Auditions Sunday for THE MUSIC MAN - I shall be auditioning for Mayor Shinn....a part I have wanted to play since I was 12 years old.

I have experience as Tommy, if they should need me.

I would pay good money to see that. Or you as Mrs Shinn.

And where is KevinH?

I'm here!

Were your eyes burning?

That's a new one to me!

Well, I couldn't ask if your ears were burning, becasue I didn't say anything out loud.

I love your logic.

I think it was Cillaliz who said the chili wasn't good. Maybe I'm wrong. It's been known to happen.

I stripped the other doors last summer while the family was on vacation without me. I didn't do a couple of doors because I had kittens and I didn't want the kittens to get into the places behind those doors.

It looks like I'll be furloughed Monday.
Just for Monday? I guess I'm asking what this really means. I don't do job speak much any more.

I should have said "starting" Monday.  The last time it lasted 3 weeks.

Back from the LACC meeting - apparently arts departments are now having to justify every single thing in their curriculum and now require said arts departments to have a meeting with an appointed board (which I guess I'm now on) of professionals who listen and give suggestions.  As always happens at these sorts of things, two or three people end up doing all the talking (of the professionals) and it's usually all about them rather than the business at hand.  I, in fact, did not open my mouth once until the final minute of the meeting.

Good Evening!

I had a good time walking around the Tidal Basin and taking pictures of the Cherry Blossoms. Alas, now I'm dealing with some watery eyes, a scratchy throat and a slightly stuffed up nose - Ah, Pollen! -But it was worth it. (Even if the blooms were quite at peak.)

Time to leave work and go to rehearsal.  We have people coming to see and review the show...in its incomplete state.  Not everyone has their complete costumes and not everyone will be there tonight! :o

Oh, well..."It will be what it will be."

Until later!

All the news I can find on Carin's accident is focused on Daniel Okulitch, the Canadian baritone in the car with her.

Apparently, Daniel posted a note on his Facebook page about the accident. I just called a mutual friend of ours, and even though she didn't have all the details, all she had heard was that Daniel was going to be in a brace for at least 8 weeks. An elderly gentleman lost control of his car and hit their car head-on going at 70mph. Thankfully, Carin and Daniel were not killed. -And that's about all I know.

You and several of my LoC friends.

When I walking along The National Mall earlier today, there were a lot - and I mean A LOT - of school groups going in and out of the various Smithsonian museums. Many of them were visiting Washington, DC, for the week, and some of them had adjusted their plans just in case the government does shut down this weekend.
