No DtM.  She had said she would be very busy working on her house to make it more livable.

A small plane has crashed into an office building in North Austin (I'm in South Austin.) that houses an IRS office.  They're saying that it could have been an intentional act.

And, I thought that Austin was supposed to be a peaceful city.

I was about to ask you about this, DR Druxy... Apparently, the pilot had set his house on fire this morning before heading to the airport... :-\  ???

That info wasn't mentioned when I read the news earlier :(

And this just turned up... Basically's it a suicide note... :(

I just read this.  Wow!

Yup. :(

The James Beard Foundation Chef & Restaurant Semi-Finalists were announced this morning.

RISING STAR CHEF OF THE YEAR

Maybe DtM can give us a review?

Heck, I would like to be able to reach the butter dish in the frig.

Heck I would like to be allowed to eat the butter I can reach :)

I guess we each get tormented in our own special way.

I just got the rehearsal schedule for tomorrow and I'm at the end of the day. Thank God! I've got time to finish this sucker without pulling an all-nighter.

I am so excited about my day off today (and hopefully the rest of the week off). I already have WONDER BAR (which I've never seen all the way through) cued up in the player. If THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM comes on Blu-ray, I'll watch that tonight before I tune in to some Olympics and GREY'S ANATOMY.

Is WONDER BAR on DVD?

ROTFLOL. sorry.

I don't eat much, just a little once in awhile.  A bit more lately since I need to keep my weight up, something I hate to do since I know it won't be long before I'm fighting to keep my weight down.

Argh...a breaker blew and when I turned it back on everything was flickering so I turned it back off. Time to call an electrician. Ouch!

As for commenting or not commenting on the machinations of this final season of "Lost"...

Well...

I really just want to watch it, and let the writers take me on whatever ride - or rides - they have devised.  I'd rather be surprised by every twist and turn, rise and (sudden) drop, rather than anticipate them and see them in the distance.

This is exactly the way I feel. I'll go where ever they take me and trust that they won't let me down. At the end of the season/series, if they have, believe me, I'll scream to high heaven.

Yes, DR MattH, many congratulations on attaining the BIG 50(00)...which, as BK said, is "post-wise"....

I might add that age-wise, you passed THAT millstone long, long ago...but not as long ago as I passed it!   :D

Thanks (and thanks DR Jose as well).

Don't remind be about the age stuff. It's awful enough to feel daily aches and pains; let's don't discuss the reasons why!  :)

No, I don't have it. You can access reviews on-line, but older reviews are usually shortened.

Oh, how very sad. She's one of the musical stars from MGM's golden age that isn't much written or talked about any more. She was a beautiful woman, and even Ava Gardner conceded that she had the most buxom measurements in all of Hollywood.

Before I headed out to lunch, I watched last night's PSYCH.

Good episode with some big laughs. Judd Nelson was the guest star, and, big surprise for me, was not the killer.

I only represented her while she and Howard Keel were doing a nightclub act together.  Howard stayed with me for over 10 years.

I'd see her from time to time, and she was always very warm and friendly.  Last time I saw her was at the Hollywood/Celebrity Show in Burbank about 3 years ago.

One of my most prized autographs (framed) is a lobby card of the "We Open in Venice" number from KISS ME KATE, signed by Grayson, Keel, Ann Miller and Tommy Rall, who was the hardest signature to get...because I didn't know him.

When I got in I watched WONDER BAR (Warner Archive release). Not the greatest quality. Kind of soft and contrast was weaker than it should have been.

Couldn't believe Al Jolson's first number: "Viva la France" was performed as if Eddie Cantor were doing it; not in Al's style at all. Wonder what THAT was all about.

And that blackface finale in heaven was VERY long and very unusual.

The dance double for Ricardo Cortez couldn't have been more obvious.

Then I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing and nothing in the previews either, not even of Dr. Pill.

Then skimmed through ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Yep, the boys were on both individually and together. I just love seeing them together: a great soap couple.

Then I started rewatching portions of the short programs again. I'm going to put a few of them on a DVD-R, and that's how I'm going to spend part of this evening until GREY'S ANATOMY comes on.

The Olympics? I'm going to record them like before.

I just read this.  Wow!

Wow is right, and I agree with just about every word of it and have said so for years.  Enough is enough and unfortunately our "new" government officials are doing nothing and will continue to do nothing but continue the status quo.  He was right - if what he calls the "American zombies" would wake up and realize the power that people have if they band together, then and only then would things change.  I've said for years if five million people said "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" and did not file tax returns you can bet your ASS that things would change.  They cannot put five million people in jail (or one million, or five hundred thousand) - if people would stop being complacent brainwashed sheep, things would change.  There, I've said it and I'm glad.
