Dan the Man: If you really want to read the scathing comments on the ABC book, check my post about it from Saturday.
All of the Streisand TV specials (including The Belle of 14th Street) are being released next month on DVD. There is going to be a boxed set that's a surprisingly cheap $40 for all five specials.
Thank you so much, DR Dan (the Man). I thouoght I had read about the DVDs, and I am looking forward to this a lot since I love the first two specials and "A Happening" is just fine but a concert so less imaginative.
I have never seen THE BELLE OF 14th STREET. I don't know how I've missed it all these years, but I have. And there was no album issued at the same time which also makes it something of a mystery.
I do remember that it got the lowest ratings of any of her first group of specials, all of the others of which did very, very well.
Supper: filet mignon, baked potato with butter (no sour cream) and bacon, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, apple pie a la mode.
I have very simple tastes.
...he had no idea of what an orchestrator does...
BK or Elmoore question
Whose idea to was it to quote the ET Flying Theme in the instrumental break on the track You Can Fly/I'm Flying on the Peter Pan CD?
This is becoming nauseating. Columbus Day isn't a REAL holiday, you know.
Halfway through the packing - arduous. Filling out the labels, signing the books, stuffing the envelopes (with the book and the sparkling something-or-other) and then filling out the delivery confirmation tag.
Good to hear DR Danise. Maureen is having a really tough time. We're in touch most days. Writing helps her a lot.

Ready for some more photos?
This is before the makeover at Saks.
DR elmore - I'm sorry you received bad news about your friend tonight.
Thank you, DRGinny! I just learned today that the Dawn Powell play you saw was directed by my neighbor Steve Williford!
I think I shall HAVE a makeover right this very minute.
elmore -- So sorry to hear that you received bad news tonight. My deepest sympathies to you.
Mr. Winters is from Oregon originally isn't he?
bk, be sure to post your before, during, and after photos! And then spend outrageous sums of money on the products they use on you.
Thank you, dear friend. Yes, I believe Time is from Eugene.
Jose: I've called David and left a message. As far as I know, you're in for both on Saturday. I'll give you details as I get them.
Jason and TPunk on the tour.
MBarnum, Jose, and Jane through the same pastry window.
The TV critic for USA TODAY said in his on-line chat today that tonight's episode of HOW I MET MY MOTHER was supposed to be good. The CBS brass had cued him to be sure to watch tonight since they rated this the best of the four episodes to have aired.
I honestly thought it was the WORST of the four episodes which have aired. I didn't laugh once. In fact, I found it insulting and cruel, and what a jerk they've made out of Neil Patrick Harris' character. Infuriating.
Well, I have to go. It's time to get to the house that I'm house-sitting...and the cat that I really am watching. Tomorrow is a regular work day (yea!) but Wednesday, I'll be off all day working the load-in, show and load-out of the tour of The Full Monty. I think that this is the tour that has a friend of Jason's (if I remember correctly, IIRC in Internet lingo).
