I want to see the dvd of TANGLED. My niece got it for getting a good report card. Anyhow I asked her if I could borrow it. ANd she was like, "no, you can't borrow it." I explained that it meant I just took it for a day and then gave it back to her. But she did not like that idea. She told me if I wanted to see it that I could watch it with her. :)Smart kid.

John G - Was that waiter last night being deliberately rude using his own discretion, or did you get the feeling this is a policy of the joint? The place just opened a few days ago and it is swamped. I think he was just not thinking.
God morning, all! This morning I awoke to fnd I was overdrawn. How rude!the Stravinsky piece was Dumbarton Oaks from the late 1930s. There was another piece on the prgoram that i can't remember, a piece for brass instruments from the late 1500s.
Before I awoke to discover this horrible news, I dreamed I was trying to get out of an appointment to have an order of carnivorous plants delivered and potted. I have no idea where this one came from.
DR John G, Rameau, Stravinsky, Handel, and the dread Glass who gives me no gas but intense headaches? I would guess there's a baroque-classical connection: Handel and Rameau = 18th Century composers, Glass and Stravinsky = 20th century writers; Glass + Vivaldi = neoclassical composition. You didn't mention the Stravinsky piece, but I'm suspectng it's from his neoclassic period as well, which runs from around 1920 with "Pulcinella" to around 1953, after "The Rake's Progress."
Today, more Herbert. I can't afford to go anywhere!
Ditto!!! Cranberries !!
And the word of the day is: LOOBY!
Before I even tell you that I'm up, might I just say - PAGE ONE???
"Carnival" has arrived and is now playing. Wonderful.
Check vibes for Elmore. I could use some of the same."Carnival" has arrived and is now playing. Wonderful.
No packages for me today. No checks either. Damn!
Even TCB has left me. Sorry.
Even TCB has left me. Sorry.
Sorry, John G., Nicky wanted to sit on my lap (in the recliner) (in the other room).
I spent the day putting together the new desktop. All is fine EXCEPT for one problem. I ordered an 8 way Card Reader. It's on the manifest/shipping list and all the paperwork I saved from the order. They just didn't install it. I when the final check was done they didn't notice. I wasn't in Voice Mail Hell but Dell did make it difficult to reach someone even though their business site (I bought through the business side) said tech help was available 24/7. Two divisions were closed and not available until Monday morning. I finally got through to someone on Live Chat. As soon as I described my problem she gave me a phone number for Customer Care. I called and waited for 20 minutes. Luckily, the man I spoke to was able to help. They will be sending someone to the apartment either Wednesday or Thursday with the part to be installed. Success. Now, I'm listening to Beverley on Radio Wales and then dinner and then we will watch NJN at 9 o'clock for the Britcom The Old Guys and at 10 another Britcom After You've Gone. And after that, to bed!

John G.: You do know that Nicky is my cat?
We're off to The Meadows for dinner. If you were here, DR Elmore, we'd take you with us!
Bye for now!
My CD collection has eaten my original recording of "Gypsy." Three revivals I can find (I never bought Angela). But no Ethel.

I feel completely unmotivated today to accomplish anything!
today is my niece's 19th birthday--- she is going to college in Rhode Island right now
My CD collection has eaten my original recording of "Gypsy." Three revivals I can find (I never bought Angela). But no Ethel.
I still think she leaves all others in the dust.
Did everyone buy their Powerball tickets for this evening. The prize is $187 million. So, if you took a lump sum payment, even after 35% for Federal taxes, you would net $61,490,000.00

Perhaps, BK, I would have liked the font better if I had ever heard of Masquers.
TCB, I saw the Titanic Exhibit when it was in St Paul Minnesota back in 1999. I think it was the first time it toured. They blew the whistle the week before we went. It was fascinating. The think that I still remember was the olives in the jar that still looked like you could pop the top off and eat them. I remember a lot of other things but for some reason those olives just stick in my memory
Today we saw that National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof. That's about all I will say about that.

That reminds me I have to check the numbers on a couple of Lotto slips. Maybe this time I'll win.

That reminds me I have to check the numbers on a couple of Lotto slips. Maybe this time I'll win.
Maybe this time, I'll be lucky
Maybe this time, when I play
Maybe this time
For the first time
Cash won't hurry away
I will hold it fast
I'll be rich at last
Not a loser anymore
Like the last time
And the time before
Everybody loves a winner
So nobody loved me;
'Lady Peaceful,' 'Lady Happy,'
That's what I long to be
All the odds are in my favor
Something's bound to begin
It's got to happen, happen sometime
Maybe this time I'll win

I finished The Lincoln Lawyer last night. It was a very good book. I think I'll go see the movie tomorrowIt's the first of a series. I think there are two or three more.
Today we saw that National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof. That's about all I will say about that.Yikes.
I really enjoyed reading The Lincoln Lawyer and am thinking about reading more of Michael Connelly's books. Does anyone here read them? I'll probably start with the next Mickey Haller book, but the Harry Bosch series may be good tooI'm a big Michael Connelly fan. I liked most every one of his books, except "Void Moon." My advice is to avoid that one. "The Poet" was really good.

You win!
Then, I hope you enjoy it. It's not really a thriller or a mystery. It's a character study of someone I didn't care about.
Me, too. I got to interview Michael Connelly a couple of times when I lived in Florida near his late mother's place in Venice. This was just as he was hitting it big, about 15-17 years ago. Nice guy. Very supportive of other writers, which I like. Then, I hope you enjoy it. It's not really a thriller or a mystery. It's a character study of someone I didn't care about.
Oh I may not like it either, but once I start on an author, I usually read all of them. It's just a thing with me.
