I'm off to happy hour with some folks from work. I start back tomorrow. My, how time has flown.

No CDs.

No book, either, and I could swear BK said he’d finished it.

I won't know until I get home tonight.

City Vet called.  Thatch sees the cardiologist tomorrow.  I will drop him off at 11:00 and pick him up when they call me.

Do they need to put him out for the procedure or will he be awake?

So weird not writing.  Xeroxed the pages, then Doug came over and we went and celebrated at Casa Vega.  I told him the title and what it was about so he can start thinking about the cover.

Then I delivered the pages to Muse Margaret and then came home and watched a motion picture (and kept falling asleep).  Then Muse Margaret called - she liked the new pages very much and had no changes save for one question about something.  I read it and she read it, and then I removed it - just gilding the lily a bit too much - literally removing eight words, four from two different lines of prose.  And that's that.  I'll take a day or two, then Xerox the entire book and begin my going through it, looking for typos, repetition that I didn't mean to do, that kind of thing.

I was thinking if they put him out maybe they could give him his eye medication at the same time ;)  I don't think you will be asking about this.

I went to a new GI doctor in Portland.  If dealing with the prep wasn't so terrible I would go to Ashland for my 5 year check/procedure.  I was shocked to find out the low fiber, no seed, no nuts, etc diet now begins a week prior to the test.

The new doctor agreed to change the prep drink procedure for me and will let me take it all in one day.  I explained there is no way I can keep the second half of the drink down in the morning.  The odds are against me keeping it down in the evening but much better than in the morning.

I was going to ask how you are, happy hour sounds like you are much better.  Is it ok for you to have alcohol or will you be passing on that portion of happy hour?

I am not drinking yet, Jane, though there's no reason I can't have any if I want it. But I just haven't wanted it lately.

I usually feel the same way.  Not feeling well after our trip I didn't have anything to drink until this last Friday.

I haven't been eating as much as I usually do. We're in the middle of Restaurant Week, and I have indulged a couple of times. The portions have been manageable.

It is smart to keep the portions manageable.

Tonight's three-course meal included a wonderfully spicy ceviche, a grilled pork chop and a cobbler.

I wonder if gilding the lily is like feeling one's oats?

DR ELMORE there is a site at www.goodrx.com that gives you the lowest price on any prescription drug.

You don't have to join and or give any personal information.  You might go there and type in your $131 medicine and see if you can get it cheaper.  They list the drugstores it's available at....you can print it out or save it to your phone and use it that way.

I really like Jeanette MacDonald.....I especially like Smilin' Through....a remake of a Norma Shearer movie, and likely an even earlier silent movie....

She sings some nice songs and plays opposite her husband Gene Raymond.....
