time) tomorrow if you want to give a listen. It happens around 45 minutes (maybe a bit later) into the show. If you can't listed tomorrow, you know how Listen Again on the BBC iPlayer works so you will have a week to listen.

Back from my various and sundried travels.  Two copies of the book have been Xeroxed and spiral bound and even doing the double sided printing, it's still huge.  Then I had lunch at Musso and Frank, and that was, as always, yummilicious.  Had the combo Louis.

I never much cared for Michael Caine.

Well, the snow continues to fall.  I've already accomplished part one of the dig-out.  Part two will commence when this storm blows over.

Here is a picture of my broom posing in front of my house...    http://twitpic.com/11qb3t

I hope you weren't riding it when the storm hit!

I can't wait to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, and all the hype that goes along with it.  It is one of the big television events that I watch faithfully every year.  The others are probaly The Oscars and The Tony Awards.

Thereby throwing off Nielsen demographic sampling for generations.

I don't get it? ???

I would say very few people would make a trifecta out of the Super Bowl, the Oscars and the Tonys.

I don't know about this - I know quite a few people who like all 3 including me!

I just spent about 1 1/2 hours prepping my food for tomorrow's SUPER BOWL party. The sad part is that i didn't even start my cheesecake. Although i did make the reese's peanut buttercups and the fudge sauce. I don't think it will take that much time to make the pie crust and actual cheesecake tomorrow.

Although one thing i found weird (which i had not noticed) was that it said to use an 8inch pan (the name has momentarily escaped me - the ones where the sides come off). This seems so small. But i guess the worst case scenario is it will be very tall (or i'll have extra filling).

DR Jennifer - An 8" Springform pan is a standard-sized pan. -And, "tall" cheesecakes are also sort of the norm in some circles, regions, restaurants.

I measured all 3 of my springform pans, between 6 1/2 to 9 inches.  8 inches is a good size.

Jennifer does your recipe say you can serve it right away?  My cheesecake sets for 3 days before I can serve it.

I watched this week's WHITE COLLAR. I love this show!

After a fine pilot episode, the show then went through a couple of weeks of shaky delivery. I think now the show is more firmly sure of what it wants to be and is turning out really entertaining episodes. It is now one of my favorites as well.

I have watched a total of sixteen MARY TYLER MOORE episodes today (The first two discs of a three disc set). The show is just as funny as I remembered it, and in the first 16, there isn't a dud in the bunch. Yep, this was the season of "Chuckles Bites the Dust," Mary becoming heavily involved with Ted Bessell, Murray becoming Sue Ann's producer for an episode (with Sue Ann ending up in a wedding cake), Ted and Georgette's hasty wedding, Sue Ann's first date with Lou, and the first appearance of Eileen Heckart as Mary's Aunt Flo. (She makes a second appearance on the third disc which I'll watch tomorrow).

This leaves me with eight episodes to watch tomorrow. I hope to finish them by the end of the afternoon (there are no bonus features on the discs). Then I can watch THE MUSIC MAN tomorrow evening. I should have time to watch something else as well.

I wish I could say the quality is superb on MARY, but it isn't. The transfers are OK. I assume a lot of softness in close-ups was soft focus photography (though it has been done for some of the men as well as for the women). And yet other close-ups are not in soft focus. Very inconsistent.
